  • I love your videos! Do you know anyone who needs help with their handwriting? Just google "Chrissy Handwriting" and go to the videos page. Every letter of the alphabet is demonstrated on my channel. Thanks for friending me!

  • i was out in it i was with my Dad and my mom at fred meyers that afternoon and it started raining like cats and dogs then hail started 45 minutes after that thunder and Lightning started booming around us after that the sky turned dark creepy eerie evil green

  • Yes, This Thunderstorm/Tornado Warnining Was SO Scary, Because Im Only 12 And Lived In Beaverton Oregon My Whole Life, And I Was Freaking Out, It Was Insane, I Didnt See Any Tornado Though? But, It Was Very Scary, I Never Seen Anything Like It, So Everyone Who Said He Was "Freaking Out" You Would Too If You Lived In Oregon, Theres Not Much Storms Like This. It Was Insanly Scary.

  • This is so funny to me because I am from Kansas and was in Hillsboro for a friends wedding. All of us Kansas folks were wondering what the big fuss was all about. We see this kind of activity on a regular/sometimes daily basis here, so we weren't taking it all that serious. Figured out what the big deal was when our friends got off of work and said that this kind of a storm is a rarity in NW Oregon.

  • most people in portland oregon see more than one or two thunderstorms a year - and they are very light ones.

  • @GayTexasBoy One or two a year, if we're lucky!

  • @GayTexasBoy

This one was comparable to some midwestern storms, although this video didn't show what the storm did in other parts of western oregon, as the description says. I'd say this is maybe a 20-30 year thunderstorm for our location.

  • dude its a freakin storm u are actin like u aint never seen 1 b4

  • @sassynum12: Well, that's because in Western Oregon, storms of this size are extremely rare - on the order of one maybe every 20 years or so. We don't normally get supercells with reports of tornadoes and severe winds, so yeah, I really hadn't seen one like that, at least not in a long while! :)

  • From portland to gresham its a half hour drive if taking the max its longer

  • that was one heck of a thunderstorm

  • What part of Oregon are you in? I'm in Tigard, and yes, this storm was insane...

  • heh my dad has 2 go through portland cause thats where his shop is at

  • Erik, just had to watch this again.... I had no clue this area was even capable of such activity.... LOL :) Keep up the videos and stay safe!

    remember my pictures?

  • Yeah, you got to see so much more structure than I did! It sure was a great storm... definitely one for the history books!

  • Yep, this storm probably goes on the top 5 strongest thunderstorms to develop in the Valley.

  • It looks like the same thing we got on tuesday.formed of the cascades and moved from east to west at 75 mph.

  • Strange - that storm moved from East to West! It happens, but not too often. I remember a big overnight thunderstorm that hit in the Seattle area in the summer of 2005 where it did the same thing - formed over the Cascades, then drifted west and slammed the cities of Kirkland, Bellevue, Sammamish, and Issaquah at about midnight

  • Nice video of the storm, and so true about your video not showing how awesome it really was. Both sides of the storm completely dodged Hillsboro when it broke apart, so I was mad. As it was approaching me, I was literally expecting 70 mph winds, 1 inch hail, and a tornado.

  • i know when that happens its very disappointing

  • hahahahahahha! it's so true! californians always complain about it raining too much, it's too windy, it's too cold, the water's too cold. I just tell them to shut up and go back to cali, and they normally do

  • I just wish they'd stop invading altogether... Maybe if storms (like this one or the snow we had in December) keep coming, Oregon woll look a little less appealing to them? We can only hope.

  • hahaha, agree'd. not really sure why they want to come up here anyway if all they want is humid heat and warm ocean

  • haha, yea i uploaded a video of this ab out 5 min after the storm. I live in se portland. This was crazy, and apparently all the dust was pollen. there was a hell of a lot of it. Got a lot in my eyes trying to get home

  • I'm not sure how much truth is in this, but I heard that the pollen (along with little pieces of flowers, plant husks and other organic materials) actually got blown up from Northern California and Southern Oregon? Plausible, i suppose...

  • it's really all I could say makes sense. It's not like we have a lot of it up here

  • The storm that you had was exactly the same one we had in Beavercreek and was exactly the same in beavercreek (If you know were that is) I have a video on them if you want to see the footage I got. You really did not see the lightning well though besides one bolt in one of the vids.

  • Yes, Beavercreek is just out past the college. My brother lives out that way...
