It is clear that we disagree and that is fine but you have mentioned a couple of times her leaving behind "the gay lifestyle". I am assuming you are meaning what most people mean when mentioning that. If that is the case, I don't think it is fair you are calling it the "gay lifestyle" because I believe that "lifestyle is lived by far more straight people then gay people.

I couldn't walk out homosexuality by my own strength. So, yes technically people can't change but God can change them if they let Him. After years of repressing homosexuality and then gratifying homosexual desires, now God has redeemed me completely from homosexuality. So, yes people can actually be changed by God.

The bible is very clear that homosexuality is a sin against God, in fact it is a demonic spirit. Unless an individual confesses and repents (turns away) from their sin they will not enter the Kingdom of God. God's Word is true and will stand.

I usually don't do this but maybe you should read a bit more than Romans Ch1. Read the whole Bible from cover and see all the contradictions. I should know, I am the one that tried beyond everything to change and didn't. As I said before I whould have had a chance if I was BI but that wasn't the case. Once again I keep hearing about this "lifestyle". I don't and never have lived that "lifestyle" you and others assume homosexuals live. I have only dated 3 people in my life. My girlfriend have been together for 13 years and still going strong. The only way you can tell us from any other married couple is that we are both women.

I don't have a problem with her wanting to TRY to change her sexual orientation. I have a problem with her making others think that is possible and making those that have tried and failed feel like a failure because they weren't able to pull off the impossible. If she truly loves men romantically now, she is and always was bisexual not lesbian. It makes a difference. You have people who really want to change comitting suside because they are a failure. That is just irresponsible.

I wasn't questioning her ability to be happy with her choice of chastity. She is stateing that she is no longer a lesbian. If you are still romantically attracted to the same sex, and are celebet, you are STILL Bi or gay. To actually loose your attraction for the same sex all together is impossible. The only choice you have in the situation is to be celebate or not. To someone who DESPARATELY wants to change their orenation and can't, that is devistating.

Who said homosexuals are known for their tolerance? Although I do try to strive for that personally, some of the most biggotted people I know are gay. You got some lesbians that hate all men. You got some gay men that hate all women. Not many do but the ones that do have an intense hatred. I have witnessed more gays that don't like bisexuals. They get upset because they don't think bisexuals can get off the fence. This isn't prevelent in the gay community but it is definately out there.

OK...66,000 verses and you found the 6-8 that mention samer sex activity (not sexual orientation which was not understood until the late 1800's)..now read them in CONTEXT...did Jesus even know about same sex activities?( Yup,He did) he sure camped on divorce but never once is recorded to mention Homosexuality...hmm, guess it wasn't a big deal to Him. boom. with all due respect, honestly, "did Jesus even know about same sex activities?" come on. I guess the all-knowing God, just never took the time to learn about that, well, except for Sodom. But I guess he forgot. By the way, the Bible is the word of God, so it doesn't matter if it says..."Jesus said..." it's ALL God's word. If you think God didn't know about homosexuality, you are severely limiting Him.

By the way, having the orientation, in itself isn't a sin, it's temptaion, just like drug/food/sex/TV addiction. It's acting upon it or seriously/deliberately contemplating temptation (any temptation that leads to sin) that is the sin.

Think about who wrote the bible, the cultural and historical context of the bible. Until you understand that, you don't fully understand the text.

no. when WE sin, it's WE that condemn ourselves to death (hell), unless we make an honest effort at repentance and seek God's forgiveness. The point is, none of us is perfect, but we should strive to be holy and seek God's help/strength/guidance and forgiveness. We can't do it by ourselves, that's why He died for us. We ALL have some struggle e.g. anger, lust, addiction, etc that we could honestly say "I was born that way," but we are called to rise above that and be pleasing to God.

Look, I get your point and to a certain extent I agree that we all have our defects against which we should struggle. I just don't think that homosexuality falls in that category - it's to complex to explain further.
By the way, Leviticus does not say "hell" it says something along the lines of "they should be killed swiftly".

That's funny.
But beyond jokes, there are people in this world who actually believe that homosexuals should be condemned to death, and in fact in some parts of the world, they actually are. Moreover, even if you don't think they should be killed, people like Jbosso79 are straddling the line between disagreeing with homosexuality, and actually advocating public action against it (not in the form of death, i think).
