Jan, the Bible contains many verified words and teachings from God Himself. Not all, but some people are searching for a version of the Bible which is the most accurate translation to the English language of those original testimonies. That isn't witchcraft. Choosing a version of the Bible because it is a "favorite", however, is a form of idolotry. We are to hear the words of God both in testimony AND in spirit. It is not an exclusion since God's kingdom is not divided.
@777NewSaint Pharisees knew also scriptures, but they didn't know Jesus and were lost. They had no relationship with Jesus. Now we also have the Holy Spirit for what Jesus did on the cross. Imagine - being face to face with Almighty God for countless eons, knowing the deepest and secrets of heaven and being bathed in the light and knowledge of God every moment. Only to turn away from it and rebel against the one who created him. Knowledge of God's word was not enough to save him. Satan lacked something in his heart and so with the free will he was given he turned. We need so much more than a knowledge of the scriptures not to end up just as he did. It must go beyond knowledge.

I can only contribute my own mistake: I read the Bible through several times and used to believe it held every answer, like you said brother Jan, I thought it was a "magic book". I have come to realize after many mistakes and wandering through life spiritually blind and deaf that I need something more than a book to find my way in the darkness. I need to know Jesus. For so many years I tried to make Him known but I didn't know Him.

We learn through parables told by Jesus, we learn to know what, why and how the events that took place that led up to the crucifixion of our Lord and how he rose again.

I never said or thought God can be contained and though I believe the bible has gone through various mistranslations through the years, the word of God is still the word of God. You know the original bible text can be viewed if you search the internet. I always place Jesus first but I do believe when you start doubting his word, then whats to stop you from doubting that Jesus is Lord. His testimony is in the bible.

God does not lie in the scriptures and if it is the holy spirit speaking he will not contradict his word. he isn't on the one hand going to say something like, love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself, and turn around and say something like curse your neighbor,, curse him to death! Cry out to the lord for wisdom and understanding and He will give it to you but be prepared to be convicted of somethings in your life. The holy spirit will convict you. Why are we believers continually arguing against each other? I will say one thing for certain, I was grown up and risen the exact way how Jan preaches to others. Let me tell you about my cousins.. they lived in an apartment above a church out in an area where a lot of devil worshipping went on. The apartment was haunted with demonic spirits. Choosing a version of the Bible because it is a "favorite", however, is a form of idolotry. We are to hear the words of God both in testimony AND in spirit. It is not an exclusion since God's kingdom is not divided.

@777NewSaint Pharisees knew also scriptures, but they didn't know Jesus and were lost. They had no relationship with Jesus. Now we also have the Holy Spirit for what Jesus did on the cross. Because we have the Holy Spirit, we must learn to hear from Him what He says about the bible. So don't focus to much on the bible, but pay more attention to the relationship that you have with God and become his friend. I think that this is what Jan means with his words. Imagine - being face to face with Almighty God for countless eons, knowing the deepest and secrets of heaven and being bathed in the light and knowledge of God every moment. Only to turn away from it and rebel against the one who created him. Knowledge of God's word was not enough to save him. Satan lacked something in his heart and so with the free will he was given he turned. We need so much more than a knowledge of the scriptures not to end up just as he did. It must go beyond knowledge.

They did not understand that the one those scriptures spoke of walked before them. That the "word of god" is not words on paper but a living being - Jesus. Satan was no different. He was the highest and most beautiful of all angels. He knows the scriptures well. But it did not stop his pride from turning him against God.

Satan used the scriptures to tempt Jesus. The Pharisees used the scriptures to condemn Jesus and persecute His followers. Cults have used the scriptures to destroy the lives of many. Like our legal system, people can warp and twist the scriptures and present them in a skewed perspective to make any point they wish or promote any kind of doctrine they choose.

I can only contribute my own mistake: I read the Bible through several times and used to believe it held every answer, like you said brother Jan, I thought it was a "magic book". I have come to realize after many mistakes and wandering through life spiritually blind and deaf that I need something more than a book to find my way in the darkness. I need to know Jesus. For so many years I tried to make Him known but I didn't know Him.

Then you will hear from God and he will show you the way and open up the mysteries of God to you, as well as the mysteries and truths in scripture.

But, through the God breathed Bible, we are able to learn more about the historical events the bible teaches and apply to today. We learn through parables told by Jesus, we learn to know what, why and how the events that took place that led up to the crucifixion of our Lord and how he rose again.

If he does then he could doubt Jesus really went to the cross for our sins and turn away from Jesus and being saved, since God's salavtion plan is in the book and therfore were shown to be false to him. I never said or thought God can be contained and though I believe the bible has gone through various mistranslations through the years, the word of God is still the word of God. You know the original bible text can be viewed if you search the internet. God does not lie in the scriptures and if it is the holy spirit speaking he will not contradict his word. he isn't on the one hand going to say something like, love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself, and turn around and say something like curse your neighbor,, curse him to death! In that case it is not the holy spirit and if we think it is then we are decieved we need to ask jesus to give us revelation through the scriptures.

To take the Word as a dead letter (Logos) kills, and not as Rhema ; the Word spoken directly to your heart by the Spirit and revealed to you by the Father. @finalcall07 Oh my, I have thrown that away a couple of years ago. When I found out that it was full of lies, I wanted it out of in my house. I don't really know if I am "saved." That word is thrown out there so loosely. Most Christians say " all you have to do is say this prayer, and boom your are saved." I have always known God. I hear His voice. Cry out to the lord for wisdom and understanding and He will give it to you but be prepared to be convicted of somethings in your life. The holy spirit will convict you. If you have any doubts ASK wait on God and seek his counsel first. Spend time in the word and ask the lord to teach you and show you who He wants you to be. Most of all surrender to Him and he will lead you one small step at a time.

It is complicated, but I think I understand what you are suggesting! I believe the answers lay within the believers. A believer can not and will not be mislead. A person projects their inner most beliefs and twist anything written into what they want to believe. A child of God will not allow that to occur, they believe with their whole heart that Jesus is their God and KING and loves all his children intensely. God gives more than he will ever take. He gives us joy with abandon.

@longballhitter16 Dear friend, Jesus Christ is the only God who is alive and who will answer you if you seek Him. All the other religions are just beliefs, they could just as well believe in trees. If you go on your knees and ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you, He will, maybe not immediately, but He will and you will know that He is real and alive.

@jhuntphx2005 well said, jhunt. Religion is manmade, that is an undeniable fact and therefore greatly influenced by man. There are so many different translations we simply do not know what in the bible is fact vs. fiction. Because of this, I have 100% faith in the Lord but 0% faith in the bible. I'm sure some of these bible bangers will slam this post and tell me I'll burn in hell forever, whatever, that's fine, let them think they are right. Their faith blinds their common sense, it is sad

This woman has been a christian for 2 decades and Jesus is clearly telling her to convert to Islam.
Should this woman just blindly follow the voice of Jesus and convert to Islam?

Or else, how would you be able to follow Him? The first believers were led by the Holy Spirit, they did not have magic books. They burned the books when they accepted Jesus.

Do not LIMIT the Spirit of God. I have been taught by Him personally and realize that it ain't about trying to put God in a human 'box'. Who taught you the scriptures? If it was a human then he is your god....if it was the Spirit of God then I can ask you How do I know whether it was the Spirit of some demonaical entity?

No Jan, it is not witchcraft. It is not witchcraft because we know that the Bible will never contradict God's voice, for that word was sent from God. We know that that word was inspired by God. There is power in the teachings of the Bible because God has properly planted His truth within it so that when we read, we may read with understanding as guided by the Spirit. God will never contradict his written word. Are you stating that what is written is false?

Why are we believers continually arguing against each other? I will say one thing for certain, I was grown up and risen the exact way how Jan preaches to others. People are misunderstanding him that the Bible is witchcraft. We need Jesus to be saved, nothing else. The Bible tells us about Jesus but then we need to get to know Jesus, through prayer and He will reveal Himself to us. Once we have read the words of Jesus we need to practice them, not just keep on studying.

Great Message Jan! So many people fail to understand the power of Jesus. They use the Bible and only the Bible as their only way to heaven. They don't have the Holy Spirit to guide them and they do not follow Jesus. They live in sin and continoues arguments. We must continue to pray for these people.

It is about a relationship with Jesus Christ. After all no man can come to the Father except through Jesus Christ. It doesn't say the `bible` is the truth the way and the life. It is important that we have a pure heart towards Jesus. If there is anything in our way of having a good relationship with Jesus, then we must be radical in cutting that off so it doesnt stand in the way of the relationship with Jesus. When you know alot of scripture by heart, the Holy Spirit uses that to instruct aswell

From what I have been taught by Holy Spirit. The scriptures are to lead you to the Holy Spirit. Once you hear the H.S. the Scriptures become a 2nd witness as the H.S. will reveal hidden things in the scriptures. If you are not receiving revelation from H.S. Then you are not hearing H.S. You are hearing a false spirit. If you are hearing a false spirit then there is hidden sin within your heart. You have some repenting to do. The Bible was never meant to be worshipped as your final authority.

How can anyone say yeah or nay, Only you can know the truth. It brings to mind, a video i saw the other day,, Madonna, covered head to toe (including face) in red, She was quoting word for word Revelations, (she is a pagan) for the life of me i couldnt understand why or what she was doing. I got such a terrible feeling from it, i only watched a minute of it. I couldnt place the feeling, later i saw a video about u, or a title, witchcraft.. kinda felt like it hit the nail on the head.
