Chariots are core if you have a beast general. It might be different in the Beastmen army book that cames out in February 2010, but when we played this game in January of 2009, the list was legal

The VC player made the mistake of taking one in a 2000 point battle, and throwing his general to his death ;)

Take one in a 3000 point batte, give him a Frostblade, Infinite Hatred, Beguile and Red Fury, and you've alreay won a battle against Ogre Kingdoms ;)

Right now, Beasts of Chaos are an "interesting" army. They used to be united with the daemons and warriors of chaos, and when you built your army, you could use units/items from all of them. But the Chaos army has been officially split into three different armies. Daemons and warriors got new books, so they are okay being alone, however, the Beasts still use the book that was written with the other parts in mind. COnsequently, they have terrible Ld, and lackluster magic items. Fun though!

For the Forest Goblin Spider Riders; can you not put the riders on the spiders, and use the spiders move on 7"? Or do you have to use the goblins movement of 4"? I'm just wondering.

Those are from Mordheim, 4th edition WHFB box set, Chronicles of War (a 4th edition supplement), 5th edition WHFB box set, and a Dungeongs & Dragons supplement.

I'e heard that the Beasts of Chaos army is underpowered. Have you heard anything like that?

Yes I have, and I believe that it currently is one of the least powerful armies, right down there with Ogre Kingdoms and Orcs and Goblins.

THe reason, I think, is that the BoC book was designed to be used in conjunction with the Hordes of Chaos book. Ever since the Daemon book came out last year, Beast players can no longer use anything from the HoC book. This really cut back their magic item selection, as well as many unit choices.

I was told that Games Workshop has admitted that the Skaven are overpowered. I don't know if they have admitted that or not, but do you think the Skaven are overpowered? (i.e. cheap)

I think that a Skaven build that relies on lots of Jezzails can be overpowered, but that Skaven are not overpowered for the most part.

Generally the Daemons and Vampire Counts are considered the most ovepowered, followed by Dark Elves.

Dark Elves were underpowered unitl they got their new book last year. Their Hydras are probably one of the best units in the game as far as points/abilities ratio goes.

I haven't had much personal experience with Tomb Kings, but from what I've read, I'd say they are in the middle, but closer to underpowered than overpowered.

The strength of Orcs and Goblins is their numbers. They don't add up in points easily. There are a few good units in the O&G army though.

This is my 20th year of being involved in the hobby. THe battle was 2000 points per side.

Even though Vampire Counts are more powerful with the new book, I think they still do best by exploiting psychology, using magic as support, and taking advantage of static CR whenever possible - It's hard to win just by putting all of the tough stuff together and trying to over-power the enemy.

That's "Song of Joy" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. I wanted to go with something genuinely eerie, to reflect the mood of the Vampires fighitng Beastmen.

I cincur with your assesment of the new VC book. Joe's been learning this I think, as his list builds have been evolving.

I use a Sony DCR-SR80. I'm not sure of the cost, as it was a gift from my parents when my son was born, the idea being that I would film him and send them the videos (which I frequently do). It has a built in hard drive and a docking station to connect with the computer.

You sure can. They are characters, so as long as they are not on a flying mount, they can join units. The units of trolls get slowed down slightly by doing this, since you have to use the slowest movement value in the unit.

what paint do i use to paint the skin on Beasts of chaos

Which ones? For my Ogres, Dragon Ogres, and Shoggoth, I used dwarf flesh, with a badab black wash, then highlighted with dwarf flesh. For my GOrs/Ungors, I use bubonic brown with a devlan mud wash, followed by bubonic brown highlights. For the trolls, I use chardon granite as a base, with a badab black wash, followed by adeptus battlegrey highlights.

I made the trees and assembled all of the buildings. The buildings are from Mordheim and earlier versions of the warhammer fantasy boxed sets. My friend Lexicon made the road. The hills were pre-made by GW. I have a terrain video that explains more.

Nice report. Played a game yesterday with my vampire counts against chaos. My blood knights got cleaned up in a charge by some chaos knights ... couldnt roll 1 save from 7 dice! Question. The mounts for the blood knights have 1 wound, does this mean to take our a blood knight, you need to deal 2 wounds per model?

No, you only need to do one wound to a blood knight to kill it. If a mount only has one wound on its profile, it means that it counts as cavalry (unit strength 2, adds 1 to the armour save, stc...).
