  • @IzquierdoDan take the stalk out and re-align it. you probably have it upside down

  • @XionUnjust What do you mean with stalk? the harness behind the cluster?

  • Anyone know where I can purchase the gauge rings?

  • @sinaweena khoalty dot com

  • Great video thanks

  • People like you makes my day great vid thanks.

  • Thank you. It´s really help me.

  • What is the point

  • UNPLUG THE BATTERY BEFORE DOING THESE! (or else your speed meter may not work or being slowed..)

  • i like the way he looks around all the time like if he was doing something illegal :L

  • thanks...great vid !!! do i need to disconect the battery ?

  • @TheOgnjeni Yes, I have heard that there is a chance of your on-board computer stalk not working after or other electrical issues. If you take a minute to disconnect it you should be fine, remember not to close your trunk, lol.

  • @XionUnjust

hehe..thanks.. i apriciate it..especily this for trunk lol XD ( im new with E46 :)

  • It helps.. thanks.

I use this method to make my stupid AIR BAG light never on again!!!

  • thnks for the video i did apply my rings all by myself !

  • I know, I was just wondering because my car may have been alterd

  • How do u alter the Mileage !

    Great Vids Huge Fan !

I did my ICV from your vids keep up the good work!!!

Do a vid on tranny service!!!

  • @TheEdreardon Altering mileage is illegal.

  • @XionUnjust I think my e36 has been changed , when i was playing with the tests and service light stuff on the dash I saw a number that was almost twice as much as it was on the car But i only saw it for a sec, i was wondering how u can be for certain ??

  • @TheEdreardon There will be a tamper dot on your dash.

  • @TheEdreardon Your an idiot

  • @TheEdreardon and you cant. unless you can hack into the memory.

  • @sunnyjason Plus I believe the ECU also keeps track of millage it will show the ecu miles also when hooked to bmw dealer computer.

  • Did you disconnect the battery before unpluging the cluster???

  • Thanks for the video man!

  • great vid,

do you need to unplug the battery first?

and do you also remove the reset pins from the front or you just leave them in?

  • @a2b3c4d5 I would disconnect it, yes.

They come out regardless from what I remember. Just align them back up before installing it all up

  • @cdburrner Yes it's my car

  • Nice video :-)

  • wtf is a tamper dot

  • @OGCMALVERN So people know if the mileage was reset, altered, etc

  • @XionUnjust

But if you change the mileage in all the computers - its easily doable with proper tools - (yes, few places store the actual data) then there is nothing to inform you that someone tampered with it...

  • hi great vid can you tell me anything about mileage calibration on an e46 2004, tks

  • @94scooby1 No, that cannot be done. Tampering with the mileage will result in a tamper dot and in certain areas that's illegal when selling the car.

  • @XionUnjust the dot shows up if the mileage on the instrument cluster does not match the other few computers...

  • Great video and thanks for your help. I found your video while I was looking for a fix for the trip odometer knob which has stopped working and it does not seem to have any springing action. It would just stop doing anything no mater how I turn it. Any idea ? Thanks.

  • @n0rstar Make sure the pins are lined up. The center pin has to go in a certain way.

  • Great video and thanks for your help. I found your video while I was looking for a fix for the trip odometer knob which has stopped working and it does not seem to have any springing action. It would just stop doing anything no mater how I turn it. Any idea ? Thanks.

  • too bad you cant "fix" the odometer

  • @CheckThisOutFoo Why would you want to do that? It's illegal and it create a tamper dot in the mileage area.

  • I have instaled new gluster rings, but the left reset pin it doesnt work!Does anyone know the reason? Thanks.

  • @KOCH4444 I'd take it apart again and make sure that the needle is properly lined up. Happened to me the first time.

  • @KOCH4444 I have done the same job about 2 months ago. If I remember good, the reset pins got a small springs. They have to fit properly to its place. Take Your time when doing this job. You have to be very carefull ;))

  • @BMWmike81 Thanks BMWmike81 for tips! I have properly set the reset pins,i also change it left to right and right to left, watched carefully again and again the clip from XionUnjust. It works only time adjuster, cant understand what is going wrong.

  • The Signature Motoring performance intake kit is only $170 and adds up to 9HP in the E46 323/325/328 and up to 13.9HP in the 330. That's about $17/per extra HP... A good value for the extra oomph.

  • Great diy, super helpful, good job.

  • you know what your talking about parl

  • wait, jake wouldnt painting the needles stop them from lighting them up like they would when your lights are on?

btw thanks for the help on the angel eyes set up theyre like 30% brighter and look great always on.

    -uruguaybmw91 from e46fanatics

  • Very usefull video thanks

  • I've watched this video several times, it is great, but anyone knows how to properly line up the reset pins for the clock and miles counter?

  • @jllnet

Hello, just woke up so sorry for the late reply.

The center tooth should fit into a groove, probably at the top not the bottom. Just make sure to put the 2 plastic light parts down then the sticks. you'll get it :)

  • wow i knew you had a 330i just before you said it, i could tell by looking at the gauges. I got a 325i E46. Nice car love it.

By any chance do you know any headers that would fit an M56 Engine ?

  • For the SULEV engine, no. :( There's really nothing you can do to that type of 325 engine/headwise with that engine. Join bimmerfest and e46fanatics ask the guys out there. There's a few people with that engine that might know.

  • yeah I've already posted a thread there, but no luck. I've searched everywhere, no one has ever done headers on that engine. Someone stated that M54 and M56 headers are completely the same, but i wouldn't know for sure until i find someone who did them. Thnx anyways =D

  • Bella la catenina !!!! :-(

  • thanks

  • thanks. Excellent

  • Hi - Just wanted to say thanks for all the E46 videos. I'm an E46 owner and I enjoy watching and appreciate all the work you put in making and uploading the vids. They're great, very informative and helpful. Thanks very much.

  • Thanks! I really appreciate it. I'll try to make as many vids as I can to help out

  • Excellent video, but can you tell me in what position should the 2 reset button sticks go? in the back they are like a 3-leg stick and can't get them to work, for example the clock knob only rotates to the left and the counter doesn't even to anything. I've tried several times and I can't get the damn thing to be in place, Please help...?

  • Are you Lebanese?!

  • rofl, no I'm Polish

  • kurrva!!!! lol

  • Siema

  • wish there was same mod for e90 with DIYs. :)

  • well, you can probably do it, but all of the E90's are under warranty :P

  • thanx man.. hope u make some more of this videos..

  • thanks dude. i already have some diy vids on maintenance. i'm going to make a diy vid on scanning your car for codes and doing the golf-tee mod soon.

  • this is awsome, thx nice video very understandable

  • Excellent video, you are very good at explaining things succintly. I love the way you do the entire thing in your car, and also the way you look at people going by! Now I know how easy it is to do this mod, thanks.

  • does this reset the cluster, or will everything be fine when you reinsert it>?

  • It will reset the time, mpg, mph and the usual stuff there. The mileage will be fine. Just make sure to take care when you align the two sticks into the cluster.

  • thanks really clear easy to follow instructions

  • No problem ;)

  • Excellent video my man!

  • thanks man

    You're welcome dude.

    -Solidjake

  • thanks for this video!

  • You're welcome!

  • thx for your video. I referenced it when I couldnt remove my OE silver rings to put chrome in. Mine looked like they were glued from the factory and I was afraid of breaking something. I had to use a Xacto knife and trace the back edge......anyway your video gave me courage.

also, did anyone walking by think you were a thief.....you should have kept frantically looking over your shoulder.

    (just for the funny factor:))

    Thx again

  • Thank you!! I'm glad that you were able to get the job done right!! :D

Lol, I think only 2 people passed by me and they did look. Oh well, lol. It would have been funny to have to cops knock on the window and ask what I was doing.

  • i can tell youre from nyc/nj area lol

  • haha

  • Thanks man, this is how a diy is done right. Im off to order me some rings for my E46.

  • Alright, good luck!

  • Hello !!! Can you tell if this process works for the E36's as well. I found pictures but not a video like this one, Seems to be similar. Thank U and thanks for sharing.

  • The concept should be the same, but google BMW e36 cluster removal and see what you get

  • Hey bro, did you already changed the leds in clusters to other color? I'm just wondering it is a hard job or not?

    Best wishes from Poland

  • Czesc. I did not change the bulbs. To do it you have to do soldering, I really don't recommend doing it.

  • where did you buy the silver rings?

  • verry cool,i must buy some silver rings:D

  • Send this video to GM, Ford, and Chrysler.. let them see how easy this was to do. Maybe they will get a clue !

  • haha, maybe I should

  • Thanks very much for this, I just got my silver matt rings and will fit them tonight :)

  • thanks for sharing bro..

  • Youre welcome

  • what is the finished result?!?

  • red sharpie... love it

  • innovation :)

  • Excellent DIY, thank you
