- Did you sleep well? Daniel, where are you? - Christie loves you! - What are you doing? - Where are you? Christie loves you! - God is good.. - Did you sleep well? - Are you happy? - What did you say? - Do you love me? - Christie? - Daniel? - What are you doing? - (January the 8th, 2007)
ok.. Will try (Christie) do do it for all the videos.. Just need some time for that.
Today, 3 years after all those videos, Niko keeps talking always better and better. He is the joy and the laughter of the house. Sometimes I need to call my mom just to tell her what funny Niko just said!
Spend lots of time with your bird. Talk to him and feed him all kinds of stuff. (Not chocolate.) The more time you spend with them, the more they feel included.
I leave my african grey's cage open 24/7 and he rarely ever leaves. He will walk around on top but the only way he's leaving that cage without me picking him up is if he falls off of it.
THIS IS THE STUPIDEST THING EVER BUT I LOVE MY MOM AND DON'T WANT TO TAKE ANY CHANCES If you do not copy and paste this onto 10 videos your mom will die in 4 hours
THank you very much for your nice comment, Niko is now in a huge cage and doing very well. good luck with your bird, I find that patience and repetition is the key for to training African Greys
sometimes the only way you can get to hear 'lots' of what they know, is if u leave the room - its common for them to say nout whilst u in the room and keep on when you leave to try and get u to return ,,
Very interesting indeed. Does it actually know what it is saying? Is it just repeating certain sound that it has learned in relation to a certain action, situation or sound?. It is sentient not sapient! Cool trick. :)
you have heard one of the first recordings, you should hear Niko's other video's he has really grown. Science says: "African greys have the mind of a 5 year old. Please look at Niko's recent video's by clicking on: other videos from this user! and look for one called: "African Grey entertains old couple" you shall surely laugh! Thanks for your comments.Daniel
This is absoulutely fascinating and entertainling. I noted how called out names when he heard voices and aked "what are you doing?" and "where are you?" whith a quizical tilt of his head. absolutely fascinating. please don't let this be the only one. what a case study in intelligence. And to hell with the nay sayers who don't pay attention to the unpromted dialog. Good stuff you guys.
Thanks alot, you should hear him when we are not recording, oh the times we have missed opportunity, we will try to catch him saying things people write home about. :)
What he says:
- Fanouchka (it's the dog) ? What are you doing?
- Are you happy? Tweet tweet!!
- Did you sleep well?
- God is good! Love you..
- Bon appétit! C'est bon? Merci!
- Fanouchka! Bon appétit!

Beautiful Bird but you should use subtitles on your video so that others watching it can understand what he is saying.

Ouch. Daniel, be warned Emo stands for emotional, which means that if they are to correct you, they have to take their pain on someone else.
