does it work if i use cinema 4d instead of 3ds max . i have cinema 4d

All 3d softwares you can pretty much achieve the same thing. I dont know much about cinema 4d though so sorry cant help much.

Google "Video Co Pilot set extension" for compositing in after effects

In you tube check out "wadehjb " channel to me this helped me a lot in matte painting the most.

i downloaded that dragon a while back aswell, it had the massive colourful sphere on it aswell didnt it? anyway pretty nice :)

Nope it did not came with any texture actually. It was animated and the dragon was in a cave. Ill try to put a link back for the model.
