Have you ever added boiled cider to your filling? It's another New England "secret ingredient" dating back to the early settlers' cookery which wins me awards every year at the fairs. Just a couple tablespoons of that pure, natural essence & you're a rock star.

You can make it yourself by reducing local cider, or buy it for less- Wood's Cider Mill in VT sells it online. Not just for pies, either. It's a great addition to other treats & a fantastic pork marinade/glaze. etc...

We ate the last of your "Stuffed Peppy Cheppahs" the other night. Mmm, mmm.... Thanks again for that great recipe, I know there will be twice as many cherry pepper plants in our garden next year.
