Actually a lot of the bad comments came from deaf extremist. They, for whatever reason, get really upset when "their own kind" cross over into the hear world. They feel someone who is deaf should remain loyal to their roots if born deaf, that they should not get hearing devices. They can get pretty nasty when it comes to people like this lady who got an implant device. These extremist live in their own world.

Hearing aids provide I believe 30 to 50 frequent sounds, implant aids provide upward tp 100 out of over 200 possible frequent sounds so the implants are more of " real" sound that are coming from surround... Thank you! I'm actually best friends with her cousin and the story is actually true. She was on the Today Show Monday and if Im not wrong she should be on Ellen's show tomorrow. The implants she received is very new technology (not the cochlear implants) She has had some hearing with hearing aids but could actually never hear herself.
