after how many km does a 240 diesel engine need restoration?400000km?and what's the price for full engine restoration?

@mddaredevil you mean service or over haul? a Mercedes diesel engine can go 1 000 000 kms without overhaul easy, only if you can maintain it.. my 240D -83 has only done 336000 kms and is fine as hell!

engine dont sound that bad plus that engine is solid as a rock my old man used to have the 300d version and it went on to some what 380,000 miles and was still running like a watch when he sold it its an incredible machine and a german marvel. Im not angry that you are having fun in 1 im actually impressed that its still running after a beating its had.

The key broke inside the lock, that's why we have to use the screwdriver. lol

And if i was going to hijack a car, i would have taken something faster and cooler than an old Mercedes diesel with a broken engine!

It's the idleing speed adjuster, to make the engine idle when it's cold.
