Afe you serious? The King James Authorized edition had the Apocrypha in it. Also, that same Bible was translated in the tongue of the English so that you have to learn English to know what the Word says. It is just one more translation. Learn Greek and Hebrew if you want to know what it really says. Don't depend on a translator. Be your own translator. Then you can translate it into Spanish, or German, etc. Don't expect people from around the world to learn Elizabethan English.
actually the bible never says the earth is flat. it says four corners of the world which clearly means to the end of the earth (it is written in the poetry sections). plus, the classifications of animals was done thousands of years after the Old Testament was written. there are a lot of the same elements in the earth that are in the human body.

The KJV is extremely inaccurate. A beautiful translation, absolutely, but inaccurate. Like the NIV, it is not translated from Greek and Hebrew, but from Latin, not unlike most English translations. It is able to make this claim because Latin is the intermediate langauge for English translations from ancient languages. However, Latin too has its limitations, and as such, modern English is unable to present a clear translation of ancient text. Those who say it is accurate are not scholars.
Use the King James to look those up. And further more why would you read a Bible that takes out over 40 Bible verses and changes so many words and meanings?
@mylongsword Amen thats right people need to read there bible they have no clue about the other versions they would like to change there bibles before there lives for Jesus.God bless have a good day.
You haven't studied the Bible for 44 years or you wouldn't say such infantile things about it.
The words of the Bible were spoken in many cases and then written and time after time as the Lord speaks or as the prophet speaks, the words are referred to as, "these words which I command thee," (Deut. 12:28). Joshua says, "hear the words of the LORD your God." (Joshua 3:9).
First, your 44 years of study of the Bible is comparable to my 40 year study of German. I still can't speak a lick.
Your reasoning was stated previously, so don't go changing boats in midstream. You SAID it was "silly" (not a mistranslation) and that the error is seen in the KJV, not in some Greek text.
But, since you switched... let's look at the crooks... the liars... the cheats and HYPOCRITES putting out your new bibles. They ALL do the SAME thing in Acts 7:45...
bbbfohio, you are babbling. I have not switched horses, you just have a comprehension problem. Perhaps the same one that prevents your learning a simple language like German. My point is and has always been that in the KJV the word translated "Easter" was an intentional mistranslation. I have no interest in your various versions, the entire book is merely a record of a MYTH invented by frightened desert dwellers back in the bronze age.
I love you hypocrites: "It is very foolish to make accusations against a stranger."
Didn't take you long to contradict yourself. And your such a pompous gas bag, pretending that German is EASY. As for the hundreds of thousands who have studied but not learned it,.. we're all stupid and you are obviously BRILLIANT.
That doesn't explain why you would type your thoughts on this page and prove your stupidity. MYTH. LOL
If the Bible is a myth, explain the fact that ALL archeaological discoveries VERIFY the historical content . Come up with something other than your egotostical self-adulation and condescending attitude toward those with a functioning brain, please.
Explain world renown archaeologist William F. Albright who attests to it's historical credibility. Explain the discovery of Ninevah, the Temple of Dagon, the cave of Macpelah, the Temple Mount, the garden tomb, Jericho...

EVERY new Bible translates the Greek word "Iesou" in Acts 7:45 as "Joshua" which is an ERROR (by your standards).
The word in every Greek text is "Iesou" & is translated 975 times.
In the KJV it's translated "Jesus" 975 times.
But your new bibles it translated "Jesus" 974 times and "Joshua" ONCE. Why?
Because your new translation editors think they are smarter than God and forget the TYPE (Paul calls "shadow") of Joshua in the Old Testament fulfilled by Jesus in the New.
Peter refers to Paul's letters (Epistles) and includes them with "the other Scriptures" (2 Peter 3:15-16) and 2 Tim. 3:16 says that all Scripture is "given by inspiration of God"... which is "theo-pneustos" in Greek, or transliterated "God-breathed".
Have you ever read Acts 12 (and not just verse 4)?
The reference is to Herod. He was an uncircumcised Edomite who didn't celebrate "Passover". He celebrated the Feast of Ishtar, or in modern vernacular, "EASTER".
And if you do your homework, you will find that this was NOT the Jewish Passover because verse 3 says it was the "days of unleavened bread" and THAT is AFTER Passover.
So, verse 4 is during the seven days AFTER Passover and is referring to Herod's practice, not the Jewish holiday.
Your reasoning is, "Easter is a pagan holiday and doesn't refer to the resurrection of Jesus." Yet, it DOES to millions who are in the habit of referring to Ressurrection Sunday as EASTER.
In the same way, the "Pascha" was a DAY to the Jew but a SEASON to the Roman rulers. The observed the Pascha SEASON by doing their own thing quietly in their own palaces and temples--feasting in accordance with the practice of the celebration of ISHTAR.
Okay, seriously bbfohio, I can understand the passion you have for this whole KJVO stuff. Where I may strongly disagree with you on such a position, I'm setting that aside for now to call you out in the name of Jesus Christ.

You're my brother, and I love you, but you've GOT to learn how to act around those who may disagree with you. I can assure you that a will never come around to your fag brand of "christy-anity" and Pansievangelicalism.
@Imaginefree69 Interesting note on that Easter controversy. It may well be that KJV is the only translation to get it RIGHT. The funny thing is that yes, pascha means "passover" in the Greek, but the man who invented the word "passover" was William Tyndale. In ALL of Tyndale's translations (which include Mathew's Bible, Great Bible, Bishop's Bible, KJV) the word is "Easter." There's a reason.
@Imaginefree69 Exodus makes it clear that passover was held BEFORE unleavened bread. In Acts, the feast of bread had already occurred. Pascha couldn't be "passover" in that passage, thus Tyndale rendered it Easter. In the text, it was a pagan ruler who held the disciple, meaning to bring him out on the pagan feast day (which happened to correspond roughly to the time of passover). Thus, Tyndale understood "pascha" to mean "passover" for the Jews, but something else for Romans.
In 1646 many KJV Bibles began to leave out the Apocrypha. I have a KJV Bible that was printed in 1646 with no Apocrypha (Westminster Confession of Faith (1646), Article III)
Copy and paste this
THE APOCRYPHA angelfire/la2
in the yahoo search engine, should be the first link that comes up. There's some good info on the history of the Bible on this site. Near the bottom of this web page see also
Apologiamixer is correct. BBBfohio is incorrect. All of the King James Bibles printed between 1611-1828 had the Apocrypha books in them until the Protestant Bible Societies forced the Cambridge Press to remove the Apocrypha. The Gutenberg Bible printed in 1455 had the Apocrypha books too. The Septuagint, which was the Old Testament Bible of Jesus Christs Apostles, had the Apocrypha books too. The Dead Sea Scrolls have the Apocrypha books in them too.
Yes, though this is true, Jesus did not quote from the Apocrypha, yet he honored the history of the Maccabees by going to the Feast of the Dedication (Hanakkah)(Jn. 10:22)
The King James was translated from the Greek text by "Catholic" scholar Erasmus. It orginally contained the Apocrypha which protestants as a whole reject. The Greek word for Passover has been mistranslated "Easter" in King Jimmy's version of Acts 12:4. We Christians don't celebrate eggs and bunnies. Rev. 20:14 claims hell is to be cast into the lake of fire, whereas it should read "hades" is to be cast into the lake of fire. Jehovah's Witness are quick to point out these problems.
Erasmus rejected much of what the RCC taught and his Greek text was placed on the forbidden book index. The Apocrypha was placed between the Testaments as NON-CANONICAL. Easter is correct, the word cannot be passover since it was the DAYS of unleavened bread-passover had passed. 'Hades' is just a transliation of the Gr. word. Hell is the correct word wherever it is found, not hades. There are no errors in the KJB.
The Apostles spoke the language that they knew. I speak the language that I know. What do you speak?...Yea hath God said? AND GOD SAID LET THERE BE LIGHT AND THERE WAS LIGHT. (Gen. 1:3)
Where is your Bible apologiamixer? Do you have an infallible Bible?
I've got one. The King James Bible, translated from the Received Greek Text and Masoretic Hebrew Text--which ALL Bibles used by born again Christians came from until deadbeat, apostate scholars like Westcott and Hort LIED to the world and used Vatican and Sinai manuscripts to produce the RV piece of crap.
Where's YOUR Bible? Did the Vatican give you your "bible"?
Were there no born again Christians before the KJV, then? And of English changes to the point where the KJV cannot be understood by the average person (and that day will eventually come), then will that be the end of being born again?
It's been 11 months since you made your silly arguments, but I'll answer them anyway:
1. To imply that to believe in the KJV means someone thinks no one before the KJV was saved...asinine and proof that you have no clue what you're talking about.
2. If you cannot understand the KJV, you are either 3 years-old or illiterate. Which is it? It was written at what amounts to a FOURTH grade reading level.
Try doing a little research before throwing rocks at The Book !
Just like since I trusted Christ, my understanding has grown: I first believed God's word is perfect, and later God grounded me in that truth. BTW...I was a bible believer years b4 I ever heard names like Ruckman, Riplinger, and Gipp. I think most Christians are bible believers when they first get saved. They're educated out of believing it later. Dangerous stuff.
Jesus Christ is the Word of God (John 1:1). A man is saved because he believes what God said about salvation through Jesus Christ. If God's word is not perfect than neither is your salvation because we are born again by the word of God (I Pet 1:23). If a man believes the Bible is the perfectly preserved word of God, he does so by faith. God preserved his word. I believe it's the KJB.
Partially correct. Hebrew was not actually the origional language, because Abraham spoke Chaldean, from Ur, and even Joseph spoke Egyptian in his many years in Egypt, yet it was translated to Hebrew then Greek and English etc.
big., couldn't say it better myself the best is in the original manscript. like my preacher said its not the version wither it be KJV NKJV TLB NIV its not gonna make a difference for salvation. i have come too find out since he said that the CWB and study bible both say "a god" and not "was God" in John 1:1 calling God just a god and not THE GOD
Yes, the editing was corrections of errors and mispellings of words done by those typesetting and printing it. As for the Apocrypha, read the translators notes. The underlying text of the A.V. is the only true text, all others are corrupt.
If the Bible is flawed and written by men, then eat drink and be merry for we die tomorrow. I believe God preserved it perfectly, in the English language just as you believe what you believe.
The Bible - in its original form - the autographs was perfect - but over the centuries it is impossible to ignore the minor things that rebuke our attempts to claim any translation to be perfect - ie flawless... It was not 'written' by mere men - but men inspired by God - translations are a whole different story. I wont pick apart the KJV though - if you believe in it - amen.
If you believe in inspiration of the "origionals" then we have some common ground. I am well aware of the passages that are always quoted as being "errors" I just take God at his Word that He would preserve it. (Psalm 12:6-7) (Isa. 30:8) Since he preserved it, the preservation is also inspired as He was preserving his very inspired words. (Prov. 30:5) (Mathew 4:4)
bulls - I take His word too - He promised us the Holy Spirit - not the Bible - the Holy Spirit is the only incorruptible source of His Word. The Bible is invaluable for us - but its worthless without the Holy Spirit.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
I firmly believe that we can not understand everything that is written in the scripture, only those things that are neccesary to live the Christian life, being an example of a true believer of Jesus Christ. If there seem to be contradictions, then I believe they were also there in the "origionals". And since they don't exist then neither man can prove their point but must rely in solely in faith alone. As Paul said in Acts "Let every man be fully persuded in his own mind" Rom. 14:5

Hi;dekubber. You can;t be that naive,The original (Papyrus) does not exist,You can;t know what it says because all you have is copies of copies of ...............
Also you can;t know what those copies are of the original.
Example;1 Sam. 31;4 Says that Saul killed himself 2 Sam.21;12 ......killed by a Phillistine 2 Sam. 1;10 .......killed by a Amalekite
Is that what God want us to have?,lies, deceptions, contradictions, false prophecies, etc.
People who don't take the time to study for themselves always get it wrong. 2 Sam 1:10 is a lie being told to King David hoping to merit some favor with the King. What the man got was not what he'd hoped for. 1 Sam 31:4 is obviously the true account and 2 Sam 21:12 uses the word "slain" which could mean they killed or wounded him. Since 1 Sam 31:4 tells us how he actually died we know the Philistines only wounded Saul, see 1 Sam 31:3.
here is your instruction. he gave you even in your translation it says Read my word. and he not talking about King james word he talking about his word. he put in in the Hebrew, greek and Aramaic
Which revision of the KJV does he mean? You guys DO know it has been edited over and over, right? Can a single KJV guy actually debate the ancient text or just the old english?
The word bible is not in the bible. It's insane to take a text out of context and make it a pretext. KJV Onlyism is not a position one should take in order to make a point about a specific scripture.
lmao MonkeyMagic88 u are a fool, the only true Hebrew Israelites are the black race, god aint happy with u European white devils.......Thats why ur race is dying u faggot......
He speaks with confidance and power, perhaps a sign of enpowerment buy the Holy Ghost? How those men endored the strugles of the past is a sighn of their devotion
I wonder if these fanatical buffoons would cheer so much if he said he was going to quote from the Geneva Bible...

trueedge2097 1 year ago
@Imaginefree69 Exodus makes it clear that passover was held BEFORE unleavened bread. In Acts, the feast of bread had already occurred. Pascha couldn't be "passover" in that passage, thus Tyndale rendered it Easter. In the text, it was a pagan ruler who held the disciple, meaning to bring him out on the pagan feast day (which happened to correspond roughly to the time of passover). Thus, Tyndale understood "pascha" to mean "passover" for the Jews, but something else for Romans.

@trueedge2097
" Pascha couldn't be "passover" in that passage"
Nice try.
"Passover" is the TRANSLATION of "pascha."
The context, in this case, has no affect upon this meaning.
Tyndale edited the Bible to suit the rulers of the day.
Pastors and televangelists are still doing the same today.

If the bible is truly he word of God and was inspired by God then it would seem that all of it is necessary. Why would part of it be taken out?

Jehovah's Witness are quick to point out these problems.
apologiamixer 3 years ago
Erasmus rejected much of what the RCC taught and his Greek text was placed on the forbidden book index. The Apocrypha was placed between the Testaments as NON-CANONICAL. Easter is correct, the word cannot be passover since it was the DAYS of unleavened bread-passover had passed. 'Hades' is just a transliation of the Gr. word. Hell is the correct word wherever it is found, not hades. There are no errors in the KJB.

Did the Vatican give you your "bible"?
bbbfohio 3 years ago 2
On what basis do you assert Westcott and Hort were apostate?
And on what basis does that actually make any difference?
Can you answer even these basic questions?
Maestrohbill 3 years ago
@bbbfohio
Were there no born again Christians before the KJV, then? And of English changes to the point where the KJV cannot be understood by the average person (and that day will eventually come), then will that be the end of being born again?
Naiant 1 year ago
@Naiant =
3.

Dangerous stuff.
vichlopet 4 years ago
Jesus Christ is the Word of God (John 1:1). A man is saved because he believes what God said about salvation through Jesus Christ. If God's word is not perfect than neither is your salvation because we are born again by the word of God (I Pet 1:23). If a man believes the Bible is the perfectly preserved word of God, he does so by faith. God preserved his word. I believe it's the KJB.
vichlopet 4 years ago
Partially correct. Hebrew was not actually the origional language, because Abraham spoke Chaldean, from Ur, and even Joseph spoke Egyptian in his many years in Egypt, yet it was translated to Hebrew then Greek and English etc.

Best versions of the Bible:
Old Testament- Hebrew
New Testament- Greek
Since the Bible was not originally written in English, how the argument be made that the translation is better than the original?
bigfatchihuahua 4 years ago
big., couldn't say it better myself the best is in the original manscript. like my preacher said its not the version wither it be KJV NKJV TLB NIV its not gonna make a difference for salvation. i have come too find out since he said that the CWB and study bible both say "a god" and not "was God" in John 1:1 calling God just a god and not THE GOD
djchillman 4 years ago
There are no origionals in Greek and Hebrew. They don't exist.

Correct. But they were originally written in these languages. What we have are the masoretic text, Dead Sea Scrools and LXX. Bes texts we have.

Yes, the editing was corrections of errors and mispellings of words done by those typesetting and printing it. As for the Apocrypha, read the translators notes. The underlying text of the A.V. is the only true text, all others are corrupt.

Theres always a reason - never acceptance for the flawed works which we do - just excuses
christoferL 4 years ago
If the Bible is flawed and written by men, then eat drink and be merry for we die tomorrow. I believe God preserved it perfectly, in the English language just as you believe what you believe.
bullseyebry 4 years ago
The Bible - in its original form - the autographs was perfect - but over the centuries it is impossible to ignore the minor things that rebuke our attempts to claim any translation to be perfect - ie flawless... It was not 'written' by mere men - but men inspired by God - translations are a whole different story. I wont pick apart the KJV though - if you believe in it - amen.
christoferL 4 years ago
If you believe in inspiration of the "origionals" then we have some common ground. I am well aware of the passages that are always quoted as being "errors" I just take God at his Word that He would preserve it. (Psalm 12:6-7) (Isa. 30:8) Since he preserved it, the preservation is also inspired as He was preserving his very inspired words. (Prov. 30:5) (Mathew 4:4)
bullseyebry 4 years ago
bulls - I take His word too - He promised us the Holy Spirit - not the Bible - the Holy Spirit is the only incorruptible source of His Word. The Bible is invaluable for us - but its worthless without the Holy Spirit.
John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
christoferL 4 years ago

Thank you Yvan
quebec10000 3 years ago
People who don't take the time to study for themselves always get it wrong. 2 Sam 1:10 is a lie being told to King David hoping to merit some favor with the King. What the man got was not what he'd hoped for. 1 Sam 31:4 is obviously the true account and 2 Sam 21:12 uses the word "slain" which could mean they killed or wounded him. Since 1 Sam 31:4 tells us how he actually died we know the Philistines only wounded Saul, see 1 Sam 31:3.

The word bible is not in the bible. It's insane to take a text out of context and make it a pretext. KJV Onlyism is not a position one should take in order to make a point about a specific scripture.
