So much love and venom from posters. A few points: Betty is a bulldog, and bulldogs are incapable of cleaning themselves because of their awkward build. Their owners have to do that for them (how's that for gross?). And so, we don't worry about what the dog has been licking. For those who worried (or hoped) that the baby would die of some horrible illness, you'll be pleased to know that the baby is now 5, completely healthy, and bonded like a sister to Betty.
