  • very nice!!! my mum used to sing this to me..

  • I came here to listen to a good song and ended up being tricked into watching a commercial featuring that faggot Justin Bieber. So lame.

  • Donnabellez.

  • Some songs just never get old.

  • I logged over 100 hours on Banjo-Kazooie and still couldn't find 4 musical notes in the 4 seasons stage... ugh! Still, this song is excellent and holds up after all these years

  • Banjo Kazooie

  • I like the bass saxophone...

  • If it isn't Henry Hall singing, the same person sings the rest of his songs too.

    I'm pretty sure it's him.

    Love this song.

  • Daved Kay

this is ACTUALLY pretty FRIGHTENING ...... but ********ing GREAT ..... 1932 with my Uncle Henry Hall

  • Roamin and Rob hide and seek SONS OF THOR YEAH!

  • I know this music is lovely but since my childhood scares the wits out of me!

  • I use to sing this to my4 children when they were little and going to bed. That was 45 years ago. And they still love it..

  • @showyface now that they are 45 years old i think it might be time to stop lol

  • A Zed and Two Noughts brought me here.

  • @GraditudevsRevenge I'm so sorry lol. It brought me here as well... Final analysis for my film class...

  • ha ha, where did the "teddy" bear name orginate? sounds like a song about Bohemian Grove.

  • @bethmariew It came from Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt

  • To be quite honest I am saddened by some of the comments about this song, it reflects what is in the minds of the writers rather then the content of this recording, I have sung this to my kids many times over the years much to their entertainment!

  • @maxi1crawf Aww, that's adorable ( the singing part ). If I ever had kids ( which I hope to ) I'd love to sing them oldies like this (: .

  • This creeps me out like hell!

  • @xiTsSam97x Lmao I don't take chances and go in disguise. Then I knife the pedobears from behind when they try getting at teddies.

  • Did anyone else immediately think of Banjo Kazooie Music?

  • Who sings this? Honestly, it's a nice voice.

  • @recordnerd21

Jesus, just look at the title of the video!

  • @NarlepoaxIII Henry Hall didn't sing it. He simply lead the orchestra.

  • @recordnerd21 i think that's Henry Hall himself singing?

  • @trentonfox No, it's not. I know it's somebody else, but I am not sure who.

  • @recordnerd21 Val Rosing ;)

  • @recordnerd21 are you serious? Let me help solve the mystery. ...its henry hall

  • I find this song to be absolutely horrifying. I know not why. It just inspires the most frightful, macabre scene in my mind.

  • i always think of dennis potter's tale of sex and loneliness...the bbc wouldn't dare do that now...love henry's accent...unique.

  • My grandma used to play this record for me when I was a kid everynight before bed . Glad i found it again my son will know this song as well as I do.

  • music theory analysis, sorted :D

  • Grunty approves.

  • My grandfather ALWAYS sang this song! He drove me, my brother and my cousins crazy with it hahah!

  • A bass saxophone! I thought it was a bari until the solo.

  • The new Audi commercial uses this song and it reminded me of the many happy hours I spent as a child playing this record and marching around the parlor! Great memories!

  • that randy syncopation leads me to believe those teddy bears were doing a bit more than just picnicing.

  • This song just has something that is so likable and childlike about it. This is real music.

  • Love this. This song was the Theme song for the 1950's radio program called "No school today" it was a 90 minute radio show for kids on Saturday mornings. Long before children's TV came alone.

  • all it needs now is some vintage porn

  • When talent was natural and not digital or paid for.

  • I just heard this on the Audi commercial too and it really gave me a start. I haven't thought about this song in years, and it was my favorite as a kid! I would play the record over and over. Love it!

  • old disney movie is right! when i heard this on the audi commercial i bet it was from like a snow white movie...

  • My grandma sang this song to me when I was a little girl. I'll definitely be singing this to my daughter. Great childhood memories

  • omg

  • my father passed away some years ago. Whenever we would go for walks in the woods he would sing the song, even when i was 40 yrs. old! I made him write the lyrics down because i could never remember the whole thing. just a few days ago I found the lyrics, decided to look it up and lo and behold, Henry Hall! Thank God it's still out there. what a wonderful childhood memory!

  • Who else is reminded of an old Disney, cartoon-y movie, when listening to this?

  • @FullyBakedMuffin Heffalumps and Woozles!

  • @FullyBakedMuffin

hmmm, it actually reminds me of Banjo Kazooie

  • @DemomanX614 thats because the theme of Gruntilda's lair is a modified version of this song

  • Love this song, brings back many childhood memories :) thanks for posting this vid

  • For 1932 I think this audio recording is surprisingly good quality.

  • @lelenina2 The technology existed to record sounds as well as we hear them now by the end of the twenties, but for many reasons (mainly money) it didn't happen :(

I don't care, i my lair ready for the dumb Bear.

  • thumbs up, if you come from gruntilda's lair music from banjo kazooie

  • Thank you. These lovely old tunes by Harry Hall, Peter Dawson and the like were favourites of my grandfather who had been a radio presenter in Brisbane, Australia during the 1930s. "Teddy Bears' Picnic" was a particular favourite which he used to sing to my late mother when she was just a wee lass during WWII when her father was serving as a Staff Sergeant in Australian Army Intelligence working as a cipher clerk.

  • 18 people got killed by Naughty Bear

  • Who? Tell me who can hate this song?

  • @TheMFMoon Anyone who hates this song must be mad.!It is really good but maybe the ones who do not like it are too young to remember the innocent times.!

  • @julestheangel you may have been innocent , but the times were most def. not !!

  • I love this songXD It's got that kinda rhythmic haunting that so many of Henry Hall's songs do. Though, does anyone else thing it's creepy that he's implying that if the kids crash the Teddy Bear Picnic that they'll all gang up on that kid like a lynch mob or something? Warning the kids to stay out of the woods because of the Teddy Bears...it just seems so creepy to me>,>

  • alice is dead 2 right?

  • Anyone who says this song is creepy has lost touch with their inner child and should probably attend the next Teddy Bears' Picnic in their area.

  • @thomont I guess some people find this song creepy due to its usage in "a zed and two noughts" Where it is used in the begining of the final scene, which is quite morbid.

  • Oh god, here comes Naughty Bear...

  • The music that inspired Grunty's Lair in Banjo-Kazooie! :D

  • This is the most sinister song I know

  • Gruntilda lair theme!

  • 15 people don't let their teddy bears go to the picnic.

  • Is it just me or is this song a little eerie at some points?

  • 15 people went into the woods without a disguise

  • I almost like this song as much as "Here comes the Boogeyman!"

  • @artsyfartsy1998 Kids should be more afraid of when the Pedobears have THEIR "PICNIC". xD

  • @GhostEye187 I never play the song Little Red Riding Hood on my Halloween outdoor boombox cos it sounds kind of perv. But this year I will play it, since the Fort Hood massacre proves it is a very adult and very soldier-macho song. Good to know.

  • @GhostEye187 Shuuudddeeeerrrr....

  • god that is creepy..

  • and one of the Teddy bears was named Banjo...:)

  • Teddy bears were good then, can you imagine them home for 6pm today, not a chance..

    "bears eh!"

  • So anyone hear this in the Doctor Who Episode "The Invasion" or...on "The Young Ones?

  • This is the original version from 1932. In those days, the BBC used this recording as an audio & frequency test because the audio spectrum was so wide, due to the bass saxophone.

  • I suppose that only people around my age - 66! - will understand/appreciate this song. I had an old 78 record with this song on it, and I used to sing it when I was little. Very nostalgic. Not the least bit creepy, for goodness sakes.
