beautiful, and I like the the way how he play it!...ps thanks to Muse....that's why i'm here!because of muse's cover!...now i know even Mr Gershon Kingsley
This song actually comes from an alternate universe where every object, food, species, and concept has a naturally-ordained theme. This is such a theme, meant for popcorn, that Kingsley managed to smuggle across to this universe.
This song was played to me by a teacher at school in about 1983 (i was 6) as part of music appreciation. It never left my mind. I can't believe I was exposed to such great electronic music before it was even close to being mainstream! August is a Legend!
I just want to say to Mr. Kinglsey, you are a true artist. This song is beautiful in every media in which I have heard it, from your piano piece, to a keyboard, to pots and pans.
Speaking as one artist to another, you have created something that enriches the soul and your work will continue to influence the world long after our lifetime.
Your name deserves to be remembered with Mozart, Chopin and Bach. Thank you.
Gershon is a sweet soul. I have had the privilege of meeting him at his apartment in NYC. He is one of the early proponents of Musique concrete in the US but still is fond of this piece of "popcorn" he wrote. Also, he is very well known not only on electronic music circles but in sacred Jewish music, having written dozens of compositions for the synagogue and the concert hall. His V'ne'emar is probably his most well known synagogue work. bravo, maestro!
this honestly sounds like some nobuo uematsu final fantasy shit played on piano haha, this guy should compose some music for video games, shit now a days im hearing is repetitive garbage
@saluut2001 fyi, he didn't composed it for the piano. The first version was made on a synthetizer of that time named a Moog (after Dr. Moog, who invented it).
@valerock667 -- He was one of the pioneers, not the sole creator. Anton Weyburn, John Cage, Pierre Schaeffer, Olivier Messiaen, Karlheinz Stockhaausen, Iannis Xenakis, and many othrs contributed to this either contemporarily to or even earlier than Kinglsey. But Kinglsey is absolute genius. No argument
I'm starting to get into electronic music and Kingsley and Jarre have to be my favorite so far, because they pretty much made the electronic music genre. What other good ones are out there I should know about?
@Krkrbs419 From not well known artist my personal recomendation is Marek Bilinski, 80s east block electronic music with classical and rock elements plus one of best minimoog solos I heard.
Also Wendy Carlos, Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, Isao Tomita (in case you are very fresh into genre).
I also recommend to look into different genres of electronic dance music, you can dig up there something interesting between loads of trash :)
Eight people are Los angeles, Montreal, buffalo, pitsburg, st louis, tampa bay, detroit, and phoenix fans. (the 8 teams that have beaten vancouver this year in the NHL vancouver's only 8 losses)

Mr. Kingsley: I'd like to tell you that Popcorn's Hot Butter version was the first vinil record I ever had. It was given to me i 1972 and I was 13. I immediately felt something so special to this music that I still can't explain it after 40 years. Then I read your unknown name on the record and just thought you were a Kind of God to music. I think this work is unique and unmatcheable by any other musician ever. It's an all time best music. Thank you Mr Gershon Kingsley!!

That really blows the top of my head off. On the Moog it is groundbreaking electro-pop, then the composer makes it magical on the piano. Beautiful and over too quickly.

" Во хмелю возвратился домой,
ночью проснулся - услышал
шум дождя.
Очнулся от сна,
Слушаю шелест дождя.
Возле окна осенние листья лежат - Ночью, наверно,
кружился, шумел листопад. Забыл, как вернулся, -
был охмелевший такой,
спальню свою за гостинничный
принял покой."
