I had the honour of playing the part of the Pirate King in my high schools musical this year. I based my character off Jon English's Attitude and Jack Sparrow's physical persona. I certainly hope that I would have done Mr. English proud because this man is a god on Earth.
Jon English is one of my favourite performers. However, as Pirate King he loses to Anthony Warlow and Kevin Kline. That's not saying this is bad, that would be blasphemy. I'm just saying I prefer the other two.
I like this version the best. I have to play in Pirates of Penzance Jr. and I have the Major General's role, and the Jr part just murders the comedy right out of it all.
its fathers in laws....nice job genral....o men of dark and dismil fate is a new song... it said i am an Ar-f-ian boy like a irish says in black and purple... crytic:zmasta
i watch this again and again, trying to remember my lines for the auditions tomorrow... Im auditioning for Pirate King, for the school production. I think I've got it down pat.
no what you need to do is find some of the classic libreto which mr. william shwenk gilbert wrote (not the original i recomend asking in your local second hand book shop)
Hey, I was in this play, I was the Major General! It was so much fun, especially the Major General song! We didn't do all these lines, because I was the oldest in the Junior version. =/ Awesome movie.
my school did this play (i was a pirate (an AWESOME pirate)) and we rocked! My friend (who played the major general) sang bit in ths song in one breath. it was amazing!
OMG I loved that the one in the kilt just kills me when he asks that. It must of been hard not to laugh when he asked that, the look on his face was serious.

wat does he mean orphan frequintly
sharpshootermatthew 2 years ago
'Often frequently'. That's the whole point of the scene - orphan (to have lost one's parents) vs, often (frequently).

umm, it's SCHOOL. they try not to cut anyone, no matter how bad they really are.
StarLine317 2 years ago
Well, despite the chorus of daughters is usually around 9
In this company's productions of G.S. however they always replace the female chorus with the "Fabulous Singlettes".

It is not 200 years old, the opera's official premiere was at the Fifth Avenue Theatre in New York City on December 31, 1879.
