  • My name is Alex! I feel special now!

  • Anyone know the name or have any information on the victor knife posted on my page please let me know thank you. LOOKS VERY SIMILAR TO THIS ONE BUT JUST THE SINGLE LARGE BLADE

  • @samstterhamstteer

    It's a Solo.

  • @samstterhamstteer It's called a sentry from what I have gathered :) Try google to find it.

  • my Secretary has cut me like 5 times in the first day i had it

  • @Cutlerylover7 Fire her.

  • I carry a Victorinox for the philips screwdriver (instead of the corkscrew). My only complaint is they don't seem to use a good steal for the knife blade. I'll sharpen it, use it once, and it's dull immediately. The Philips though is just too handy.

  • Grate video man! I have the Victorinox Excelsior... It's very simillar, but it have a key ring!

  • Thats what i need. Thanks for this review, excellent! Already order in Amazon.

  • tehe a SAK

  • @BrainSalad212 nut SAK. lol

  • I saw this the other day and liked it. Might pick one up when I go to get my Leatherman squirt.

  • i looking fo a sak that is like the super tinker but without the parcel hook and has a saw. does anyone have any suggestions.

  • Thats a big box for a very small knife.

  • i just bought mine and it is coming on tuesday. you can get it for $15 from amazon. it great and thin and well......... its victorinox!!!!

  • You should only open one blade at a time

since they share the same spring.

  • I got one recently - instant classic...you know how SAKs are...esp the alox scales....Im buying a couple more to keep. Perfect pocket knife as stated. They will eventually not make these in this simple config, wish they came in colors....good find, i had my eye on this knife - no one has reviewed it yet? wow...

  • I like this knife a lot. I have the classic already and it is my favourite knife. Maybe after christmas. How long is the blade?

  • Would you say the spring on this is as strong as that on the classic?

  • check out swissbianco splash victorinox

  • Where in the world did you get one for $13?! D:

    *Is rather poor.*

  • can you do a vid on your WHOLE collection please

  • that would ride in my pocket all day

  • eat my sak bitch

  • How much does it go for?

  • i use my lil blade for sharpening pencils

  • thats a very imature attitude about knives...your like many who feel knives are cool when they are big, scary, and dangerous...your one of the few peopel who ONLY see knives as weapons which is a shame...

  • he should also probably not be in possesion of knives and people like him are the reason for gun and knife laws

  • OH that would be so awesome to have when i wear my suit. very classy. great review man

  • @cutlerylover so true

  • nah a pussy is someone who needs a big knife to feel like a tough guy.

  • that sak is sexy, never seen it before.

real real sexy, and for that price! damn thats worth it, gonna go look into buying one

  • i literally am about to buy it online

  • lamo

  • I just ordered mine yesterday!

  • Ive been looking for a gentleman folder for a wedding I'm attending, This is perfect.

  • Nice knife, great for an EDC. Very disapointing to hear about the outsourcing to China.

    5/5

  • Don't forget to click on the adds in CL's vids.

  • Since you never use the small blade, why not carry a Bantam when you want to carry a "gentleman's" SAK? Both are single layered alox SAK's but at least you'll have a bottle opener with the Bantam. I realize you collect and the Secretary is probably not an SAK you carry very often, if ever. It's a nice SAK, good review.

  • i hear victorinox will be outsourcing a lot of the knife manufacturing to china, which is disappointing to hear.

  • Could be good could be bad.

Pro- cheaper knives! None of us like paying a lot of money for anything we buy a lot of!

Con- pulls money from the North American economy and drops it into China.

While Im always for the use of domestic products and production facilities, as long as the quality control proceedures are the same, I dont much care where it came from.

All in, I'd rather pay a little more for a knife made here, rather than a little less for the chinese labour...

  • i thought they were supposed to be swiss made. i'm not aware of victorinox being made in america.

  • More of a general example of outsourcing rather than a specific comment in regards to the SAK...

Yes, Swiss made to the best of my knowledge, good catch too.

  • if the quality of the chinese made victorinox knives is good, no problem i suppose. "made in china" stamped on a swiss army knife doesn't seem right to me though. if prices will go down that's a bonus, but i'm the kind of guy who doesn't mind paying more for something superior. or maybe they'll be sneaky and charge the same for the chinese made ones. i'm not from the states but the u.s. makes some sweet knives...i'm an avid sypderco collector.

  • lol i typed sypdergo, :-D i meant spyderco. i should be more careful , i don't want to give those chinese knock-off manufacturers any ideas for names lol.

  • swiss quality!

  • he collects

  • utility work almost every day

  • Comment removed

  • @jake0the0muss some ppl like to collect... like little kids and pokemon cards lol

  • I think I need one now. =)

  • Looks like a nail clip...

  • My dad has a Victorinox 'pocket pal' he's had it forever, no problem falling out of his jeans either it's so light weight and durable it's great, from what i see, in fact he has used it so much the red is coming off of the aluminum it looks cool.

  • Comment removed

  • The worst cut i got from a knife was a cheap locking blade. I was closing it and the blade just slipped out of my hand quarter inch cut in my index finger and i had scout camp the weekend.

  • my SAK and Wenger are fleshy

  • what about that exact knife exept with metal/steel scales (red finish)

  • Here's a quick one though, does the Aluminum Oxide bend because it is so thin?

  • no but it cna dent...

  • thats funny almost all of my victorinoxes have not been able to cut paper out of the box

  • sorry to ehar of your bad luck, I have owned dozens for various palces bought online and off and have never got a dull one...

  • @cutlerylover hey man, do you like the secretary or pocket pal better?

  • Same with me. Wenger never lets me down, though.

  • What setting is it on your camera that makes it bounce around all over the place? Like it is trying to follow whatever is moving on the screen. Get motion sickness watching these vids.

  • its an auto feature I cant shut off..

  • Gotchya. Seems like it would be a good feature. Just have been noticing that it seems to move more lately then it did in prior vids. Still good vids. Thanks.

  • I really like that knife. Thanks for the review. For those formal occasions I usualy carry a Vic Waiter. That thing is slim though, if it had a lanyard hole somewhere I bet it would be great for a keychain knife.

  • I carry a Wenger Patriot when I am all dressed up. It is the equivalent to the Secretary. I got it for the sole purpose of using when I am wearing a nice pair of wool slacks or when wearing my uniform at a function. A multitool or large knife just does not work in those situations. And the chicks dig it when they need a knife in those situations and your able to produce it. Hell, I don't carry a wallet on those occasions. Some days you just got to look good and presentable. A Gentleman.

  • Those small blades are hell on wheels when it comes to gutting fish!!!

  • I disagree, personally, not having a practical need for a tactical knife, I would say a wedding would be the perfect application for one. In fact, what better place to pull out a tactical knife than at a wedding.

  • a funeral

  • tactical knives offer more than defense use, they often offer convinience like one ahnd openeing fast deployment, sometiems light weight, what most of use dont take advantage of its its hard use construction...

  • An excellent idea. As a matter of fact my brother's and I carry Glocks in Galco shoulder holsters on those special days where your basic Fobus is just not enough

  • why don't you do any zippo videos anymore

  • I do just not as often I actually have a new zippo review comming soon..

  • ok

good good, i was gonna make a few of my own aswell to see what people thought of them

  • My thumb goes up in favour of @ caruso941 's viewpoint, imo, fantastic vid's and not all clinical and scripted, I am all for relaxed !!

  • so do you actually own all of the knives in your videos, because there are so many vids. i find it hard to believe that you own all of the guns knives, and so forth. im not sayin your poor, dont get me wrong, i find it odd that you own ten something guns and several knives. good knives, too.

  • yes I own everythguin you have seen in all of my videos to dat with the exception of 2 or 3 knives, the busse knife I mention in teh video was on loan for the review as well as the one custom folder from SRT...evertythgin else I owned, but I dont just go out and buy everythgin, most of what you see was traded, I dont currently own everythginj you saw either alot of what I showed was traded off for the new stuff you see...

  • Please make a video showing all of your SAK's please please

  • Just some info on gun ownership @ptowndrummer - About half of US gun owners report owning an average of 8 guns. Depending on your frame of reference, having 10 guns might seem unusual but on the other hand, most of the households I am familiar with either own 0 guns or they own a dozen guns. Just depends on where you are and who you know I guess.

  • to reply to the guy who said he dosent like reviews like this because there is to much side tracking, thats the reason i watch your videos you get personal with everything whether it is a story from when you were a kid which i canmore than often relate to or just telling how you use said knife in a given day. i really enjoy your videos thanks man. if they were scripted they would suck haha.

  • kewl love ure vids

  • were can u buy that knife

  • no offence , i understand that you love knives , but i don't think you are ever gonna use all of them in a real situation

  • He collects a lot of knives, and he probably carrys most of them too for self-defense. What's wrong for being prepared for a "real situation"?

  • i am sorry for offensing anyone i apologize for my lack good sense

  • self defense is the last reason I carry my knives, I use them for utility work daily at work and out fo work...they are tools 1st

  • Probably not. But I, and Cutlerylover understand that it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Knives are tools first, not weapons. Anything can become a weapon. I won't mention that nail hammer that I have sitting in my tool kit but if employeed in the same way, I'm sure that hammer could be come more deadly than a knife but no one would freak out if someone was walking down the street with a hammer. A knife though...different story and it's incredibly pathetic.

  • Hi excuse the interrupt of your conversation with @ ptowndrummr , this was actually a question I had some time back, it's a fare question, and I congratulate you on your reply, others could well of taken the chance to kick up a fuss or whatever, nice one, appreciated

  • Psyke Marco, victorinox dates back to the 1800s

    Wenger was in the 1900's

    Btw nice vid jefd

  • I have one of these, in red with a logo from interlaken in swizerland (sp?)

I find its great as a light duty knife, that literally dissapears into whichever pocket I put it in. especially good for shirt pockets.

better at whittling than a leatherman too.....

  • history check, wenger is the original!!!

  • Wrong, Karl Elsener made the first Swiss army knife, he then went on to name his compant Victorinox.

  • victorinox was founded in 1884, wenger was founded in 1893, so they are close in age but victorinox is infact older and they ahve supplied the swiss army for a FAR longer tiem than wenger even though at one point the arm,y switched to a wenger model victorinox rains supreme

  • I was wrong, thanks for the history lesson. I was thinking in this way led by the "facts" of someone else!

again thank you, I love your vids!

    peace!!!

  • no problem man...I am guilty of sometiems spreading "facts" I heard from other epopel without validatign them myself, and I have people correct me , lol, no big deal though

  • I tink i might unsub, because in all your videos, you tend to stray away from whatever your talking about. I remember in one of your reviews( a knife review), you talked more about your shoes than the knife itself. Thats the reason why your videos are around 10 mins long

  • i was thinking the same thing... im keeping my reviews less than at least 5 min

  • That's a reason why some people like me enjoy his videos so much. It's not just informative like a commercial. Its like your buddy is talking to you. Every video is somewhat different. No talking points but variety. I love this kind of honest fun reviews and the longer the better. I watch Jeffs videos because I like to hear his opinion about a lot of different things. His divagation sets him apart form other "testers" here on youtube with I really like. He is more of an informative entertainer

  • Im sorry to hear you like a different kind of review, the good news is there are alot of other guys who post those such videos, straight to the point, facts boom done, 5 minutes...you will enjoy those videos more, sorry to see you go...I turn the camera on and start talking as if a person is in front of me, thats what I do, I dont stick to a certain format, some like that some dont...

  • Im just sayin, when i want a review of say a knife, i want to here facts about the knife. Not facts about where you got your shoes.

Im not going to unsub, because i really enjoy some of your videos. Especially the gun tests. Awesome.

  • I know what your saying, its just that woitn change, thats just my personality commin gout on the videos, if you want pure facts and no personality a review can literally be 2 minutes long, how entertaining is that to watch? there is no script so I do get sidetracked, but thats just how it is, I know I cant please everyone I just do what comes naturally...

  • Agreed Cutlerylover

  • That knife would be nicer with 1 blade so its shorter, perfect for wallet knife.

  • thats a good looking knife man. one of the first kniives i got was a PPal. i got it from my grand parents. so not is it only an awesome knife it also holds sentimental value for me. but mine has got an extra feature. it has a small split ring to use for a lanyard or something.

  • I love that knife, I got it free from my friend a while ago

  • I wish I had enough money to buy you another camera. This one makes me dizzy. Especially when I'm drunk ;-)

  • Yeah...thats the auto movement tracker program in the camera.

I hate them. Turn it off and it would be soooo mush better to watch.

  • u should get this baby

    SwissChamp XAVT

  • because he is the nephew of advil p.m.

  • I really love victorinox. They're really reliable but i don't like how they don't have the knob that helps you flick it out easier. I like to open my knives fast. And I can't do that with many victorinox knives.

  • theres no jimping on that knife .......in a tactical situation that could be a problem..lol

  • if your using a (traditonal type) sak as a "tactical knife" you've got a problem whatever, their just not built to take the abuse that tactical knives are. they are a pocket tool/light use knife.

for example a hammer is useless as a precision screwdriver, but you can't use the precision screwdriver to put in a nail....

    different tools for different tasks.

  • Cool Vid Man!

    5/5

  • awesome, i think you should review the bm 940 or sog vulcan mini or regular

  • wat, my classic came blunt

  • dang cool knife and great review

    5 stars

  • thats a cool knife. i might get one.

  • im not touching that 1

  • Hey man, just wondering could you show on one of your videos all of your knife collection together.

like a whole veiw of all of your knives.

    that would be awesome

  • he has one

  • Jeff just curious how many knives do you own?You have an awesome collection.

  • not much to say about it but u still managed to make it 9 minz long lol

  • i love SAK's, they are just so awesome, this one is pretty cool, i like it.

  • i just got back from a funeral a few days ago and the knife i carry the little blue case i thank i shown it in my gentleman's knife video this video reminded me of the man because he was a teacher and a secretary ... btw good review

  • Thanks, Im sorry to hear of your loss...

  • What knife would you recommend for a fixed blade for $100 or less?

  • Kabar 7"

  • he had diabetes bad ever seance he was 14 and he lives to be in his 50s and he is a lot better of now i just wish i new him longer

  • thats the one thign about death, they gte the ultimate satusfaction of knowing whats next...somethgin every living person wonders about at some point...Its wierd, I am not affraid of dying, but I dont want to die becausee I know what kind of pain that would inflict on family and friends...

  • amen

  • you sound like youve comtemplated suicide. and think about your devoted fans here

  • bo, just not afraid of dying, its interesting to find out what in store for us after death, I am a bit affriad of paijn though, dont know how it will end for me you know...but I woudl never commit suicide...

  • Hi Jeff, sorry for the interrupt but just wanted to say, imo "what's in store for us after death" thoughts on this vary and mostly hinge on id you have a "Faith" or (Religion), my Faith is in the fact that nothing happens after death, just like sleeping is the best way of explaining it, only totally blank, no dreams nightmares, Hell etc etc etc Nothing. My faith does continue on from there, but that's not for this forum.. Good vid as always Jeff, nice one.

  • I know exactly what you mean, all Im saying is no one knows...but your right this is not the place to discuss this due to such a variety of religious beliefs its bound to become an argument..

  • Absolutely, if there was one Channel that did not deserve hack and shout arguments, it's yours Jeff, I have said it before, watching listening to your vid's is like being in a chair across from the coffee table with you chatting, very relaxing and natural. Nice one.

  • Sorry for the loss :(

  • lost a member of the fam 11-23-09

  • You do know 11-23-09 hasnt ocurred yet......

  • oh my bad i was thinking of 9-11 but its

    9-23-09

  • plus i would take this or any other knife to the funeral sense he got stabbed

  • really nice knife

  • hi jeff. yeah i like victorinox, i have a huntsman, and i love it cause is not expensive and the knife is really sharp and good quality.

  • jeff are u on twitter?

  • I dig my Opinel. Victorinox's are cool too though.

  • How much?

  • i guess it depends but it says it on the box its 13.75

  • Oh wow, thats not bad at all.

  • not saying it bad but i love all you vids...nice one

  • elegant

  • my local knife shop has these secretaries but only in a blueish purple color, with the boyscouts symybol on it...lol

  • One of my least favorite SAK models. Buy it is a Victorinox.

  • kool

  • Cutlery, what do you do with your knives? Besides for defence and collecting?

  • love the knife Jeff very classy.

  • thanks, ya cant get enough of these SAK's...doesnt matter how many you have theres always another modle you woudl like to own, haha

  • nice vid
