  • ROTFLMFAO!!! once again, I am crying from laughing so hard, ha ha ha

    (((codahugs)))

  • Haha. I have a deaf best friend and I wanna be an interpreter when I'm older, and I absolutely loved this video! haha. Thanks for the lesson!

  • This is funny! I grew up with interpreters, you guys seem to have it all figured out. What NOT to do as an interpreter! It is interesting to watch interpreters and how they don't take into consideration some of these simple things. There is no reason deaf people should be treated different than hearing individuals; bringing up the point of interpreters taking control of a conversation or situation. Would you say most people communicate these issues or is it just to be known by interpreters?

  • Love this! I'm 16 and hard of hearing. You know what I LOVE! When they start laughing about a joke that you didn't hear. Best thing ever.

  • BAHAHAHAHAH! LOVE!

  • lol ahhh... nothing like codas being pretentious.

  • @jamman55 LOVE YOUR COMMENT (((codahug)))

  • I LOVE U GUYS! u are so passionate and u just inspire me to no end!

  • I love ur videos!!!! I LOVE ASL , I LOVE SIGN LANGUAGE FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • Love u guys!

  • We live in the same world, there is not one for only deaf people so that's why I think sign language should be taught to everybody so we wouldn't have those walls that sometimes put us apart and also I've read many deaf ppl saying they hate interpreters well whether some people like it or not we live in a world where most of us are hearing and although deaf ppl are very smart, they need interpreters to communicate with this society so stop this fight is pointless

  • Cut the crap everybody damnn!! hearing and not hearing people are the same the only difference is that deaf ppl can't hear but still they have their own culture and language, I love asl I wanna learn it, I strongly believe that hearing and no hearing ppl should be able to communicate easily so that's why I think asl should be mandatory in every normal school like part of our own language

  • People relax they're just joking damn!! U know sarcasm is good sometimes :P

  • Hahahhaha u guys are so funny! xD

  • that was amazing!!! appreciate the voiceover. i feel like i learned a couple more signs :)

  • ok, I LOVE this video. I am a hearing person who is in school to be an Interpreter and if anybody took this seriously, you have no clue. This was humor!

Thank you both and keep up the videos! You got me in trouble in the library at school today cause I was laughing out loud!

  • Imma starter out of like 3000 or more words I have...150 down so far n I need help..any1 willing 2 help me?

  • I'm a CODA and an interpreter... But I actually went and got my DEGREE in Sign Language Studies and interpreting and we had these little classes called 'Ethics' classes, and most of what you're talking about would be covered under ethics. You could most likely complain to the agency about any interpreter making things up or jumping in a convo or showing up dressed inappropriately, and possibly get them fired. I would. My parents would fire any interpreter that acted like that and complain.

  • LMAO! you guys are funny. :)

  • excuse me, u make this video to make deaf to be suffer through interpreter learn horrible from u!? i hope you better be kidding!

INTERPRETER MEMO: LOOK PEOPLES OF INTERPRETER! PLEASE DONT LISTEN WHAT EVER CRAZY GUYS SAID AND NOT EVEN COPY THIS BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT BE POPULAR ANYMORE IF U ACT THIS..YOU BETTER HOPE HE IS KIDDING(:

ok thanks both guy but it really funny video but i hope it not mean for real , and keep up with crazy video!

  • @hasmileyha The hearing world is very aware of what sarcasm is. The deaf-not so much...but don't worry...the interpreters KNOW they are kidding.

  • '

i heard that TV with sound leave on while 2 men on this video show

  • I know this sounds stupid but for 2 days i couldnt hear out of my left ear it was horrible! i cant imagine living like that :P props to all deaf peopel :)

  • O.o

  • Lmao...This was too funny!!! I'm not deaf/coda/hearing impaired but I fully appreciate the humor in this. The sarcasm is hystarical not only in your signs but also in the verbal banter. After seeing this, I HAVE to subscribe!!

  • interpreters wield immense power and some definitely abuse that power. They need to be poked as much as possible which takes a lot of courage! (Cheers!) Any criticism directly from Deaf clients is risky as Deaf clients rely on interpreters for their services and if they become client non grata they might be refused by interpreters who have had their feathers ruffled. Thanks CODA BROTHERS! You make the world a much better (and happier!) place for all of us!

  • !YOU AT A SCHOOL TALKING TO A CROWD OF PEOPLE. YOU: ARE YOU HEARING IMPAIRED? CROWD: NO! YOU: I CAN'T HEAR YOU! CROWD: NO! YOU: I CAN'T HEAR YOU! CROWD: NO! YOU: I CAN'T HEAR YOU! CROWD: NO! YOU: I CAN'T HEAR YOU! CROWD: NO! YOU: I CAN'T HEAR YOU! CROWD: NO! YOU: I CAN'T HEAR YOU! CROWD: NO! YOU: I CAN'T HEAR YOU! CROWD: NO! YOU: I CAN'T HEAR YOU! CROWD: NO! YOU: I CAN'T HEAR YOU! CROWD: NO! YOU: I CAN'T HEAR YOU! CROWD: NO!

  • @MegaHayhayhayhay family guy js..

  • Lol gotta love sarcasm. Im a sacrastic person sometimes and this is hilarious.

  • I am a coda and i love this! and love the kiss hand sign TOO! :)

  • LOL! I love this VLOG - it spelled out almost everything I experienced in College. I had a NEWBIE interpreter in a Spanish Culture class where every other word was spanish and also in medical anthropology - so she not only had to learn how to "sign" , she had to learn how to create sign language to fit the scenario so I was there teaching her to sign - being very polite and praying really hard she "gets it" . She did get it after a month and was a pro but it was a struggle for both of us.

  • Dripping in sarcasm... love it!

  • WOW, I am studing ALS to become and interpretor. I work at a theme park and love what I do and want to share it. Are all deaf people as sarcastic as you are? I was raised to be respectfull of all people.

  • @djorlando64 That's kind of a rude comment. Each Deaf person is different just like hearing people. Some may be sarcastic while others aren't. They aren't making fun of anyone so I don't how they are being disrespectful and to top it off the AREN'T even Deaf!

  • @abbymswf I guess if you choose to surround your self with negitive people your reep what you sow. I choose to surround mysef with postive people. It seems that in this video they are lumping all ASL translators into what you see on this clip. The one I know are positive and friendly, I guess I view the glass as full full.

  • I am studying ASL and hope to get in to the interpreter program.

    .

I have been floored this year at some of the jaw dropping and horrifying behaviors from speaking people who do not take the time to understand and RESPECT deaf culture. I have also met some amazing and wonderful deaf people who have the patience and self restraint of a saint.

    .

Since common sense seems to be an oxymoron to most.. thank you for this. I laughed til tears came pouring

    .

Be the change you wish to see in the world.

  • im really confused..are you trying to be sarcastic to be funny. because youre not.

  • @rachhmariee11 OMGosh...im a deaf person and i took NO offense at all, i have the common sense to know they were joking....quit being such a stick in the mud ;-)

  • @rachhmariee11 OMGosh...im adeaf person who uses interpeters rvery rarely...(i lip read mostly and learned sign language later in life but i took NO offense at all, i have the common sense to know they were joking....quit being such a stick in the mud ;-)

  • Hey, not forget about Deafblind people prefer most dark color like bold, black or background. Deaf and deafblind are different depend on situation to match for interpeters. I have two interpeters at the college in deaf program for closer. That is why I prefer dark or bold color but no bright or neon or print clothes, sorry.. Hope you know what deafblind need to use interpeters. Also Interpeter should know about deafblind people too....:)

  • lmao! I so agree with this! I'm hard of hearing I can sign and talk I wear hearing aids and when I sign a interpreter would voice someone else to fit what I'm saying. If I done signing I notice the interpreter is still voicing while I'm done. Some interpreter are so slow at voicing

  • @deafculture17 That's because a good interpreter waits for an entire concept to be conveyed before changing it into another language.

  • Hey, i think you guys are amazing, i just got into a realtionship with a Deaf boy, he has an cochlear implant. . . and he can hear if its on, i wanna talk to him and i wanna learn sign, but i dont wanna learn from him, do you have any websites?? Please and Thanks :)

  • v.gd, love this & how true..from english coda

  • LOL.. I CAN SEE YOU BUT YOUR SIGN LANGUAGE ARE DIFFERENT TO ME, I M AUSTRALIA. SOMETIME I CAN USE MY HAND FOR SPELLING ONLY, NOT MUCH. I ALWAYS USED THE HANDS TO SPELLING, HA. I DON'T USED IT. HA LOL..

IS YOUR TWIN BROTHERS,?? NO? I AM WRONG LOL

    CHEERS

    AMANDA (73BUSYMUM)

  • @TheOobster I completely agree, and I realize that this bias, like every bias, does not include every member of the Deaf community. Which is why I'm currently studying to become a legal interpreter :P

  • @BrittaniCrawford I plan on getting my bach. degree in nursing in the next two years, was thinking about interpreting myself from a medical standpoint...ASL classes are accepted with continuing education credits for nurses. Good luck to you!!

  • I know asl from immersion, not proper asl and can spell rapidly if I don't know the signs because my dad's ex wife was deaf and her kids made up lies a lot to get my brother and I in trouble and I was raised speaking German and English from birth so it wasn't hard to pick up asl but I notice that asl interpreters don't make the faces and noises that deaf people make and that seems strange to me because of how I learned it, German classes sound weird too because of no rolling r's and accents too

  • @HerrSpieldose asl interpreters do asl much better than American German teachers do in classes because they have a hard time understanding my German speaking because it is native and has a heavy accent and they correct me often but I can sign like a deaf person with noises and faces with asl interpreters and while they act condescending toward me, they sign without correcting me like German classes do because of native speaking immersion when signing and asl interpreters are better that way...

  • The Hippos entrence music?!?! sick rad

  • Ha ha. "Just go ahead and make it up. Make up your own words. Insert them wherever you want."

  • The counselor on a deaf community Deafornot dot c om said that "People who may be defined as clinically deaf (unable to hear spoken language) may or may not be members of the Deaf community."

  • You guys are amazing. I'm hearing and know a bit of ASL, but I've totally noticed all the mistakes that interpreters do. Kinda ridiculous. :P

  • kiss fisttt

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha! I love this! :) LOVE IT! :) you guys are great :)

  • Ha .. ok I'm an interpreter...that felt like being ROASTED! lol....thank goodness for ITP programs that help educate terps before they make those mistakes...I'm mostly innocent of your accusations except I do walk out into the parking lot with people...you know, the long goodbye..ah well no one is perfect!

  • @BrittaniCrawford: There's an entire world of horrible hearing people out there who don't even try to communicate with the Deaf and yet the hearing people who make the effort are always the target. Why? I whole-heartedly support taking the piss out of the arseholes who won't even try or who patronise deaf people, but it seems only those hearing people actively involved in the deaf community get abused. it's REALLY unpleasant to be around. I wish the deaf community as a whole would realise this.

  • Why do deaf people insist on humiliating the hearing people who are there to help them? It's such a nasty little prejudice.

  • @rollocla Because so many hearing people view being deaf as a handicap and think they need to help the 'poor, underprivileged deaf people', when Deaf people are, of course, very proud of having their own culture. Deaf people don't NEED hearing people to get by, so of course it's annoying when hearing people assume that Deaf people need their hands held in everything they do.

  • @BrittaniCrawford yes, but some Deaf DO need interpreters, no? Otherwise, it would not be such a lucrative job, or a demand for it at all. I agree some ppl have a patronizing attitude, but not all do, most realize that the only issue is communication between deaf and hearing people.

  • @@3:46 cracks me up hahaha

  • LOL You both are the best!!!! Thank you for making my day! ;)

  • Damn! Whats with all this shit between Deaf people and Hearing people, Fuck. U all are acting like asshole, Hearing and Deaf people alike, We are all no better or worse than one another. Calm the fuck down u fuckin dicks. I found this video funny, but these fucked up comments are Fucking pointless.

  • @JVcrow44

With the language you choose to use, it seems you need to calm down. someone hit a nerve, and you couldnt take it???

  • yeah i agree very TRUE!!! LOL

  • hilarious! good one, guys :)

  • The problem is that the sarcasm is mean and cruel. if these problems actually existed, then why not talk about them and try to resolve them instead of this way? I always believe that if one must make fun of anyone, let it be themselves. Talking about others is cruel, and of course when you point the finger at someone there are 3 more fingers pointing back at you.

Believe me as an interp I have stories to tell about deaf folks that would curl your hair. But i wont stoop to that level........

  • ok so first let me say that i was am studying to become an interpreter and when you guys said wear crazy loud colors with prints, i was like AWESOME so i dont really have to wear black all the time(not that i mind black its one of my fav colors anyway) it wasnt until you got to the part about making up the deaf persons convo that i realized you were being sarcastic:) anyway the video was very funny and i would not do any of that as an interpreter or just as a respectful human! love it!

  • y do people have to make fun about the deaf i really thought from the title that you were actually being serious GET A LIFE

  • interpreters love it when:

deaf person refuses to look at interpreter, (either asleep, talking in class, etc) misses something and then says: the interpreter didnt sign that..

you come in with long nails, eat, drink, and god knows what else, and expect us to understand you...

you ask us to cheat on a test you didnt study for

you ask us to interpret for you at church, and after taking 6 buses to arrive on time, you decide not to attend...

you can dish it out but cant take it.......

  • Interpreters also love it when: you are 2 hours late for an assignment, expect us to "stay" (overtime, with no pay) because it is "our job" deaf people want to become lawyers or doctors, but refuse to attend classes, DO THE WORK, and still expect a degree. Of course you "sue" when you fail and blame everyone but GOD

when you refuse to attend classes because it is "raining". Did you expect it to be sunshine 24/7?

you expect us to do your homework and complain if we say no

  • Wow! you got me! I actually thought from the title we interpreters would not be made fun of; but since we are on that level, let me add some sarcasm of my own: of course this is for the deaf community on what we love about YOU: when you sign up for a PHD class but you dont have a high school diploma and still cant pass English 101.

when you dont study for a test, fail, and then blame the interpreter.

When you drop out of a class because you cant write a simple 20 page term paper

  • @metal4ever1965 HA! Well i wonder why the kept you at birth. You should think about that. And deaf people DO use their ears. Thats why there's hearing aids PENDEJO!

  • my mom and dad are deaf(: i hate interpraters they annoy me sum times

  • @zarahxlove96 You better be glad interpreters are around; if you had to depend on writing back and forth you'ld be in serious trouble since you can't even write in English.

  • @dseindc they were just kidding around! No reason to be mean!

  • @girloffaith16 I was referring to zarahlove96's comment about "I hate interpraters [sic]".

  • LOL! you forgot when interpeters throw in their little jokes while interpeting or trying to tell their life story while interpeting (when the interview or whatever gets slow and nobody's talking). Oh yea, I really love that. I'm absolutely interested in how you learned how to talk just like me! Yes, I do think you are funny! jeez, interpeters...

  • @metal4ever1965 Just for your information , deaf people are NOT retards , they have EARS , EYES , MOUTH , LEGS , ARMS, FEET , TEETH, EVERYTHING . The only thing is that they cannot hear. They're the same person as you but much much much , nicer. (; I am a CODA myself so I should know that this is a FACT. If you cant handle that deaf people are just as much as the SAME as hearing people , then you would have to go to a planet where there ISNT deaf people , like the planet of NOWHERE. FYI.

  • LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • I love this video :-) thanks for being honest!!

  • lmfao!

  • One at a time, please. I enjoy your funny stories. \lml

  • Comment removed

  • @metal4ever1965 NO! Deaf people aren't retarded. The only thing they can't do is hear. That's it. And you know what, Deaf people are amazing. I hear, but I studied ASL for 3 years and I know a lot about their culture. Don't go saying that.

  • Comment removed

  • @metal4ever1965 Are hearing ppl retarded? Yup! They are!

  • Comment removed

  • @metal4ever1965 Well, Sorry, retards ppl are hearing bec they talking without sign language that what you notcing so far. Rofl. I guess, you are dumb enough. And why you ask a big stupid question. lol

  • @metal4ever1965 r u retarded?

  • You guys are my favorite people in the world! Love your sarcasm! :o)

  • That is the hilarious!!!

  • GEAT!!!

  • GAY

  • this one confused me a lot ? lol im not good with sarcasm i dont pick up on it all the time this is sarcasm right ? aww I feel so dumb asking ? lol poor me.

  • @PurpleMochiPants89 aw poor thing lololoool!

  • @PurpleMochiPants89

God no, this has made me one of the best interpreters in my area....

  • You guys are really awesome! It's so cool to see how much you love what you're doing. You're wicked funny too! I hope you'll continue to post your VLOGS. There's a lot of us out there who want so badly to learn this language and I can't tell you how much these videos have helped me. I just want to thank you and encourage you to continue this work! Thank you so much!

  • FUNNY!!! I am a year away from graduating from an interpreter program and boy does this send the message home! Loved it!

  • LOL thanks for the info..I took really detailed notes and am keeping them forever and ever....jk :P Great vid! Sarcasm at its best!

  • Wow, I didn't know so many people were so insensitive and ignorant.

  • @jaylarhonda Hearing people can do everything that Deaf can do except sign.

  • @dseindc LOL good one ;-)

  • @dseindc C.O.D.A means Child of deaf adult...that means they are hearing and grow up with Deaf culture and ASL as there first language. Hearng people can sign also

  • @dseindc C.O.D.A means Child of deaf adult...that means they are hearing and grow up with Deaf culture and ASL as there first language. Hearing people can sign also

  • @Lovleylorretta My comment was a play on the expression "Deaf people can do everything but hear". Uhm, I am a Sign Language Interpreter so I am familiar with the meaning of CODA, but thanks for your feedback.

  • @dseindc but at least we can hear! na na na na na ha ha ha ha ha ha

  • @MegaHayhayhayhay yes, too bad you can't think.

  • @dseindc ..I know some people who can hear, and can sign...

  • @shantell2345 Wow! Really, you know some people who can hear, and can sign? Wonders never stop. Oh yeah, did you read where I said I am a Sign Language Interpreter? That would make me hearing too. The genius of your comment has left me reeling in amazement.

  • @dseindc They can't hear.

    lol

  • @diceof7 Your comment almost leaves me speechless, however, I have one suggestion for you: Stay in school.

  • @dseindc Really? If I stomped on a wooded floor in YOUR house, would you automatically turn around and ask what I wanted, or would you miss it completely? I obviously know my parents (who are Deaf) aren't superheros with 'special' anything, but they do pay more attention to their surroundings than most hearing people. XD;

  • @dseindc Or do anything that requires hearing...

  • @kevmimcc At least they have the ability to think which I'm afraid that you don't have.

  • @dseindc Doesn't understand humor.....oh well.....I guess not everyone can be smart.

  • @kevmimcc are you simple or what? Don't understand humour? Oh ye of such little intellect.

  • @dseindc Haha, you can't stand it that so many people in here hate you.

  • @dseindc and have 5 sences.

  • @13SuperKings And you have no sense at all. Stay inschool and learn to spell correctly.

  • @dseindc I was just saying that a Hearing person has 5 senses. But also I know sign language and use it when I am with Deaf people. Sorry if it came of rude. But I also know that most Deaf people are not completely Deaf. I think the best book on this issue is called Deaf Like Me by Tom Spradley. I also understand that Manuel Communication is a language and works. Oralism on the other hand is not good at all from my understanding.

  • @13SuperKings just my opinion on this, because of my personal experience with my parents...With my dad oralism just didn't work, I'm talking about they even lit a candle to have him practice the letter P, it should effect the flame on the candle. On the other hand, it worked wonders for my mom (I thought she could speak very well, but of course I was used to her voice) Luckily, they both learned ASL and it was passed down to me. So I can see both sides of this, but love your comment....

  • @dseindc

now thats just make me a lil sad here

  • Hey guys as a CODA myself and interpreter< no I am not the CODA that thinks Im the best like some others lol ;) I was wondering if you guys thought after watching your video that it's hard to watch one brother sign as the other signs while the other one is still signing? As a deaf person that is?

  • @SparkleCODA ... When I first saw them talking at the same time, it was a little difficult, but after a few seconds, I find it not too hard. It's similar to regular deaf conversations; I'm sure you may have witnessed deaf people talking over each other, just like hearing people do lol . What I find the most distracting between the two though is their over-emphasis on mouthing. I guess it's part of their act though? Gosh I hope so... if they interpreted for me like that, I'd nip it! haha

  • Hahahahah I love being a "PROUD A-S-S CODA!"

  • LOL. This is great! "go ahead, make up your own words" You guys are great.

  • This is sarcasm! Lol

  • great now I feel bad about my fingerspelling.

  • LMAO nice!

  • Hahaha you guys are hilarious!

  • Kiss Fist Kiss Fist!!!!!!!

  • haha very funny

  • That is funny!! Wonder if any new interpreter fell for it...

  • i know its not good to use plad or anything loud, but do they mind other dark colors? (dark blue, brown, ect.)

  • @MrBoffom Reverse the thinking. If a Hearing person is in a LOUD bar/restaurant, etc., it's difficult to understand what someone is saying, yes? Much easier if there isn't "background noise' to 'hear' clearly. As a paid interpreter, if you are light-skinned, best to wear darker colors as it's not "loud and noisy." If dark-skinned, wear light-colored clothing - it's easier to "hear" when there is a contrasting color between hands and clothing. You will learn this in our studies and associations.

  • @connierc1 thanks for the reply :)

  • awesome guys - hilarious!

  • Oh, and I love the bit about the shirt with hands all over it. I want one!!

  • You know ... I'm sensing sarcasm ...

    Brilliant, guys!!

  • Hahaha, omg! I LOVE THIS. I GOTTA SHOW EVERYONE WHO I KNOW :D

    YOUR AWESOMEEE

  • lol luv u 2!

  • Haha, Some Of The Things You Mentioned, My Asl Teacher Has Mentioned As "Ok" She Said Its Ok To Get Personal Because It Shows You "CARE" Like That They Would Get Offended If You Didnt Notice Or Mention It.

  • HAHAHAHA! now scared how many people really believe this, not realize sarcasm. hahahaha!

  • Oh man. Laughing so hard. LOL. Though I must admit with my piercing and crazy hair and tattoos the first rule would get broken alot. LOL.

  • LOL!!! lol.. okay that is very true!!!! I love my INTERPRETER in my high,, she really AWESOME interpreter in world.... she help us all time, she treat us like we are family.... sometime my classmate deaf call her mom or aunt .. cuz she is our family.. so she is everyone fav interpreters...

  • Lol

  • lol, love this.!!!

  • i am about 2 go 2 school 4 interpreting i cant wait ive been signing for my family all my life but you guys are SOOOO funny thnx for the vids :)

  • God...I hope people realize this is full of sarcasm....I worry.....

  • Love it, love it.

  • What's really sad is that someone will not get the sarcasm... Knowing the internet, multiple someones will take this at face value and try to be interpreters. I'm kinda scared now...

  • Don't worry they won't last long. If they do last long it is because they finally realized that the video was sarcastic and started learning the right way from deaf.

  • @evolvedcucumber LMAO. If they're that thick headed, let's hope they choose a less intellectually tasking job to suck at.

  • man, I wish my ASL instructor was this funny...

  • So fuckin' funny !!!!!!! CHAMP !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOL i always wondered why my deaf mother loves to watch these vlogs and now i know.... u guys are hilarious! i love how true u guys are! HA!

  • best thing ever haha
