hey autarach, im going to ask a question i think a majority of us are thinking, do you have an opinion on minecraft? And if your not into the the entire survival type thing theres a multiplayer function and you can download maps to give single player a purpose. If youd like to try one of these maps i have a short escape and run type map, if you want of course. Or you could wait until notch releases 1.8 with the adventure mode. Either way, you should try it.

Actually, it was Link's Awakening that started that trend, and it was based off Twin Peaks in the sense that the townsfolk are all wacky and that a dream is a huge plot point.

That would carry on to later games like Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, which have all kinds of bizarre characters.

Storylines?!? NO!!! Damn it... Why must everyone do a storyline? Ok, as long as it isn't too overly serious and too important in the videos. (some people's storylines i hate, like Linkara's (ok, love AT4W, but the storylines, they are TOO serious. It's comic books, lighten up, just make some sillier stuff. the fate of the world is not in the reviewer's hands), or the Game Overthinker's (sometimes his stories interupt the review.)

Ooooh, no... not storylines, why does every reviewer I like insist on doing storylines? You're not a writer of independent drama, your a critic, you should critique things, no do stories... if people could make a decent storyline on YouTube there would be a big YouTube fiction community... there isn't, there is however a bit YouTube reviewer community. Please don't focus on the storylines, that's not why we come here. We come to hear your opinions on games, and hear a few well timed jokes.

And that's fine, like I've always said when it comes to Linkara, usually his storyline bullshit doesn't get in the way of his reviews and he's a good critic who makes good points and is genuinely funny, but he's not a writer. If you want to make short films, great, I wish you all the luck, but you're a good reviewer and it annoys me when good reviewers spend time on storylines that could be spent on more reviews because they're ignoring the thing they're good at. Still keep it up :)

I know, it's just that the storylines are always crap, usually involving being "trapped in hell/pocket dimension" or "fighting an evil clone/robot/twin of themselves", They'll have crappy special effects and piss poor acting, and it simply wastes time/effort that could be spent on more reviews or top 10 lists. Reviewers aren't writers and it's the height of hypocricy that they critique games/movies etc, when their "storylines" are ALWAYS crap. TGWTG & Game Overthinker especially.

I don't count things like Suburban Knights, because that was designed to be fiction. No, I just mean the stupid story nonsense within reviews like Linkara's "Mechakara" stuff, or Spoony's "Black Lantern" stuff or worst of all, the "Anti-Thinker" by Game Overthinker. If someone wants to do fiction great, good luck, but I wish reviewers wouldn't shoe-horn in 2 mins of story-drivel into their reviews as all it does it take production time away from the review itself.

To peanut and joshscorcher, I do have to critique your saddest moments. Now, don't get me wrong, it was great. But I believe it should've been something like a 20 to 25 countdown then a top 10. There are just way to many sad moments in gaming, whether that be the entirety of Nier. or a lot of stuff in Lost Odyessey. Heck, even saints row 2 had a few sad moments. My only problem was that it wasn't long enough, other then that, very good list if I must say. Keep up the good work!
