pageant are fine as long as the child likes it and wants to do more. I have done many pageants but small, I am 11 and I love Them! Its kind of like dance, they put makeup on the little hip hop dancers and ballerinas and they go on stage to dance, they apply that same dedication to pageants. but let me tell you you shouldn't just put your child in pageants, introduce them to more things like guitar piano singing etc., your child gets poise in pageants as long as you let your kids be happy with it

The girls are competing to win $500, $1,000? Wow, pretty pitiful compared to what they must be investing in the pageant. You got dresses, makeup, hair, coaches, fees, etc. They're probably spending MORE than they're winning. And 90% of the moms I've seen are friggin fat with huge pancake faces. I guess it's wise to dress them up all pretty before they hit puberty, because once they do, they'll all get fat like their moms.

@momtchil it's not just pageants that people are put through pressure.. Every sport whether it be hockey football baseball etc.. Every team and every Player gets pressure put on them to win... It is not subjected to pageantry.

These people will spend $1000 on a dress, $100 on hair and makeup, $300 in registration fees, etc., etc. and the grand prize at most of these things is only like $500-1000!! Most of the kids get diddly squat besides a cheap little trophy (usually everyone gets a "prize" of some sort). Such a waste of money!!

Sometimes it is. In that case, it is wrong; however, if you want to do it, it is not wrong just ask your mom if it's ok :-)
