This a truly marvellous opera (and not an operatta - it is sung all through) with complex music/themes and glorious melodies. A very much under rated opera - perhaps it had too many tunes for 1935?!!!

schizophrenic ease...like listening to

one person with multiple personalities!

He is absolutely mesmerizing and can

make one love or hate his character

in a flash! Cannot tell where Pernet

begins and Shylock leaves off! Great

Un superbe chanteur-acteur capable de nous suggérer toute une gamme d'émotions utilisant cette voix qui a sa propre beauté. J'apprécie beaucoup cet extrait qui met en valeur le grand talent de Pernet.
