It's all greed in the end. This action will hurt the malls no more malls now!
they sell couches at wal mart.... hahaha and valium and beer - everything you need to absorb the mass media - wal mart suckers - we kicked you out of germany!
No business is good. Business is about making money and not ethics. Ethics only counts in business only if makes more money than non ethical way.
So it is the customers who are in control of ethics in business and not the business men. Buy goods from companies which are not too greedy and follows a ethical way. That way ethics will make more money and companies will follow. At the end of the day if you buy the product just because it is cheap then you are worse than a greedy business man.
What you said is correct and I'll add that ppl who work @ Walmart are as foolish as those who shop there. The company is corrupt and greedy and it is blatantly obvious.
But blame must not be removed from the subhuman CEOs of the world who make billions while their employees are paid minimum wage (If that). It's inexcusable to excuse the gluttonous behavior of these piggish mutants as "just business."
WEll it si very hard to get work, so ppl will work whereever to put food on the table. I hate their treatment of workers. All their CEo says is 'the customer must me #1" all while they screw their own employees. Sadly some of us havent much choice. Sometime u have to prostitute yourself.
its not that simple. the customer is also engaging in buisness as much as the seller. the customer is operating under similar principles as the seller. He wants to get as much stuff as possible for as little money as possible. the seller wants more and more money, the buyer wants more and more stuff for his money. you might have ethics but those ethics are not universal to all buyers. so ethics is only going to count in buisness if it benefits buyer and seller mutually, which isnt likely
Another good reason to not shop there, Wal Mart is like a giant drug deal... you get the same shit from the other guy but for half the price, that lowers their sales...peoples hours, money, pushing us more closer to a Recession. Whats wrong with the stores that were there before Wal Mart? Nothing... they just dont have all those flashy Commercials!
we ARE IN a recession. right now. what we're moving towards is a depression. and we're not far off. i'm afraid all it will take is one more presidential term of pussyfooting around, playing the same old games and the elite will have had enough time to dig in under everyone's skin (possibly even in a literal sense with those RFID chips, though the more immediate concern is the realID)
wow thanks Walmart for using slave labor in other countries so you can "roll back" prices in your stores so I can watch the Superbowl...what about the money you do not spend on employees here in the states...how about health care for your made to be part time employees...boycott Walmart
Thanks to the moron Federal Reserve increasing inflation and thus screwing over middle and poor America, a 10% cut in prices by Walmart might just keep the value of the dollar there even. If you want to keep more of your money and have that money actually be worth something, vote Ron Paul!
If you opened your eyes, you would see that the "good" that Wal-Mart does for local communities and it's Associates....far out-weighs the "Bad". My Dad always told me to "use my ears, before I use my mouth", maybe you all should try it sometime? Or, Maybe you all just need to get a life!

Wal-Mart sells crappy versions of name brand products. That is why things are cheaper there. Oh, and everything is made in China, even though Sam Walton wanted everything sold there to be made in the USA. His children sold their souls to the dollar.
Yeah, well you can thank Mr. Clinton for NAFTA. I lost my job as a direct impact of it back in 2000. What do you think the odds are of Hillary continuing this North American Union agenda?

Of course, they have their own conveyor back that gives us cheap goods we really don't need....but at least Walmart gets to pocket a few dollars from each bundle to employ that special 80 year old greeter with no benefits and scraping by on social security.
Wal-Mart's goal is to bury all major retail competition and become a total monopoly. The encroaching recession is a perfect opportunity for them to start REALLY driving the nails into the coffin. God help us if they become our primary retailer for food and clothing. You then can say GOODBYE to everyday low prices..
The intention is, its okay to buy food from there if its USA grown. You can still find some of this there, and if you live in a town where wal-mart has forced all other options to close. Then I think you have no other choice.
Monsanto has most of its gmo food growing in the U.S. Unless it is truly organic, it is poisin. It doesnt matter where it came from. Find ur local farmers market. Plus there are organic grocery stores popping up all over the country. I buy almost all my stuff at my local organic grocer. Its been open since the 70's! Good places are out there if u look for them. Wal-Fart WANTS U TO THINK that they are ur only choice, Don't be fooled.
Wal Mart's key to success is based on efficient delivery, huge volume sales and penny profits on those sales. Now if people don't have money to spend ANYWHERE then how is Wal Mart going to maintain this? They'll have to do the exact same thing that their small competitors have to do to stay afloat: raise prices.
Wal-Mart *NEEDS* you to spend your money in order to stay in business and the people that compare Tom Thumb prices to Wal-Mart *NEED* Wal-Mart. :)
walmart announces price cuts bc spending is down, and then you say that walmart is going to be forced to raise prices.
what kind of reverse logic is that??
you really need to take a economics class.
walmart is successful BECAUSE the prices are low. any business that wants to compete has to find their own MARKET SHARE. and they can do that in lots of ways besides price.
why do people pay $5 for a cup of coffee at starbucks???
If Wal-Mart lowers prices and consumers are still in a saving mode, then Wal-Mart is going to have to raise prices in order to make a profit and stay in business. Wal-Mart is absolutely dependent on mass sales with a very small profit margin. If there are no mass sales, then the profit margin slips into a loss very easily.
You are assuming that people will always be buying at Wal-Mart, if that is the case, then all there needs to be is Wal-Mart and if there is no competition then there is no need to remain competitive. However, if price is not the issue that causes people to stop shopping at Wal-Mart then Wal-Mart will either have to close stores or raise prices to remain profitable.
yes price is not the issue, its the quality of products sold in wal-mart. yes it may be cheap, but do you get satisfaction in a poorly made product? obviously not. Thats why consumers would rather buy products somewhere else, yes it may be a bit more expensive, but the quality is much better. just goto freds to buy some of that shit... no need to get it at walmart.. freds has that type of mouthwash for $1 and it's a huge bottle.. i understand your argument, but do you understand that you can get the same cheap prices at stores that serve american goods?? maybe you are just lazy...
never heard of a freds, but it doesnt matter. i buy my shit wherever i can get the best product for the best price. i buy a ton of stuff from amazon dotcom. my point is you guys are mad at the wrong people. youre biased against walmart over some bs crap youve been fed my other biased people. if you dont want to buy shit made in china, you should blame our government overtaxing and over regulating, making it cheaper to shipped shit across the ocean than produce it at home.
Wal Mart needs large volume sales to stay afloat. Lowering prices won't solve the problem unless they get those large volume sales. The only alternative is raising prices.
And who keeps saying the same thing and attempts to insult at the same time? Wal Mart will find a way, but they must keep the large volume sales up in order to sustain low prices.
unbelievable... Where did my America go? Why can't people see how BAD this is?? The Wal-Mart collective has single-handedly destroyed small towns across the nation. Corporate big brother is welcomed by the fat lazy slaves most of us have become. Wake Up, America!! This isn't how it's supposed to be!
I have no problem with Wal-Mart and shop there weekly. I actually get pissed when my wife shops at Tom Thumb. It cost as much as 50 percent more than Wal-Mart for the same items.
keep shopping there.. soon enough everyone will work there... have you ever seen the photos of how they treat dogs in china?? it's disgusting.. everytime I see a wal mart, i see cages full of dogs still alive with their mouths taped shut in my head. thats what you support when you give in for those "low prices"
Keep spending your money there and enjoy those low , low prices while you can. Once the competition is finally dead and there is no place left to shop you can enjoy their high , higher prices ! ALWAYS...:-)
Blockbuster tried that, look what it got them.......[loosing money if you didn't already know]
I shop at wal-mart because of there prices on food, if Tom Thumb by my house would price close to there prices, I would shop there. As it is, I buy mike at Wallgreens because it is 1 buck cheaper than Tom Thumb.
Demand cheaper prices from the remaining us companies and force them into china just like they did Black and Decker, Huffy, Rubbermaid, etc. Anyone who supports WalMart is a fool.
Screw Wal-Mart. I am NOT going to buy there again (except when pushed into there by family and friends, and even then I get my intended item and leave; lol it sucks me in just like in South Park)
I hate Walmart. I don't shop there, and I don't plan to.
