Yes! This is a great song, BUT, I don't think it will sound as good without Butch on the keys. And, Dave can't make up coherent lyrics on the spot anymore like he used to be able to. Hate to say it, but Crazy Easy will most likely never be played again...

@dmbfan91 I disagree! Dave is an extremely talented musician and doesn't just "lose" the ability to make up good improv lyrics! He is just going a different route with Blackjack and Shotgun, etc. But that doesn't mean he couldn't pull out Crazy Easy and improv it to perfection. It's just a matter of if he wants to or not. I bet that before DMB is done, we'll see a lot of tunes like this come back for a curtain call.

to answer why its called Crazy-Easy: Well Im just pulling this out of my ass but my assumption is because the song Captain, when originally written and played, was called "Crazy" so my guess is for this song they threw the "Easy" at the end of it so the two live songs would not be confused

it was called crazy easy because of the words in the chorus he used during the first few performances. I go Crazy just to get by/ No it ain't easy trying to get by. some shit like that. but nothing ever consolidated

I never did understand the name Crazy Easy...I get the crazy part, wuts up with the Easy part...it's not in the lyrics...at least the ones I've found...and I know the first NEW songs of 04 were named by fans so, maybe that's how it happend..anyone else know? just wondering.

Amen. He IS 'One of a kind' artist, song writer and performer. Love that his lyrics tells the stories of ancient times. I love that they trigger our deep seated memories. I love him (them) for that. Thanks guys you all are 'Heaven sent'. His 'light' shines multi-dimensionaly.
