late reply, but i think it will fly if you clean the duct..... there is barrely airflow cause the rec and servo's and wires block it for at least 50%... clean it up, keep it light and it will fly!!
Its a great idea! There are only three problems that are obvious to me. 1) Intake may be to small, 2) The electronics are blocking smooth airflow to creat trust, and 3) the plane may either weigh to much or not have enough power. I would love to see a larger version of this fly, good luck :)
Yea with all them electrics in the way youll never get the thing to give you a nice clean jet of air. Grab a toilet roll tube or something, cut it and reform it, should work.
The vid says it doesnt fly, I think I see the problem and it is easily fixed, You need to tapper the front of your wings. look up "Bernoulli's Principle" The cool thing is
With foamies type planes, all you need is a 45 degree taper on the edges of your wings, you can get this with a tool that holds a exacto knife at a 45 degree angle and make the cut on the front edge and back edge of wing. It will make that plane fly, Your plane is good design and I am sure it can fly KFM helps too!
all the plane needs to fly is speed, the nano bandit is a free PDF plan of rc groups and it is designd for a 40mm ducted unit i think i was abit optamistic by putting a 32mm unit it just haswn't the power to keep it up. (thank's for commenting :) )
Dude, I love how you mounted the tailerons on the servo horns....very clever! Will it even glide if hand tossed into a head wind? My guess it that is just needs more power. Like if you put an aftermarket EDF in with a nice strong brushless motor I bet it would fly. I do agree that if you could move some of the electronics out of the ducting it would help with the thrust. But I really like your design.

Can't fly? No problem! Patent it anyway and sell them at Hobby People for $80 each!

take all the electronics out of the wait of the back of the fan becasue that would cause a lot of drag with makes it not as fast

This plane was a while ago, i understand edf's alot more now.

UMMMMMM u should make a turust tube. it helps alot. and move the edf more back, and electronics to the front.

Put that fan at the end of the tail so the air flow will not be disturbed!
