I find Paita fresh, exciting, and "sensical", I own a Jochum at 78 min, a Furtwangler at 77 min, and a Klemperer at 72 min (1957 live Kolner Rundfunk) !
I treasure all 3 ofthem, along with a half dozen other I own,
The Celebidache 8th is maybe 90+ min. Now we are talking nonsensical !
Païta's tempi are simply nonsensical! Symphony No. 8 in C Minor1887/90 Mixed Versions. Ed. Robert Haas [1939]: Abendroth: 82:28 Goodall: 89:20 Haitink: 88:30 Horenstein: 81:28 Jochum: 82:39 Karajan: 85:30 Kempe: 82:10 Klemperer: 81:00 Konwitschny: 81:13 PAÏTA: 73:41 Schuricht: 79:45 Wand: 88:00 Carlos Païta had a major problem with his dog. The dog wanted to check the statement of RCA Victor - His Master's Voice -: listened BUT NOT RECOGNIZED HIM! Mr. Païta, please, live Bruckner alone!

Carlos Païta is good but the brass section needs some refinement.
