The plug is made so it doesn't allow you to release the buckle clip accidentally on impact. If you want to stop the rattle put two strips of black electrical tape on the mount.
I have a problem... I have two baseplate connectors. I inserted one the surf mount, with some effort. Then I stuck the mount on the surfboard. Now I need to remove the baseplate and I can't... I simply can't seem to even get it to move one mm.
Do you have any ideas? I was convinced that the baseplates were standard-sized... :(
@crisbugio G'day, i did the same with one of mine previously and after a long time of brute force i managed to get it out without damaging eather mounts, although my fingers wernt as happy. if you cant get it out that way you may have to decide to cut the baseplate with a hacksaw of some sort.(i assume the baseplate is the black connector). sorry if this isnt much of a help. ps: you can also contact gopro and ask for some older version baseplates, i did and seems like they work well. cheers
Don't worry people... pretty soon they will have these mounts built in to the surf boards and wakeboards and snowboards... and when they do I was the first person to say they should
i think the problom is in the bottom mount as it mounted to the surf bord its moulding to the same shape this giving more clearance in the clip its self .. i just tryed it out with mine i was bending the mount that the go pro is packaged in and it rattles like hell even with the rubber packer installed but if i dont bend the mount base its perfect
cheers for this, just fitted mine, exact same rattle obviously. 2 Layers of white electrical tape down each little channel and its solid as a rock, took 2 minutes if anyone else happens to stumble upon this vid with the problem.
You have to put 2 slices off tape (like electrical tape) on your white mounting, right under your black mount... it should squeeze the 2 pieces together and not move anymore
