That sketch sucked. It isn't satire when people wear T-shirts with flags and simply state regional problems like" :There's no cod anymore...". Is that a joke? Is it supposed to be funny...? And what kind of accent was Bainborough using? "Fermez la bouche"...? No one inQuébec would ever say that. They couldn't even get an actual Québec actor with a real Québec accent who can actually speak French?
Canada's got kind of a younger sibling syndrome, until recently, a lot of its policies could be distinctly viewed as exactly like those of its older brothers, USA and Britain.
Of course, after a Quebecois secession, Newfoundland and Labrador(newcomers to Canada) would probably also leave. After that, NS and NB, also having distance from Ottawa, would probably leave(perhaps forming an unlikely union w/ USA. After that, because of less oil takes for Alberta, and the already incredibly American BC culture, secession and then a less unlikely union with the US could also form.
@misharoyuki Yes, and I find it just as interesting as US History. I am especially interested in Newfoundland and how it came to be a part of Canada. Also, what was that comment you posted that was removed?
@thenutintheushanka18 I don't want to sound like an know it all kid or be rude or anything but you said: "Newfoundland and Labrador(newcomers to Canada) would probably also leave. After that, NS and NB, also having distance from Ottawa, would probably leave(perhaps forming an unlikely union w/ USA."
Well, NFL is not really that much of a newcomer, is it? And just because Québec leaves, doesn't mean NFL will, I mean Alaska is not really attached to US, is it?
@misharoyuki And also, if NS and NB leave (XD) because it is far away from Ottawa, it doesn't really make sense for it to join US, because it's even further away from Washington, isn't it? Sorry, that's what my deleted comment was about. Also, I don't think BC is going anywhere, you can argue that Alaska and Montana are as influence by Canada as BC is influenced by USA, doesn't mean that they'll ditch America and join Canada. But they are very pretty places, we don't mind if we hang out. :D
@misharoyuki That's why I said UNLIKELY UNION. Also, Newfoundland was an independent nation until 1949, and there are more than a few Newfoundlanders who think that bureaucrats in Ottawa messed up all their cod. Also, now they have offshore oil, another bargaining chip.
@thenutintheushanka18 Bargaining chip for what? Anyways, I have to stress this fact: it is Newfoundland AND LABRADOR, don't leave them out, we really don't like that around here.

@dbzerbardock Yeah, but all you'd have to do is lose Quebec and the US would take the #2 spot!
