Near as I can tell, it's supposed to be sort of a sarcastic and ironic rendition of the rise of certain types of musicians.

It's about a musician's rise up the the ladder of popularity, and his music quickly becomes annoying and he becomes very arrogant and unpleasant, and begins to resent fame in a manner.

It's sort of vague. Sounds like a description of Kanye West to me :p
