  • Oh my god - chemtrails!!

  • RONPAUL RONPAUL, HE'S OUR MAN, FIGHTING FOR OUR NATION

  • I'm old. I used to watch this when I was too young to have rational brain functions.

  • and people wonder why our generation take pills all the time.. its like the only way roger ramjet ever beat anyone, proton pills down the hatch.

  • Does RR kick azz or wot?!

  • Rojer Ramjet is American Dad

  • its Rick Perry

  • I remember when they used to play this just before Rugrats!! Those were the days...

  • I loved this show. An extra reason fot it was that this show aired during the cold war (1945-1990) and reinforced that the USA were the good guys and the Russians were the bad guys. This show does have a pro-patriotic USA bent to it. This was actually complained about to the ABC in the 1980's by a "concerned" viewer.

  • Sounds like a porn star!

  • Stan from American Dad!!!

  • *umst, buzz, click*

    hehe :)

  • It is Jay Leno!!!!

  • why they lie to us? no wings :_(

  • The planes... THEY DON'T HAVE WINGS. Why, didn't I notices that when I was a kid!

  • @Davifflaelan2 RR only had enough money for one wing maybe ?

  • Roger Ramjet should be the mascot for Fox News LOL.

  • Wasn't Roger Ramjet the name of a Porno actor ?

  • @eddievenegas He stole the name,ha ha ha ha.

  • Number 73

  • Roger Ramjet and his Eagles

    Fighting for our freedom

  • memories

  • Yes...if Conan and Jay Leno mated, Roger would be their offspring.

  • Roger Ramjet was great as a kid. Pity the political correctness got him knocked off the air when the 90s rolled on because of the pills.

  • Aha. Poor kids nowadays have to watch things like "the waybuloos" or whatever it's called. I grew up with Roger Ramjet. SO much cooler.

  • CommunityChannel !!!

  • thumb if your here because of WongFu and CommunityChannel

  • So this is also what the American Dad creators plagiarised!

  • I named my Budgie After Roger Ramjet.

  • I like the 90's version that was more rock and rolly--then again it's the only one I knew anyway

  • Me and my girfriend have just been sat in bed and she was whinging that she has found the Remgel the indigestion sweet all over the house in random places....lol lol lol! So..... we invented a song to the tune of Roger Ramjet...Here goes..

" Random Remgel, he's our friend,

    Hero of our Nation,

    for his adventure's just begun

    to help with our digestion!"

MY god have not cackled like that in ages!

  • I watched this as a kid on the Wallace and Ladmo show in Arizona. :)

  • I used to watch this regularly for years, not because I was particularly fond of it, but because in Australia it was aired at 5:55 each night and it was between two shows I watched.

  • @MyMerryMelodies that's my childhood you're describing!

  • het maakt mij niks uit wat jullie ervan vinden,ik vindt het namelijk wel grappig.

  • The aeroplane flying across the sky resembles a hard penis entering a vagina.

  • Oh my god, I can't believe I still actually now the words to this LOL!

  • @Sugsy23 hahahaha yeah it amazing how much Saturday morning cartoon lyrics get embed in your brain

  • When I first saw this show, it was during its original run...and I was about two or three years old then.

  • I remember this show! I was only about three years old then. What memories! I don't remember too much about the content of the show, but I do remember the thunder sound effect in the title theme. BOOM! And vaguely the theme song. When I was that age, I couldn't say "Ramjet", so I called him "Roger Roojah".

  • so many cartoons have "fighting for freedom: as a phrase, but the only one I can remember as literally "fighting for freedom" was a fricken "sonic the hedgehog" cartoon against a doctor robotnic dictatorship. Not really a complaint, but I have just been a bit bothered how loosely the word "freedom" gets used

  • He actually looks like ex canadian primeminister Brian Mulroney with a hockey helmut on

  • fuckin yanks and there prescription pills

  • @Hellborndelux Jay Leno looks like Roger Ramjet.

  • I could have sworn I saw a new cartoon done in this style with the same voices on Noggin years ago. Did the same people who did this put out anything in the 90s?

  • @ORCZORR If you think this show is propaganda you clearly have no sense of irony. Roger Ramjet satirised the dumb All-American hero.

  • He looks more like Kenny Rogers (former Yankee/Ranger pitcher)

  • @ORCZORR That's what I thought immediately. I never detected it as a kid, but you can tell the motive was to inspire American patriotism and great respect for the military. The Eagle, the borders to an American dollar bill, the colours. Propaganda alright.

  • Am I the only one who as a kid was annoyed by the fact that those planes ONLY HAVE ONE WING?!

  • @ORCZORR you got that right.

  • Crap!!!!, i was just a little kid when this show first came out. ...and yea, i loved it too :)

  • This clip leaves out the second verse! (The controversial one...)

"When Ramjet takes his proton pill

    the crooks begin to worry

They can't escape their awful fate

    from proton's mighty fury!

    Chorus"

Roger's power, of course, came from his "proton energy pills" - "PEP Pills"; and someone decided that this show would make drug addicts of the children who watched it. PUH-LEEEZE!!!

  • @dxmediabb It would take more than a simple cartoon show to turn children into full-blown drug addicts. Dxmediabb, you are quite correct on that one.

  • @dxmediabb

That verse is in the song at the end of the show, not the intro.

  • I used to hate watching this show waiting for inspector gadget to come on. but now I have fond memories of watching it.

  • Early drug taking at its best!

  • A very funny cartoon series from my childhood.

  • It's a cartoon get over it

  • Roger Ramjet's chin reminds me of Stan's chin on "American Dad"

  • roger ramjet looks and sounds like someone who would drop a nuclear bomb on some poor country

  • kuzwa no jacek gmoch totalny ;D ale obejzalo by sie to po polsku znowu ;d

  • "Suddenly it's 5:55pm and my Mum has just come home and I'm nine years old." Freaky flashback! :)

  • @icekat83 And the house is a mess?!

  • Anybody notice the resemblence between RR's chin and Stan Smith's?

  • I didn't know who Dick Beals was until years later, but even when I was under 12 I noticed similar voices in Roger ramjet and the earlier Funny Company, both of which I now know were Ken Snyder productions.

  • When Noggin started they had a similar cartoon that either brought together the old cast or imitated them. Can't remember the name of the toon.

  • Never saw it on UK TV but remember it well on Portuguese TV around 1990-1991 (In English with Portuguese subtitles)

  • beautiful intro

  • Reminds me of American Dad LOL

  • This was shown on British TV a lot in the 1980s.

  • He looks a cross between Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien actually.

  • @heymisterderp Quiet. NBC will replace Leno with Ramjet.

  • @heymisterderp If they mated!

  • I grew up on this. FU! buut then I grew up on LSD and Skinny Puppy.

  • dee is such a love

  • Quality :-)

  • Roger Ramjet looks like Jay Leno

  • omg he does look like jay leno.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA

    LOL

  • @Hellborndelux

    LOL !

  • Ive been trying to look for this since I was in year 2... Im now 19... and my dreams have finally come true.

  • classic lol

  • rofl

  • Nothing like the 80s and 90s cartoons!

though I think this was originally from the 50s!

  • 1965 according to IMDB.. I watched this circa 1985-6 or so as a kid, along with Jabberjaw and The Monkees.. Reruns are a great thing. One of my daughter's toys plays a "Yankee Doodle" tune and all I can think of is Roger Ramjet lol

  • it came out in the sixties...Gary Owens was the voice of Roger

  • This is so good!! Brings back memories of being a kid... gotta love the 80's !!!

  • I can't beleive it

this song's tune sounds like Barney and friends theme

  • Yeah it is... which Both Song were ripped off from "Yankee Doodle.."

  • Wonder whose pill was more effective, Roger Ramjet's or Underdog's?

  • The effects of Roger Ramjet's only last for 20 seconds.

  • Jesus. I remember watching this on TV as a kid!...I can't believe I'm that old.

  • When it aired in the 90s, it wasn't it's original run.

The 90s played a lot of old cartoons because at the time, they were still seen as great...

Sadly, the little shits nowadays all prefer their computer-animated marketing-toons like Pokemon and all that garbage...

Sad world we live in now...

  • can some1 write the sing, i speak litle english thx

  • Roger Ramjet and his Eagles Fighting for our freedom Fly through in and outer space Not to join 'em, but to beat 'em Roger Ramjet, he's our man Hero of our nation For his adventures just be sure And stay tuned to this station So come and join us all you kids For lots of fun and laughter As Roger Ramjet and his men Get all the crooks they're after
  • nice this is so old :D I remember this growin up in the eighties tho! thanks!

  • No, it was Super Chicken that had Super sauce.

  • one long chin side facing 2d ship driving hero.and his proton energy pills, still gimmie nuff joke today belive..

  • I'm a Republican and I like Roger Ramjet.

  • Most hardcore repugs would not have grown up on this, or atleast weren't paying attention if they saw it. It's just A GOOD POLITICAL SATIRE specifically aimed at them. A high percentage of repugs don't realize the Colbert Report is a satire either. That just means the satire is all the more effective. Watch Dr. Strangelove, then try watching the Roger Ramjet episode "Dr. Ivan Evilkisser" without cracking up a little.

  • Donald Rumsfield's mentor.....

  • i think the fox news people grew up on this

  • Wow...just Wow.

I loved this show as a kid.

With all it's jingoism, I still grew up to be a normal person (as in, NOT Republican).

  • Considering how some Dmeocrats seem tom support MidEastern Terrorism, maybe being a Repbulican is not all that bad [I said MAYBE, I'm one myself but am reconisdering but NOT supporting pro-terroistsm!]

  • Wrong!!! It was Super Chicken that had the proton pill (I am embarassed I remember this).

  • Mmm, gotta love the pointless subliminal messaging at the end.

  • Please explain?

  • I can't remember... I think it's either the line "and stay tuned to this station" I was referring to, or the flashing of different images really quickly. lol

  • There was a kids' show in Phoenix called "Wallace & Ladmo" which ran a Roger Ramjet cartoon each morning. The joke was more grown-ups watched the cartoons than kids.

On one occasion, one of the hosts, Wallace, said they'd received a petition calling for two Roger Ramjet cartoons each day.

"What school are they from?" the other host, Ladmo, asked.

"The Fuel Pump Lounge," Wallace replied.

(Yes, that was a real bar in Glendale, a Phoenix suburb).

  • Anyone knows if the song is original or if it's a cover ?

If it is, who wrote the original, please ?

  • Well, it uses the same tune as "Yankee Doodle", if that's what you mean. As for who wrote it, I have no idea. It's a very old song.

  • I guess it's a traditionnal then...

    thanx mate !

  • The theme song's lyrics were sung to the tune of "Yankee Doodle" and it was written and composed by Paul Shively and Charles Koren, and performed at the organ by Ivan Ditmars (of Let's Make A Deal fame). The first and third verses were sung over the opening credits. The second and third verses were sung over the closing credits. The chorus was sung after each verse. Sung by Dick Beals, who did the voice in the "Speedy Alka-Seltzer" commercials.

  • whats the cartoon that got banned because he ate a pill and then got strong?

  • Underdog, the proton energy pill

  • Actually, Roger Ramjet had the Proton Pill, that verse wasn't included here:

When Ramjet takes a proton pill the crooks begin to worry

They can't escape the awful fate of proton's mighty fury

  • There was an anime called 8th man, made in the 60s. He got his power from cigarettes he kept in a compartment in his belt buckle!

  • WOOHOO!

  • Boy,how I remember Roger Ramjet:-)

I was young, but I did notice a few of the voices in Roger Ramjet were a lot like voices in The Funny Company.

I've since learned that Dick Beals did voices in both of those cartoons-which were both Ken Snyder productions.

  • Noggin put on something made by the same guys about 10 years ago. Same style, same voices.

  • Remember the bad guy in this? Noodles Romanoff and his Gang of No_Goods?

    Thanks for the memory!

  • OMG!!!!!

  • Gosh! It reminds me of my childhood!!

  • OH MY GOD! ROGER RAMJET!!!! lol how fucken oldschool!

  • fucken drug cheat LOL hahahaha

  • i heard the banned the show here in australia cuase of those proton pills he pops

  • huh, never knew that, i saw it couple years ago on abc.

  • im not sure if its 100% true. but that was the rumor going around at the time

  • i loved this show!!

  • Damn!

    That's american...

  • it's funny you should post this statement...seeing as Roger Ramjet is the spitting animation image of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney!! lol

  • sweet

  • Al ver esta increible fabula, recuerdocuando era joven

  • Amazing

  • Im pretty sure Roger Ramjet was a Republican

  • proton energy pill

  • i loved this and danger mouse

  • I enjoyed this cartoon as a kid, brought back a few memories.

  • pill popper but only when directed

  • I used to watch this as a 3 year old and even though I probably had no idea what the cartoon was actually I've always remembered this song.

  • I used to love watching this on No. 73 when they used to play cartoons in the kitchen supposedly through a projector.

  • i loved this show!

  • I wished you would die......

  • i freakin' hated this cartoon

  • you suck dude!!! nothing cooler then Ramjet.

  • In Poland he wasn't popular but I love him!

  • I never forgot this, and I was so young.

  • The biggest mystery is the theme song of Roger Ramjet, why did they use such a corny or siily line where they say " Fly thru in and outer space not to gone him but to beat him" it does not make sense. Does anyone know? I wrote to Harvey Mitten in 1979 the creator did not get a reply, have searched the internet for many hours but NO LUCK, would anyone know or have a clue

  • That's because the lyrics are "fly through earth and outer space, not to join 'em but to beat 'em!"

  • that was embarassing

  • I think the energy proton pill part was before the 0:24 'so come and join us all you kids for lots of fun and laughter'.......but it was there for sure. Great tune!

  • i love this

  • COOL!!!

I saw this when I was a kid!!

    :)

  • wasn't there something like "when ramjet takes the proton pill the crooks begin to worry..."? maybe that was the end credits

  • Dick Beals, multitracked, the voice of many a boy (Gumby for a while, Davey of "Davey & Goliath", Speedy Alka-Seltzer, WB "Ralph Phillips",etc.), performed the theme and some of the voices. (His rival at sujch a natural voice was "Sherman" (of "Peabody & Sherman") & mid to late 40s "Andy Panda" voice (and in WB "Haunted Mouse", 1941), & "Reddy Kilowatt", Walter Tetley, both on priminated radio shows..

  • yes one of the catchiest intros

they should remake this too a movie

  • how could i forget.loved it.

  • i love this programme

  • haha i still have a vhs of this when someone eats peanut butter and roger ramjet thinks the guy is a werewolf

  • haha, loved this cartoon. Pure unbridled patriot propaganda and allusions to performance enhancing drug addictions, but still, love it!

  • I was a little girl durring the vietnam war, My dad was a fighter pilot for the US Air Force. Not a popular position to be in during that war. This was a favorite cartoon for me. I missed my dad when he was at War, Kids today who's families are in the military are going thru a tough time. No one (in their right mind) is happy about the war. I hate the war...but support the troops. God Bless All those who fight for what is right.

  • jesus christ i cant believe you used a youtube cartoon of the Roger Ramjet intro to make a point about war!! Fuckin hilarious. On a completely unrelated point I'm going to use Roger Ramjet as a euphemism for my genetelia from now on

  • Roger Ramjet uber alles!

  • Roger Ramjet he's our man, hero of our nation! I still remember this and I am nearly 28 lol...

  • i know i used to watch this show aswell when i was growing up

  • hahaha brings back memories

  • Yvan eht nioj

  • this is a ad for little kids to join the army. hidden meaning and propaganda anyone?anyone at all???..........

  • Man, I even remebered some of the lyrics to the theme song! Thanks for a great post.

If you get a chance, check out our retro sci-fi serial, "Thirty Second Doom". Thanks!

  • I haven't seen this in YEARS! Tanks for posting this.

  • How old do i feel.....

  • Roger Ramjet was way ahead of its time in the way it played to audiences of all age groups...proton energy pills, noodles romanoff, general brassbottom...damn man this cartoon was a classic!

  • damn i had this on video when was little and it broke. I could remember the theme tune but not the lyrics so no one knew what i was on about but iv finally found it wheyyy

  • ditto lol

dont you just love YouTube for reliving those brief memories

  • Have you actually watched the show?

  • Have you actually watched the show?
