@RPGAssassin2291 I think you were right 1st time - it's awesome. Especially when you think that at the time of it's conception synth's and digital media were in their infancy, and a home computer meant a commodore PET with a maximum of 96kb memory!
I've just spent an hour trying to remember the name of this track. Thank you, YT! It can now sit alongside Space: Magic Fly, Black Betty by Ram Jam and Oxygene Pt. 2 as 70s classics.
As a kid, I remember seeing a New Year's Eve 1977 trailer for Dr Who, The Robots of Death with Tom Baker, a special episodes-compiled-together one-off thing....and this was the trailer music, lol ! Anyone else recall that one?
OMG forgot how good this was, great quality sound, anybody out there got the flip side? almost identical but with a girls voice tellin us how lucky we are
those where the days i was about twelve and my dad used to send me to the outdoor for twenty park drive and a bottle of newcastle brown ale and i was in my school unform no one batted an eyelid and i dont drink and i dont smoke go figure
always liked side 2, the crunch part 2 better, its just that bit of vocalisation, didnt get it when i got the best of the rah band either, it seems to have been overlooked by everybody :O(
@mrordinaryuk Awwww thanks Tony Blackburn, couldnt remember this at all, but sounds up to date & totally agree with you about Orbital, this could have been the B side to their Style single - would have been a perfect cover!
@jonkheere1 totally agree mate, but we can come on here, put this on and in our minds be jumping into our RS2000 with our lumberjack jackets on to pop down the pub and have night out for a tenner!

I just love this song but kinda missed it as a kid.

July 1977, when beer was 28p a pint,fags were 80p for twenty, and you could do a weekend on a tenner.
Why do we have to grow old?
jonkheere1 1 year ago 34
@jonkheere1
fags were only about 50p then. Its when I took up smoking.
welshnick300365 1 year ago
@jonkheere 1 I was only 12 but it was crisps for 2p and a bottle of Irn Bru for 5p..My first pint cost me 90p in 1986. Jings.
