You get basically a big measuring tape, put the end on the jump plate, and then record the distance from the plate all the way to where your foot marks are.
don't swing your legs in thr air when you jump off of the board..... jump off of it and then get your legs quickly up in the air into the "pike" position (basically your legs r at a 90 degree angle in the air) and when you get close to landing swing your arms back really fast.... you'll go farther.... oh and sprint to the board about half way then run as fast as u can and don't slow down.... you'll get farther too!! take care... great jump btw

Actually just keep practicing and you'll define techniques yourself that you would use yourself. But for some advice: if you drive your knee while you are running it will give you "pre-power" to give you that extra edge on the jump.

swEEt hang technique. ur form looks pretty good. i long jump too. its fun stuff! . . . work on ur ups. the higher u jump, the longer the hang time, the further ull go. thats how i got into the 16's .... bet ur kickin butt! good luck with it.

i'm jumping high 20's, breaking into low 21's now. your technique is decent honestly, maybe you should try a new running style. drive your knees up higher to get a better push off the board. and strengthen those legs, of course.

I have won the North Leinsters Under 15s on the wednesday I first started.
My PB was 4.66m
Today (Saturday) I Won the All Louths (County) in Long Jump and beat my PB of 4.66m to 4.86 in 2 days.

I have a tip that could boost your jumps farther , try to look up as long as possible because as soon as you get airborn you look down.
