  • If cement was waterproof, there'd be no need to put a damp course in a house.

    If you want a vapour permeable but waterproof layer from a building yard, look for SBR (sytrene butadiene resin). It comes in 2.5 and 5l plastic jerry cans like PVA, it's even the same colour. Paint it on, done.

    OK, he (Edarem) said waterproof, but maybe rustproof is more correct.

    I am not sure what you mean by "damp course in a house", but if its plastic foil inside the house, its to avoid damp from inside condensing in the wall when cold season (I live in Norway, you know polarbear, snow 6 months....).

    Rustproofing simple cheap iron/metal with a environmental friendly cementwash.

    The cement cost next to nothing, even on a tinroof like he talks abous, you need very little.
