  • Scythed Chariots are anti-cavalry units but pathetic against infantry, Cluny should've taken limited numbers of cavalry and more archers and a little more infantry, the archers could've made the chariots run amok by fire arrows and more infantry would help him avoid becoming enveloped until the chariots were gone and his cataphracts would be free to use hammer and anvil tactics. As Loki said, Cluny was just being creative.

  • @jenniferthomas28 Barbarian chariots don't run amok. But archers would probably have been an improvement over the onagers: he could have taken 6 archers for those 2 onagers.

  • hey man.. was hoping someone could send me some of the shortkeys for total war.. e.g. stop orders... or like when you press something and you can rotate your lines ... please reply on my channel because i have had total war before but am getting mac version soon =D thanks guys would be glad to hear from you.. happy gaming

  • No CWB mean No good :'(

  • at first I thought you were going to send all men straight into their phalanxe lol. congrats on the victory!

  • Heh, thanks.

  • wow u beat cluny u are good nice battle its more nicer that u used a barbarian faction i love them along with eastern ones(except numidia) and the seleucids are cool thx to the fact that they have a huge variety of units

  • Thanks.

  • what do hit points do?

  • Think of them as lives.

  • Its the amount of health basicly. Most units are one. Any higher than that are harder to kill.

  • Well played, mate, very nicely done. Thanks very much for these videos, they are a pleasure to watch.

  • Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed.

  • cool man, 5stars again

  • Thanks

  • good game :)

  • Nice!

  • GG! do you only go by Loki online?

  • Mostly, it can vary between Loki and HarlotsEvisceration.

I do end up on a few abstract smurf names though, so if you are looking to bump into me the best way is xfire.

  • Nice commentary, Loki.

The thing about playing humans rather than the AI is the unpredictable nature of humans. You had no idea that Cluny was going to purchase so much light cavalry and he didnt know what exactly you were going to purchase, that is what makes it so much fun. We all win some and we all lose some but we all have fun.

How many Denary do you use in KOTH?

  • Not to mention the human player is usually intelligent, when I play the AI it's always a clear or heroic (when you win against a much more superior army) victory. The only time I lose is when I am very outnumbered and I have only weak units or I forget I'm playing (and even then I usually pull off a strong victory).

  • Both correct. However the AI's main downfall is it's inability to prioritize and deal with skirmishers and ranged troops effectively. You can easily win an offline battle with skirmisher infantry and less numerous cavalry via envelopments and distraction, online this is much more transparent and easier to counter.

  • It's 10k, the rules are set more to curb Chariot based armies. Unlimited melee and javelin infantry and cavalry, archers are limited to 7, 4 of which can be chariot archers or horse. Chariots are limited to four total. Artillery and Elephants are allowed.

  • cool battle, the woads(britania) is my favorite faction

  • Thank you, Barbarians are my favorite type of nation to use (excluding Scythia). I like the Woads due to their useful skirmishing troops, which you almost never see being able to be effective unless they are head hurlers.

The chariots bring an excellent psychological role into it also, allowing you to field a very versatile army, completely surprising your opponent when it's not chariot heavy.

  • Woads? you mean the Britons?

  • No, If I meant Britannia, I'd say Britannia. I call them the Woads.

  • Good game, Nice video.

  • Thanks

  • The crucial moment of the battle was, I agree, the rear charge into that mass of upgraded Greek Cav. with the chariots - you showed patience in bringing them back from their moves on your left flank ready to make their counterstroke. As for me, as you say, I got too creative. Instead of expensive catapults to force you to attack me I would have done better with archers, and I've defeated chariots in the past with Cataphracts (though at heavy cost in blood) - that would have been wiser of me.
