In Edward's story, he invisions just attacking her right there in class and then killing the others then about taking her to the woods so he can "take his time" with her. Another scenario was to wait until after school and get her alone in the house. He's going over all this in his head and then finally the bell rings and he runs out of class but what you're seeing is just one of the fantasies he had about killing her.
