The fact is he is right it is an inconsistency, however you can read the book of Jasher and other apocryphal books. Some books were destroyed and lost.
If we were to all write an account of the same story u would get different accounts and inconsistencies.
Man is at fault, that does not cancel the Bible as relevant. The very fact you have 4 Gospels with minor difference only testifies to the fact there were inconsistencies.
Ask yourself, are you now saying Christ never existed or walked on this earth? Or are u simply stating people have been at fault in recording what they could remember.
@infamos wht he is saying is most children are made to believe tht the bible is perfect and has no errors contrary to wht the evidence shows. tht spells indoctrination. why dont they tell children that not everything in the bible is correct and infact some of it is subject to the perceptions of mortal individuals. tht alone is enough to bring the whole bible into question
@nyashcm, yes human beings are fallible, that again proves nothing, God did not write the bible so that is no reflection on the relevancy of the message, the substance of what it contains despite textual differences and translations.
@nyashcm you could asdk a buddhsit, a muslim etc the same question, its not a case of blind faith, and from my studying of the bible the one aspect which is not based purely in faith is prophecy.
The accuracy or infalibility of the prophecies it contains show it was given by divine inspiration.
No other book comes close to the bible in ots portrayal of how events would unfold throughout history.
@infamos i have not read the whole bible but for the sake of argument, lets say that the bible is 99% accurate. the one percent inaccuracy makes it less than perfect contrary to wht we've been taught from infancy. all i am sayin, u cld tell children that the bible is good but do not say that it is perfect otherwise u would be lieing
@nyashcm I see where u r coming from, it is wrong that people teach that the bible in its modern form is perfect because it is not due to apocryphal books, different translations, interpretations etc.
My point is still on the substance of what it actually contains and that it is divinely inspired by the Creator, that is my opinion.
@infamos am happy that we r starting to converge. i also agree that the substance is valuable. the imperfections run much deeper tho. the bible was created by plagerising ancient egyptain hyrogriphics. it is claimed that all the stories in the bible are the first of their kind but u find strikingly similar stories in ancient egypt writing that is dated centuries earlier than the biblical dates.
@infamos cont. it gets deeper, ancient egypt was ruled by blacks therefore they were the original authors of these words of wisdom. the whole conspirecy was to whitewash these ancient teachings and present them with white authorship and domintation. by destroying our history, they made us believe that we r inferior and it is still effective as long as we blindly believe. i urge u to explore jesus real skin color, also look up the black madonna.
@infamos cont. research about the council of nicea, DIG DEEP, the truth is hidden but its there. look up videos by ben jochannan. u r about to embark on a journey of a lifetime... The good news is that u dont have to give up your spirituality. i still read the bible but i am more caerful
@nyashcm I understand what you are getting at, some of the hebrew letters are similar hieroglyphs, I realise that there are Egyptian.Kemetic influences on Hebraic culture and ideas etc but thats because the stories have a common origin.
The same can be said about Mesopotamian legends etc.
They are all telling the same stories from different traditions which of course creates the inconsistencies.
I am suspicous of Council of Nicea but I cant quite put my finger on it.
@infamos am glad that your knowledge is this deep. i usually use the example of the ten commandments. were they really given to moses by god. evidence proves that those commandments existed b4 the birth of moses. infact, they were 42 negetive confessions in kemet. the jews claim the torah to be their own but a lot of its contents is engraved in kemetic stone. that leads me to believe that they created the torah by readin hieroglyphs then claimed authorship. wht do u think
@nyashcm ,It would be stupid to think Egyptian thought and knowledge did not have any influence
I believe that there was a type of synthesis between kemetic and hebrew culture with Moses. Moses grew up in the courts of the Pharoah, he had insight into "occult" - Kemetic mystery school thought and ideology.
With this knowledge hebrew was developed along with mono-theism, and is therefore not plagirized because Kemet was most definetly polytheistic, so that cannot be copying.
@infamos lets put some dates into this. moses is said to have died 1271 BCE. 3200 BCE at the birth of the great Kemetic civilization, King Narmer united lower and upper egypt. one of the hurdles he had to overcome to cement the unity was to get the worshipers of Amen and those of Ra to worship one god. he came up with Amen-Ra 2000 yrs b4 moses. tell me that is not monotheism!! its robbery to say that monotheism started with moses.
@nyashcm I never said monotheism started with Moses, other civilisatins have given homage to one singular deity. I havent heard this info about King Narmer, but what happened to Isis, Osiris, Anubis etc during the introduction of Amen-Ra as a singular deity and how long was this for because I know Akhenaten trien the ame thing with Aten but the Egyptians werent to thrilled and went back to worshipping Amun and the other pantheon.
@infamos Plagerism: "The act of appropriating the literary composition of another author, or excerpts, ideas, or passages therefrom, and passing the material off as one's own creation." moses did not start anything. the torah, whose credit is given to moses, has borrowed heavily on the hieroglyphs which were developed centuries before moses, however, they say that the stories in the torah originated when god revealed them to moses eg the ten commandments, originally the 42 negetive confesions
@infamos there u've sed it, the bible was writen by fallible human mortals. so u shd start teaching children the truth, that the bible is not perfect.
I'm not sure who this so-called person is but it would be nice to talk with him. The bible speaks of people like him who are, "void of understanding" Prov 7:7,12:11,10:13,17:18. The bible also speaks about "false teachers" 2 Peter 2:1-22,Ezekiel 13:1-23,1 John 4:1-21,Jude 1:1-25. The bibel also speaks about a "lying tongue" Proverbs 6:16-19, Proverbs 26:28. The bible is God's Word read it for yourself don't believe what someone else says.
Many get confused with the Lineage of Jesus, it's best to draw it out, read, and understand it. Follow the bible not others. Everything you need can be found in the bible (you need not an outside source).Read Matthew13"The Parable of the Sower". Please feel free to email me with further questions or comments.
To comment on Luke 3:23,"And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,"Here the bible is not focusing on Jesus but on Joseph.

Jacob traces through Joseph's lineage. Heli traces though Mary's. Nathan & Solomon were BROTHERS!
So sad--I pray the people are not THIS easily deceived.
