reason it suffered rrod (MY THEORY) is... faster fans fills the xbox quickly with air... clogging the other side of the heatsink... makeing the fans have to work faster... thus they generate more noise.... Vaccuum it regularly :O... the faster/better the fans the more the Xbox will breathe... sucking in more dust faster :P

They were in normally plugged in where the fans go so they were'nt being overvolted and only went fast in game. They don't fit backwards and why would anyone be stupid enough to do that anyway. I know this video was pointless but it was only posted because someone on a forum asked me to post one. I just stick to Nidec fans now they are the best / quietest and I don't mind the noise of the drive or anything because you don't hear it when you're playing a game. That xbox was on it's way out.

i got the whisper max legacy today and i must say the Nitro switch is so loud = unplayable (i get directly into brain). The cable for switching is really low quality and directly broke so i put it out again. Whisper Fans legacy without Nitro are much quieter then DC Fans ! (i´m very happy to watch now divx Movies in a quiet room !) but i believe "Nidec Fan" User will not have it much more silent ! so you should check your fans before buying. for DC a great upgrade just kick the nitro ;)
