help? i got a nvidia geforce 8400 and it says it has PhysX . does it mean it will work?

no because the game has not been updated to support gpu physx. also gpu physx wont work on your 8400 unless it has atleast 256mb the 128mb version will not work for gpu physx. so even if they did update it it depends on if ur 8400 has enough memory

yes it is.. nvidia took over ageia and all the new video cards have a physx accelerator. i think since the geforce 9' series

so if u have a GTX 260/280 or a geforce 9800 its pretty normal i guess.

no they dont have physx accelerators they are using stream processors (same things that do shader effects) and cellfactor isnt updated to use gpu physx it can only use the ageia physx cards. and physx support is avaliable on any nvidia gpu that is the 8 series or up with atleast 256mb video memory.

yes but all physx will be processed on the cpu and will be slow unless u have a high end dual core processor. single cores will struggle. and since physx will be in software mode this means no true fluids.

not really the physX helps yout processor handle the physics processing, if you didnt have it, then mass physics explosions and computing would lag your pc, so it only stops lag

You don't need a PhsyX card to play CellFactor. Yust add "EnablePhysX=false" to the end of the shortcut target. Performance loss is minimal. except for the cloth effects.

I am sick of people claiming to be able to 'hack' the game to run without a PPU, like it is some sort of great secret they don't want you to know about. You cannot 'hack' it when the command to enable software mode is built into the game; hell they even patched it to allow cloth in software mode at a later date, does this sound like something they are trying to hide?
