Most malicious viruses download themselves and is stored as a hidden file in the temporary internet files folder, some viruses even extracrt themselves from there. A good solution is regularly delete this system folder under Safe Mode. It is recreated as an empty folder automatically when u restart to windows.

long story short : VIRUSES CAN DOWNLOAD THEMSELVES WITHOUT YOUR KNOWING. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL GUYS!!!
