  • I now know how to introduce myself !!

  • Why all asians have tiny voices ._.

  • lessons: i called Ming = wo jiao / watched out ni hao.. waterlily

  • ah!! THANK YOU!!! I was able to pick that up quickly!! :) SO EXCITED!! You are AWESOME!! :) Wish you had a whole series! :(

  • Don't use pinyin. And if you refrain from trying to speak in the beginning stages, you won't have any problem with tones, so there's no need to learn about tones.

  • HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LI LI ;)

  • Very good and explained

  • So basically, Watch OUT TheChosenOneDR!

  • @edpinkgurl I was serious. I see how it can be easy but this was my first time ever attempting to learn. I'm going to pay for a class in the city and learn it that way

  • lol... now that was way way to simple.

  • sounds like "Watch out"

  • @jpbackintown Finding words in a familiar language is of a great help.

  • @jpbackintown more like wo chau?

  • Спасибо=) Вы действительно помогаете учить китайский язык=)

  • Watch out Lili

  • And i thought that English was a hard-ass pronunciation language (i'm not an english native speaker)...

  • Omg I'm in over my head.

  • @andomaxcha Don't worry, you can do this!

Just take it a little slower--maybe from an English speaker's perspective! You'll find what works for you!

  • @andomaxcha Are you serious or are you being sarcastic because that lesson was way to easy.

  • keep pressing 6 on ur key board but when u press leave for like a second and she looks like shes throwing up.

  • did she said watch out???

  • Im trying to find the Chinese symbol for " WITH"

  • @neppik007 In Chinese,"with" is" "和“(hé).

example:I go with you || 我和你去

  • ...at the begining of the video, the blonde one has an accent.

  • wo jiao bu laien

  • can't i replace tones with facial/body expressions? :P

  • very helpful video..thanks :)

  • I have taken admission in Chinese Language Classes in Lahore Pakistan. I am learning it from very basic phonetics. It is an excellent lesson plan for beginners. Thanks a lot.

  • feck me them different tones are difficult! My tongue is trying but failing haha

  • WO Jiao is like am doing kung fu

  • Know what I don't get? People (Americans that I know... a.k.a. not language nerds like me :P) say that Japanese is the hardest language ever, but CHINESE IS WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY HARDER

  • @Jeremeeeful That's not true at all. One simple problem with learning Japanese lies in a cultural difference. Now, this information is from 10 years ago but, to my knowledge, Japanese people still find offence to Westerners speaking their language. This may not be true for younger Japanese but again many do not like it. I find Chinese people much more helpful and if anything possessing enthusiasm with the prospect of teaching a foreigner Chinese. This isn't true for all Japanese/Chinese tho.

  • @911today I meant difficult as in grammar, not culture.

  • @Jeremeeeful chinese isn't hard.!

  • @zanuxiite yeahhhhh... I learned that now :P

  • i am fluent............. like this is soooooo totally beginner ?!?!?! but anyway thanks ming xxxxxx

  • Not bad! Nice emphasis on the tones--I just hope new learners don't take the idea of being angry (regarding the fourth tone) to the extreme! This will cause you to stand out from native speakers who actually tend to descend the fourth tone with much more grace.

  • ni hao wo jiao Yuga! xie xie lause Ming

  • that was confusing...after she said wo jiao Lilly she mentiones somewords ...

  • @josecuervo1984 , in the first introduction where she meets Jo she says "Wǒ jiào lì lì, nǐ ne?" Which means "I am called Lili, and you?

During the practice of the words 'Wǒ' and 'jiào', she says in English "Good, have another go!"

  • @josecuervo1984 , in the first introduction where she meets Jo she says "Wǒ jiào lì lì, nǐ ne?" Which means "I am called Lili, and you?

During the practice of the words 'Wǒ' and 'jiào', she says in English "Good, have another go!"

  • What did she say wo jiao Lilly??? Ni hao? I heard some ....

  • haha btw tht said, Hello! my name is jenna, i am 13 years old. i speak english and a little chinese. goodbye!

  • Xie Xie! :o)

  • I'm glad that we also have this a and o and so on in germany too there are not many unknown sounds

It must be difficult for english speakers

  • @TheApfelkern I learned German first before trying this. I must say it has helped to learn another language too to get a feel for making different pronounciations.

  • wo jiao cindy

  • "Fastly" is not English. Maybe you should sort that out before trying Chinese!

  • @multatuli100

Why would you need to sort this out before trying Chinese?

  • ni hao !!

  • None of you understand. Mandarin is spoken very quickly and understanding it is like putting puzzle pieces together the tone is used in small phrases.Other wise it is just very fast but once you have the hang of it it is quite simple.

  • you are the idiot. how can you say " none of you understand"? your saying 55,582 people who have watched this dont understand? and you are watching a begginers lesson on mandarin? LOL idiot.

  • 你是白痴

  • Am I the only one who realizes that when the girl in pink says "ni hao, wo jiao..." she gets rid of the tones and nothing sounds as the other girl taught. So, if in the Chinese language tones are very important how are we going to understand the language if they don't use the tones when they speak fastly?

  • @ijansk she actually does pronounce the tones; she is just speaking quickly so she doesn't exaggerate them as the original speaker does. when teaching, people tend to exaggerate the tones. when speaking at a natural pace the tones are a bit more subtle.

  • It's very simple !(这个太简单啦!)

  • ni hao

  • nimen hao. wo jiao dan. wo xiang "wo jiao" shi bu dui, shi ni jiao shenme mingzi ma? xiexie

  • "Wo jiao" de yi si shi "I am called." "Ni jiao shenme mingzi?" de yi si shi "What name are you called by?"

  • @narai09 literal translation never worked before.

  • hehe, I was just replying to DG1033, I think he/she was confused about something.

  • good lesson! nice voice - she sounds so sweet and cute.lol

  • this is great. only 3 videos in all though. but thanks for the ones uploaded.

  • This is really good. It explains very well the tones! Thanks!

  • This small lesson was very helpful. Thank you! : )

  • This is a realy good lesson!!! I think that it is very helpful. Many thanks

  • Comment removed

  • its zai jian

  • Sai tien or sai tien la

  • xay jyen semething like that

  • Hi yes, good point. The word 'ni' usually has the dipping third tone but when it is combined with another third tone as in 'hao' it changes to the rising second tone. This just makes the phrase easier to say :)

  • So it's sort of a "sonic contraction"! Nice!

  • Wo Jiao yang si yan ni jiao sen me?

  • Comment removed
