I like this series, but they seem to make a lot of claims using flimsy, if any, evidence. Simply saying that those marks were TRex bite marks, and showing how the shape of the hole matches a TRex tooth, doen't make it so. it simply shows that it might be, or could have been bite marks from a TRex. Many things can happen to a fossil over 85mill years; holes can come from any number of causes. Show us the concrete evidence, not just fanciful conjecture..
@MrDBarch I have to say that your disagreeing with these evidences comes off as more fanciful conjecture than what they are presenting here. You can see it right there, its pretty straightforward. STRONG evidence supporting T-rex attacking a live Triceratops. Absolutely concrete? Hmm I guess not but very very compelling. I'd say high 80s percentage wise of probability. Your almost complete dismissal of it comes off as more flimsy than what you claim their reasons are.
Florida has Alligator control? WHERE THE FUCK WERE THEY WHEN I WENT DOWN THERE FOR A HOLIDAY?! Seriously, there was one lounging around not a few feet from the house we were staying in!
@masterjuraya1 alligators and crocodiles are in the same family and since a crocodile has a longer, thinner snout than an alligator an alligator has a more similar jaw structure to trex.
Most people have trouble finding their keys and yet a paleontologist was able to find the missing tip of a triceratop's horn that survived a trex attack. No, its not like the triceratops left the scene of the assault, it stayed in the area and eventually died of old age right next to the broken tip where science was able to find it without a hitch. What if the triceratops carried the tip with it all that time? Come on, lets not be silly here..
in a show this uploader (Mrjohn5533) uploaded called clash of the dinosaurs, nearly every episode all archaeologists say that triceratops would have won if they got into a fight unless t-rex had a partner.i havent watched part 5 but if it ends up that t-rex won its bull shit.(im a very big triceratops fan)
@killchoi091 The narrator is Bill Oddie—cast member and writer of the only tv comedy known to have killed a man by making him laugh to death. The show was called The Goodies and it was a smash hit in the 70's (I was only a kid but I thought it was wicked funny). I can forgive his narration thanks to the good memories he added to my childhood. ;) (Besides ya gotta give some props to someone who can commit manslaughter by laughter. :P)
t-rex is far too large to be solely a scavenger. All large predators no matter what type must consume a certain amount of meat a day or they will go hungry. Even lions require a large amount a meat per day. An animal as large as t-rex could not simply rely on stumbling upon a dead Dino carcass.
Also trex lived at a time where the prey was heavily armored. This is why he evolved such a powerful head and bone crushing teeth to defeat armor.
Scavenge could just eat the soft belly of a carcass
Gee, I wonder what the curator of the Creationist museum would say about this ? I saw an interview with him where he says unequivicably, with proof, that T-rex was a vegitarian. His teeth are designed to strip leaves from plants don't you know.
Look, they're just trying to get an approximation. Obviously T-rex's teeth were NOT made of steel either. As for being a scavenger, almost all carnivores will scavenge to some degree. I doubt T-Rex was soley a scavenger, as most theories point to some pack hunting ability, and ambush hunting.
@turboguppy true, fresh meat are always better than rotten meat. All carnivores are opportunisitic, as long as they have the tool to kill, they will hunt !!!!
@XxComablackxX1937 Yes i think the healed scar on the triceratops pretty much proofs it. I mea i doubt it attacked a healthy fully grown adult triceratops unless it was desperate, but young ones and injured, most likely.
@XxComablackxX1937 Yes, but unlike most animals he can scavenge just as well as he can hunt. He has the ears to hear a small bird many miles away plus the sight of birds. Also, a nose that is equally as powerful.
@xenos12500 T-rex was slow but the Dinosaurs it hunted are slower like Triceratops,Ankylosaurus,Anatotitan & Edmontosaurus so it didn't need to get that close.
@XxComablackxX1937 Not necessarily, they did have fairly decent reasoning behind why they thought he was a scavenger at first. The rules of wildlife and predatory instinct has always been the same: Although you may be big, strong, and tough, go for the easiest pick before tiring yourself out with the larger ones. (After all, another predator might try and steal your catch). They estimated that if T-Rex ran at 38-40 mph and tripped (or was knocked over in some way), his ribs would be crushed...
@Yceb0x (continued) immediately on impact and thereby crushing his organs. Then after sliding for nearly 50ft breaking his neck. Even at 25 mph the damage would still seem fairly catastrophic (Although at say 15-20 is wouldn't be so critical). Assuming small, speedy prey was what he hunted, they figured he stole meals from other smaller carnivores or scavenged what was left. The problem was that they didn't think that not all good prey was fast (either in the brain or on foot) for example...
@Yceb0x (continued) dinosaurs like Torosaurus (mini-Triceratops cousins) did not run very fast and were no doubt slow to respond. But in the end, like you said, all good predators are opportunists. They hunt when they can, steal when they please, and scavenge when it's available.
@Yceb0x Thats their estimation. And while T-rex probably moved nowhere near that fast they really have no way of knowing how truly resilient these animals were when it comes to falling over etc. We now know T-rex hunted. If the species was so vulnerable to falling and not being able to get up I dont think it would of been as successful a species as it was.
@Evanest25isBack they are. the reason why alligators, birds & dino's like T-rex are closely related is because they all share a common ancestor- the Archosaurs.
@BrontoSmilodon1 Yeah, you're probably right, but I remember the Discovery show "Feeding Frenzy", when they tested the bite strength of crocs and gators on a gator farm or some place like that. Couldn't they have done this here as well, I wonder.
Lol about 3 men, 30 poodles..... And a chuawa

the theory of T-rex was a full scavenger is not possible if it was a full time scavenger it didn't need its 6000-8000 pounds and 35000 newton bite
beylader231 2 weeks ago
would of had a bite force of at least 4 tons or 35,000 newtons. of course this means... absolutely nothing to me LOL
