  • I have Verizon Broadband and all you need to do is to unplug the modem for 5 minutes and wait for the modem to re boot itself. No big deal!!

  • Well, I haven't had one single problem with Optimum so far and I'm getting their phone service this week also.

  • i had this same problem with cablevision. They were complete idiots and assholes and told me that my modem and line were fine and nothing was wrong. i even unplugged my modem and gave it a cold start. when they checked to see they said its been on for 8 days when really the modem was reset and was on for only 15 mins. i ended up switching over to verizon fios and i am lot happier. i guess it can happen to anyone...

  • Verizon DSL suks !! cable > dsl almost the same price and u get 3x-4x the speed

  • with a blinking DSL light, you can only see a red light on the internet..

    this means there is no DSL signal

    going to your modem

    you should focus and THAT first, then just

    configure your connection in your modem, simple as that, and if you have conection

    problems constatly, its not that your to far from the central office, if your to far from the CO then Verizon wouldnt have even installed the service to beggin with.

  • Well, they did installed it, they did admitted that the problem was with them but couldn't figure out what was the problem. So I had no choice but to go.

    you should focus more on your DSL LIGHT if it is blinking even your internet light is on. you won't be getting any internet.

    if DSL LIGHT solid it means you can now sufr the net.. hehehe

  • Well, the repair guy came from Verizon and check the system. He did found the problem, it was outside, they just couldn't fix it. The guy work on it until 8:PM that night and couldn't fix it.

    Plus other people in the same area, including my sister, are having the same problem. She's now going to also use Optimum.

  • i hate verizon it sucks now i got timewarner cable its 100% better i also canceled my phone with them to and got vonage its great

  • well, you know what? if you're having connection problems, not all the time the blames on Verizon or even on your Westell modem..

  • Dude this is great.. i'm glad you posted this. I have the same exact problem at the moment with Verizon and man is it frustrating with this crap. I read a lot of complaints about the westell 327W modem that you showed in this video( i hope that's right). i have it too and i read that once you change it to the actiontec modem, that verizon can provide, things get way better. i see you changed service, but what modem do you use now?

  • I wish I knew about that before, but I'm still happy I change providers and I can't wait to dump the phone service also. With Verizon DSL it use to take me about an hour or more to download a movie, with Optimum is less than 10 minutes!

  • Also, when I call Optimum I'm talking to a LIVE operator in less than 2 minutes, try that with Verizon.

  • Yes, this is the way it is with me! I cannot even stay on XBOX live for more than 10 minutes without vERIZON shutting my internet off! I called technical support, and had to go through hell just to talk to them to tell them my internet kept shutting off, then they said my internet was fine.   • I feel your pain! I email them with a link to this video and I hope they now understand what I'm going through. Email them with a link to this video, maybe if they get enough emails with this link they might finally do something about it, but I think the solution is just to change providers and hurt them were it REALLY hurts, their profits.
