  • Maybe we could blend the carrot and water instead of baby food.

  • remy? omg thatss my aunt's dog's name! hahaa he's so cute

  • i can detect a southern drawl..:-)

  • Thats so sweet but you can NEVER put any seasoning even if its just a LITTLE bit of salt! =]

  • If I had my dog again, I would definitely make these for her. :)

  • baby food is full of msg.

  • @websuspect The baby food I used had no MSG. It only had the vegetable and water. Please read the labels carefully and choose the ones that are all natural.

    --Betty :)

  • I'm jealous of Remi!

  • Remi just like a kid, he wasn't interested in the carrot and water but he wanted to taste the turkey and beef lolol. Even dogs don't like veggies.

  • Awwwwwwe I LoVe Remy ! How Sweet.

Do u think I could use Rolled Oats instead of Powdered Milk ?

  • @DorPurseFreak Yes, I think rolled oats would be a great substitution!

    --Betty :)

  • Remy is so cute. God bless all of you!

  • @pfromri Thank you (on Remy's behalf!) Thanks for your sweet sentiment.

    --Betty :)

  • does it have to be DRY milk? can we use wet milk from a carton?

  • @Thily1234 If you use wet milk, you will need to add enough flour to the dough so you can form cookies.

    --Betty :)

  • I love Remi! HE'S JUST THE CUTEST THING! i love how he's like "eh.." to the carrots and wants to jump on the table for the turkey and beef!

  • Ur dog is soooooo cute :)

  • remy is so cute i cant wait to make these for my dog

  • Remy is just too precious! Love him!!

  • I used the BeechNut because the Gerber seemed to have other ingredients in them. Remember to get the large jar of carrots and not the small. Also, as I mentioned below, it's Saturday and I went out to supper and she usually eats supper with me so I feel like since she ate these (4 cookies, to be exact) she got something nutritious into her instead of just eating treats. I yield 15 cookies. They were a little burnt on the bottom so next time I think I will put them in for 12 mins.

  • It's Saturday, December 18, 2010. I got the ingredients for this recipe and they sat on my stove for about a week and a half and I was going to make them and going to make them and finally I did tonight. My maltese, Disney, was pacing in the kitchen while I was preparing them for cooking in the oven. She's very picky and I didn't think that she would even eat them but I made them anyway. Guess what -- she loved them. I gave them to her and she growled for me not to take them away from her.

  • well sweetheart you are so lovely :)

    greetengs from serbia

  • What Brand Of BABY Food are You Usingg ??

  • What Brand Of Dog Food are You Usingg ??

  • @MuSiiKBayBee97 My dog mainly gets cooked food, but I try various brands of dog food on him. He just likes cooked food better!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen

    What ounce-size are those jars?

  • @SinnFein4ever I don't have any at home right now; it's just a standard small jar.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen

    Ok.

I'll just go with the 6 oz.-sized jar, and see how it goes.

    Thanks anyway.

  • heys so cute! i had a mini but he passed away :( he was diabetic and blind. Im getting a toy now.

  • I made these and my dog loves them. Thanks for making this video

  • @TheMakeupjunkie23 Thanks for the great feedback! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • @TheMakeupjunkie23 Remy is never around kittens--unless he goes to the vet, and there they are in cages. I think he finds them curious.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen

The first batch of them came out beautifully.

Do you know if dogs can eat spinach?

I'm thinking of making another batch of them for Saint Patrick's Day; with a little bit of green food-coloring in them, and my bottle of green food-coloring is made from spinach.

  • @SinnFein4ever I really don't know if dogs can eat spinach. It seems weird to me that they can't eat grapes, so I'm hesitant to say that spinach is fine. Maybe someone else will know.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen

    Ok.

    I'll ask my vet.

    Thanks for your input anyway.

I remember that you did a little vidio of foods not to feed your dog awhile ago; but I can't remember the title of it.

Can you please tell me what it was called?

  • .It is Quick Tip 70:

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen

    Thanks!

    :)

  • @bettyskitchen

I just got off the phone with my vet, and she says that dogs can eat spinach, as long as it's in small quantities; and that it should be alright to put in a few drops of spinach-based food-coloring in the cookies.

So tomorrow it will be green doggy cookies at the the Saint Patrick's Day parade!

(and green-colored pistashio-butter cookies for the humans)

    Thanks for all your tips!

    Happy (belated) Saint Patrick's Day!

    And party hearty.

    (but not too hearty ;)

  • @SinnFein4ever Thanks for the great info for everyone!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen

    You're welcome!

Now, I've got a slew of cooking to do in the kitchen, before I hit the parade tomorrow, so it's adios, for me.

    Goodnight!

    :)

  • P.S.

You can often get a lot of rather expensive fish (wild salmon, yellow-fin tuna, swordfish...ect.) for you dog or cat for free, by going to the seafood department of your local supermarket and asking the person at the counter if they have any left-over heads, tails, or innards.

    That's what I do.

I got a HUGE left-over cleaned salmon last time.

It lasted them for three days.

    :)

  • @SinnFein4ever That is a *great* tip! Thanks for sharing!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen

    You really mean it?

I hope I'm not being too pesky.

  • @SinnFein4ever I love good tips that I haven't heard about! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen

    Thanks!

I don't suppose you have any cats, do you?

  • @SinnFein4ever No, I don't have cats--but I like them!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen

How does Remy feel about kitties?

    ;)

  • And if you have a cat as well as a dog, you can also make them Salmon Mousse.

You need 4 oz cooked salmon, 1/2 cup skim milk, 1TBSP softened butter creamed, several cooked shrimp (shelled), and up to 1/2 cup prepared gelatin.

You put the salmon and the milk in a blender, then when it's creamy, you stirr in the butter, and beat it until it's stiff.

Then put it in a bowl, add the shrimp, pour heated gelatin on it, and put it in the frindge for a few hours.

My cats and my dog both love it.

  • this reminds me of my dog that passed away about a month ago.. Rocky.. he looks so much like Remy.. makes me sad i miss him so much..

  • CUTE DOG!!!!!!! "he's a little shy today." HAHA!! wow nice recipe. my greedy schnauzer will love it ^^

  • @kole6 I will put that on my list--Remy will approve of the suggestion!

    -Betty :)

  • Happy Birthday Remy. How sweet, I loved this video, I put it on my favs. I am going to make my Basset Hound some. I think my dog Marko will love these. It is so cute how Remy watches you make the treats. He knows they are for him, he can hardly wait.

  • remy kis my little sisters nick name. Great video. I just oput a recipe i just came uo with in the oven for my little dog poeman .

  • remy is my chinchillas name

  • I love your dog, Betty, super cute and so polite!

  • hi betty, if i can't find dried milk, what can i use as a substitute?

i just discovered your videos last night and i love them!!

i'm gonna make some of these for my chi, taylor :)

    hugs to remy! :)

  • If you can find creamer (like you put in coffee), that would work. If you can't find either dry milk or creamer, you can leave it out. If the mixture is too runny, add more wheat germ, so that you can form the cookies. I saw Taylor on your channel--How sweet!

    --Betty :)

  • Great, thanks for the suggestion! :) Can't wait to make these! Your videos are great! Thanks for sharing your recipes. :)

  • I sometimes like to add carob bean chips to mine.

They taste a lot like chocolate, but unlike chocolate, are not poisonious to dogs.

Many people who are diabetic or allergic to chocolate, use them as a substitute.

    I'm making a batch tonight.

  • my pup luuuuuved them!!

    tnx

  • I just made these cookies for my 16 year old little peekapoo who is very fussy. He Loves them!!! Thank you so much!!! One quick question, do they have to be kept cold? and I used Parchment Paper to bake which turned out good. Thanks Betty, I love all your receipts!!!

  • Thanks for your wonderful comment! Yes, I would keep them in the refrigerator,. Since they are soft, not brittle, they would spoil more easily if left out at room temperature. Thanks for asking!

    (Big hugs to your peekepoo!)

    --Betty :)

  • of couarse thier cookies for dogs. thier called DOG COOKIES and its super cheapt to make a gift by the way

  • wow nice what kind of dogs is this ! !?

  • @axellable she said at the start of the video

  • I have a mini poodle too!

  • Doesnt baby food have alot of onion and stuff in which is really bad for dogs? :/

  • It can. I specifically looked on the jars I bought. They had only carrots and water, and meat and broth--no sodium, onion powder or garlic powder. You do need to watch out for baby food, though.

    --Betty :)

  • What a sweet fella! I'm going to try this for my dog Beans. How old is your fur-son? Mine is 7 =D

  • @reboobyq I was midway through when I wrote this! I saw he was 8 at the end! =D I noticed he had a grey muzzle. So i thought he could be an older gentleman.

I had a German Shepard. Heidi, she knew I wasn't well, even before I knew, she wouldn't leave my side which I thought was strange for her to be that clingy, I took ill with a Pulmonary Embolism soon after. I was in hospital for 1 month and Heidi fretted and wouldnt' eat until I came home. I have lots of things to say about Heidi and I miss her soo much!!
