Parkdi, I don't think ppls here blamed Thais either. Refugees gave UN credit is because UN are the one that fed and cloths us. Those are good memories I had as a boy living the camps. There are many bad memories. Exp. in Nongkai, many families were locked in small area outside Nongkai refugee camp, were force to eat, sleep on the ground with no bathroom. Girls are raped, anyone tried to help were beaten. In Napho camp I was beaten cause my hair was long. These are my memories....

parkdi, I lived in all three camps as a boy, and I can relate to this. "Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule." IMO, Thai ppl was/is wrongely accused. Ex. "Oor- Saaw" who were guarding camps was/is Lao. I know this cause my family/relative live on both side of Mekong. We call ourselves Lao. I used to blamed Thai ppls for the hardship in the camp. Now, I know is was individual Lao that guarding the camp were the one that beaten our own kind.
