We just came back last week from Elounda. This was our 3rd visit. Sue and I first went there in 1986 before the town beach was created. We went again when we were married with Kids in 2003 and now this year again 2010. A lot of businesses were struggling this year because of so few tourists. Something to do with the economy. Cant wait to go back. The BBC filmed a series 'Who Pays the Ferryman' in Elounda in 1977 and also a series called the Lotus Eaters was made in Aghios Nicolaos in 1971
