  • Best catear tutorial ever.

    the others look so fake!

  • do you make and sell them if someone ask you to and if so how much do you ask for

  • I love your cat ears!

But I'm really curios about how you made the hair band with the flowers *-*

Please make a video about tha tooo :3

  • Two words : YOUR AMAZING!!!!

  • ohh thank you soooo much*-*

i needed to know how to do something like this for a cosplay, and finally i've found it! But i haven't understood really well what kind of glue do i have to use ... could you tell me if i have to use a vinyl glue or another tipe?

  • @BurningPhobos I think I just used hot glue in there, but I've pretty much stopped using hot glue. It doesn't hold to plastic or metal well. I really would rather suggest e600 glue. It's my new favorite! I'm glad if it can be a useful video to you. Take care!

  • LOL a hello kitty aid band ! :D

Cute ears !! never thought to make them from non fabric things~

  • Generally, 2 - 2.5 inch for the middle for both ears work. if you want it really smooth you can just use sand paper to smoothen them out ^_^

  • i don't have any of dat stuff. :)

  • nice ^^ now I also have maked one pair, and I totally love it, I'm going to make more of them I think... but do you also wear then normally? that just as costume?

  • THNK YEW FOR THE TUTORIAL...very well explained:D

  • yup you have to bake it it hardens that way :D

  • yes thats wat she means =)

  • @kazeyuusha yes ^^

  • Soo cool......ty

  • would you use the same kind of glue to put on fluffy feather-like stuff for the inner ear fluff?

  • Honestly I think that really depends on how much fluffy stuff you're using. Fluff can be really fine and if you're using only a small amount, something like hot glue is so thick and plentiful that all your fluff might mash down and look limp and icky. So I'd either use a lot of fluff or maybe even try a thinner glue like just elmer's glue and see how that works. It's kind of hard to say without seeing what material you're actually using. Just make a small test piece maybe and experiment.

  • cool vid. i dont know if it will help me for my ears though. --- im tring to make one with juri from yu yu hakusho. and idk if the same steps apply to this

  • You are really creative ^^ Thanks so much for the tutorial! This will save me so much money on a cheap halloween costume from party city -_-

  • Heck yeah. Down with commercial Halloween costumes! My mum spoiled me in early life by always making our costumes so I've never purchased one before. Once I found out how much people spend on them and saw how they're even really flimsy I was kind of shocked.

  • i could make ears like ikuto!!

  • Yay n.n

  • thanks for the tut :3 wanna also make them ^^

  • Yay! I hope you will show me your finished ears!

  • LOL AT THE END LOL

  • u...u Yeah, I'm skilled*

  • Awesome video! The steps seem easy to follow. I love arts and craft and I can't wait to try this out with my little sister. :)

  • That's really cool! I'd like to see what you guys make if you want to show me a picture or make a video. n...n That'd be really neat!

  • mil, mil, milm gracias port vieo, era justo lo que estava buscando por que esas orejas me emcantan, gracias de corazon por el video

    KAWAY!!!

  • Gracias n...n

  • would you recomend glueing fuzz to the inside of the ear? It would hide blemishes without all the ribbon and floral decorations.

  • Would I recommend it? I don't know, sure! I'd think anyone can do anything they want. Personally I like the ribbons and flowers because I didn't really want them to look like 'real' cat ears so much as just costumey. This is how I like them, but by all means, you should be doing exactly what you want with yours.

  • OMG

Finally I can make a pair by myself!!!

    :)

  • Good! Did you make some already? Let me see? n.n

  • omg that is the cutest thing i've ever seen!

  • Really? Yay! Thanks much. (Sorry... uh... delaaaayed...)

  • OMG i have the EXACT SAME HEADBAND!!!!

  • XD It's like we're headband soul mates.

  • Hell YES!!!!!!!!!!

  • how exactly do you make the ears them selves.......lik not the head band put the bakeing stuff

  • this is part two to the video, the first part tells you how to make the ears :)

  • Do you mean how do you shape them? This is part two of the video. Part one shows how to form them. Sorry if you already figured that out, I know I'm late in replying. Take care!

  • Thanks, this was easy to follow ^^ I think I'm going to try it

  • Yay, I'm glad! It is definitely an easy project that pretty much anyone can tackle even without a lot of experience. (Sorry for the long delay before replying!)

  • if you wanted 2 do an ikuto cosplay r the steps the same and how would u hide the seam?

  • WOOT a ikuto fan! half the reason why i watch shugo chara!

  • Dude, no idea. XD Everybody seems to ask me about the Ikuto character but now that I've seen the pictures, I think I'd actually suggest that instead of clay, you carve an ear out of floral foam and make a very short nap fur fabric ear and fit it over the foam like a glove. You know? Anyway, sorry for the long delay. Was on maternity leave. : D Take care!

  • Quick question: I'm making some ears for a Strike Witches cosplay, and her ears are very very furry. What could I use to make them look tufty / furry? I was thinking of feathers, but I'm not sure if something like fake fur was buyable from a place like Michael's.

  • Sorry for the delay in reply- You can probably get fake fur from most fabric stores or by tearing apart an old teddy or plush from your collection or a thrift store. I've never tried to do that personally, but I bet it'd be not hard. If you're going that route though, why not just make them all out of stuffed fabric, because then they'd be awfully light?

Sorry, I'm just not very up on anime, so I don't know what ears from Strike Witches would look like, but all I can say is play around! <3

  • Don't worry about it. What I did is I bought some felt from Michael's, then made the ears as you said. Before attaching them to the headband, I wrapped them in the felt and glued it. I left it loose in the back, then stuffed it with stuffing (because i had made my ears too flat). They're heavy, but they look great!

  • Glad that it worked out, then! Share some pictures or a video?

  • AAhh! Forgot to say ^^ Awesome job XDD

  • Yay. <3 You should make and respond with a video of you and your friend.

  • Awesome! I never thought of doing that for cat ears *huggles* Now I think I know how I'm going to make my Cheshire Cat ears! (most likely, hha)

  • Awesome. n.n

  • wow...that is just awesome.

Im gonna try tht :P and so is my friend

    we wanna do cosplay.

There are never any Anime Conventions in the UK >:

  • Aww there are!! There was the london expo, which was today and yesterday ^^ I didnt get to go but theres another one in May! You should check it out ^^

  • Really!?

    I never new that

    Thanks

Do you no what dates it will be?

  • Well the october one was yesterday and saturday... I couldnt make it... But theres another one in May, and next october... not sure of the exact date... Itll be my first expo ^^

    Catch you there? XDD

  • ye okay

im gonna go to the may 1 cos my bday s in may :D

  • Hope you and your friend have fun if you find one! n.n

  • OMG the cat ears r gonna turn out great but i wuz paintin them and i spilled pink paint on the table cloth so i tried cleening it but it just spred more so i covered it up as best as i could.......i hope my mom dont figure out the lamp is moved over.........

  • Oh my god, that made me laugh pretty hard. I had to tell my hubby. I'm a bad influence, huh??

I'd check online for methods to remove paint from fabric and try before your mum sees rather than rely on a lamp. The sooner you try to remove a stain, the better chance you'll have getting it out. XD Um... Good luck with that.

But hey, can I see a picture of the ears when done? Or make a video, like Brokenache, as you can see above! :D

  • i would love too but i dont hav a video camera YET...and im still working on the ears i need to find sum ribbon i know i hav it and there kinda fallin aprt becuz i had them on table my dog got them and slobered them up so i got it off him and i used the wrong clay cuz the only clay i had was modeling clay for my sisters pottery wheel lol

  • Oh... uhhhh x...x XD Clay like that needs to be fired. Even if it dries out in the air, it'll be really brittle. XD Maybe better to go to the shops and try to get some air-dry polymer or oven baking polymer. It's only a dollar and some change per 2oz square. n.n<3

  • I like the band-aid! haha

Very nice video, though. I'll probably make some next Halloween.

  • That'd be super fun! n.n (I think I have a bandaid or a cut of some kind in practically EVERY video. ;...; I need to learn how to play safe. XD)

  • do you have an website where you sell all the stuff you make or?

    great job btw ! :D

    they look really kyut :D

  • I tried to respond, but I think it was scoping for links to cut them out of comments and my creative attempt to write it down kept the message from going through. I do, and thank you for asking. It's Meandrous. b iz and you can see it listed on the ends of some of my other videos. :) Sorry for the delay in response! I just didn't realise it hadn't gone through before.

  • it ok :P thank you :*

  • Really good tutorial.. but can you just send me some I'm too lazy to make them. .__.

I mean, my hands are not gifted in the ways of making cat ears! You're are.. so, please..?

  • Too lazy? XD Well... at least you're honest.

Send me a message on YouTube and we can talk about custom work. <3

  • Ohh. xD I was kidding. I mean, I AM too lazy but

I have no need for cat ears.. at least not now. xD Sorry.. >>; but, you ARE gifted in the ways of making cat ears! That's not a lie..

  • Thanks! Well, you never know. I've actually gotten 3 custom requests since this video, so I thought you were serious! XD

Hey, you never NEED cat ears, they're just good to have around! You never know when they might come in handy. You know. They're like Swiss Army Knives that way. They might save your life. Or something.

  • So if someone is breaking into my house, and I can't find my Swiss Army Knife, but I've got cat ears, it's all cool, right? XD

  • Dude. Cat ears COME on a Swiss Army Knife. They're -that- useful. >.......>

  • haha ahh i loved this reply! Excellent video, real good talent! I'm not too good with arts and crafts, but I'm attempting to put fabric cat ears on one of my sweaters, because they are indeed as, if not MORE, useful than a swiss army knife! :D

  • ....umm is there a way i can make this with out putting flowers or ribbons or any thing girly (other self: dude you're making cat ears thats already girly as it is)*whispers* you stay out of this (other self: whats next? a ponytail?)......(other self: i had to ask.....) shut up.... oh! i forgot i was leaving a comment. uhh yeah b4 u ask, yes i'm crazy. sry bout that (other self: seriously do you have no shame).....

  • yeah uhh ignore the fact that i talk to myself

  • hot gluing faux fur would be my suggestion. Then you get adorable ear fluffies, plus it hides the seams without being so girlie

  • I think that's a great idea, actually. I've seen some people put on some little fluff and it covers it quite well.

  • XD No problem... that sounds like my mind. I like MisfortuneLlama's suggestion. That's what I would have said, anyway. Just be creative with it. You could also maybe add some less girly faux leather straps or cut the clay to make a jagged ear tear or give it a peircing. You could put on some aged looking bells or just do without anything and let your hair cover it. n.n

  • oh duh y didn't i think of that? cover it with my hair, gawd girls are smart, you girls cheat with you superior knowledge of... stuff... okay i couldn't think of another big word to use but I'm a guy and we don't think good... i mean well... i mean ... nevermind i'll just stop talking now

  • second one! lol j/k i really love your project they're awsome :]

  • See?? Betty knows how to play the damn game! D:

Anyway, thanks a lot! I'm glad you looked. (plus I love reading comments.) If you wanna make some, it'd be supah cool, and you should show me! <333

  • I just happened to hit on this a few minutes after you uploaded it and before the first one was up... haha. Anyhow, your videos are good and clear and entertaining. Always a pleasure to view.

  • Oh my god! You ARE quick! I hadn't even finished uploading the first video for this project! <33

Thank you for saying that! I'm really glad to hear someone enjoys them. I know it's a real niche audience who'd be watching stuff like this, but that's cool- cause it's my favorite kind of people!

And hey! You totally didn't take the opportunity to scream "FIRST!!11" What's your problem?? (j/k)
