  • thank you the video , its very clear and nice demonstrate.

  • that is not sharp; if you can pass the hanging hair test then it would be classified as sharp.

  • any sheath modifications?

  • I own the larger magnum khukri and I love it. If you do baton with it don't be surprised if the handle splits down the middle from shock. It's not a real big deal I wrapped mine in paracord then a couple layers of hockey tape and have no problems.

  • Those khukhuris are only for british gurkha soldiers

  • Hey where did get khukhuri hun hun hun

  • do you know how hard it would be to drill holes into the blade? thats some mods im thinking about doing but im i dont wanna break all my drill bits.

  • @jared8oliver lmao. that would make it even lighter and even less of an effective weapon. what looks good in the movies isnt really practical. however with some carbide drill bits and bimetal hole saws it shouldnt be an issue. for 17 bucks go for it. can always buy another.

  • @TacticalKnine im a ultralight backpacker, i try to save on weight everyway possible. thats why i have this bc its so many tools in one.

  • It's actually 1055 carbon steel, not 1095.

  • Thanks, Blackie. It is cheap, but it needs some DIY work, which is very unusual for Cold steel products. On the other hand, many people by now realized that they just don't have a heart to abuse their expensive, beloved knives. That's where CS Kukri comes in.

  • Awesome mods awesome video. I carry one of these on my med. Alice pack and it is well worth the money.

  • Love the vid, great info - many thanks.

  • that is correct.. mine was around 20 bucks as i remember it..i have seen them for as little as 15 bucks on sale

  • this is the one for 20 $ right

  • @drillbitt20 you can get the cs magnum kukri for 17 bucks now adays which is an amazing deal for an 18 inch blade. idk how they make them so cheap yet so good!

  • nice video right on man!~

  • Thanks for the reply on the grind. I'll be working on mine getting ready for the spring. I'll be using my CS machete for garden clearing, so i've got a while to get ready.

  • for the angle i simply followed the bevel line that is about a half inch above the factory edge...i used a long file and took my time..it is ineffect a short scandi edge now...be sure to keep the edge even on both sides if you take too much off one side it will cause the edge profile to roll to one side...thansk for the comment,,safe journeys

  • Thank you for calling a machete, not a true khukri! What type of angle did you grind the blade at? I've sharpened mine, but the edge is not a shallow as yours. Great for chopping, not so great for cutting / slicing.

  • outstanding review. i wish all people could give a quality review of a exceptional tool like the khukuri knife. i have 2 and i supplement each with a sog fusion tomahawk. another outstanding tool for larger cutting work. after all its all about burning less calories for the task you have at hand. hope to see more reviews from you sir.

  • Nice video Dude - I have done some extensive chopping tests with this machete and really like it. (Check out my vids). For the price it is an awe some chopper. Couple of things - First I too para wrapped the handle to begin with because like you said the handle will mangle your hand. However the paracord made the handle slick and when wearing leather gloves my hand slipped while chopping. I have since removed the paracord and layered bicycle tubes around it. Night and Day difference.

  • @BSRadar100 - You could just put one layer over your paracord wrap if you want to keep it on the handle so you still can have a place for emergency paracord. Second, the steel is 1055 - not 1095. Wish it was 1095 - but the blade is tough as nails. Lastly, due to the thickness of this blade only being 1/8" thick, batoning some hard woods can be challenging. I have got this blade stuck while trying to baton. So I would not try splitting thick hard pieces. Otherwise, great machete - great price too

  • Most of the ones made in South Africa are still available, like this one. I heard the factory in China where the others were made burned down, which is why they were discontinued. Don't know for sure, just a rumor. Love the nice wide bevel on this one, similar to mine. I need to try some handle wraps to see if I like it. I think the steel is 1055, much tougher than 1095, at the expense of hardness potential.

  • Thanks mate great review, I note that Cold Steel have discontinued a lot of their old machete stuyles like the Kopis, Bowie and Norse Sax but the Kukri remains in their lineup, so I guess that is a strong indicator of popularity if not performance

  • Awesome, I'm currently shaprening mine as we speak, my favorite part is "If i hit anything, its falling off or damaged." Keep cutting and keep truckin

  • Blackie, fine vid and info.5/5*

i have Kershaw Outcast in D2.

    cold steel great blades thanks.
