I've been really really trying to understand the clip and the *true* meaning of this song... Is the clip showing how they actually formed together as a band? From their shady origins of merely dreaming a band together i.e. "christmas '58" to the plan/design of it in "the study?" I don't know much on the history of the band but that's my interpretation..

Put it on my NEW pioneer stereo and played it over. Called the neighbour in, a young woman named Adrienne and asked if she wanted to hear the most beautiful song ever recorded. I played Don't Dream and she was stunned by how perfect this song was. It's as clear as yesterday. Nostalgia- I think its the best antidote.

The video for this timeless piece is so spot on with me that I'm unable to watch it without tears welling up. The line I quoted in my comment about tales of war and waste comes in just after the date 1965 is displayed on the video, and when it does, I'm unable to dissuade my thoughts from returning to the decade from 1965-1975 when Vietnam fucked up the whole world so badly that it has never recovered.
