That is true for flamethrowers made since ww2, but older flamethrowers did have that kind of problem, although they often didn't explode, just set thier user on fire which is bad enough.

Not within a bunker, you fire it while standing OUTSIDE a bunker. It may be used in the open, too - it is good for clearing out trenches.

i guess you missed something. They arent outlawed, they dont just use them anymore.

Becuse modern warfare dont include trenches, caves and bunkers (unless you are fighting the vietcong) and therefore they are not that effective anymore.

But if the need comes for a flamethrower they will use them.

Not to mention the politcan consequence of using flamethrower, any country that used it wouldn't look good in the eyes of the rest of the world.

Well obviously none of you have ever seen what happens when someone shoots the fuel tank on the soldiers back. That is a huge reason why we dont use flamethrowers anymore. If that tank got punctured, and you were near an open flame, you and who ever is within 25 feet of you is screwed.

Actually it's been said flamethrowers were banned because it's a cruel way to die. Hell if it is the enemy the gun is pointed at let the bastard burn I don't care. When in war you have no remorse for the enemy. It won't explode unless you are near an open flame. Otherwise if shot the tanks won't explode.

Not true, look it up. A bullet won't blow up a flamethrower. It's made out of metal that doesn't spark because that would just be dumb. The worst that could happen was they would hit the pressurized part and jolt you forward a few feet.

Also if you know, new flamethrower can shot over 200-500 meter and this not so heavy weight. Also they add poisons, that's make single breaths put to sleep or even kill enemy.

People rarely use those flamethrower, because it's too expensive and need like for over 200 enemies at the distance of their comrades
