  • Seconds later, Voyager t-boned Galactica... their insurance premiums became astronomical.

  • It seems the right flight pod retracted properly while the left one remained out. However, the right flight pod didn't extend after the jump. Must have been an angle/visual perception error on my part. Still, great work! I just assumed you were doing a test for the "Final Jump" and this was an early demo. In which case the right flight pod malfunctioning would make sense. Although during the last battle I lost track of which flight pod the Raptor boarding parties jumped out of.

  • @fodxp Add to clarify- The flight pods retract for jumps and extend afterwards, so when the right pod retracted after the jump I was confused. The left flight pod did nothing. Still, good video. I am just pointing these things out as a friendly reminder. Your model is good, too.

  • @fodxp

I know, that would get pretty complicated. The right pod didn't retract, the ship was just rotating. The visual parallax made it appear like it was retracting.

  • @Beandude202 That's what I thought happened, but I wasn't entirely sure. I apologize and commend your good work.

  • @fodxp

    Lol, thanks!

  • Awesome liitle work^^

  • @Bennymiles

    Thanks!

  • 11,000 views? Wow, this wasn't the video I expected to reach that mark. But thanks!

  • I thought this was part of the show! o_O

  • @SpazzyMcGee1337

    I suppose that's a compliment, thanks!

  • If you want it to be more like bsg shack the camera und do a zoom to the name plate :-D Nice Video btw

  • I think the landing bays are suppose to be retracted when they jump.

  • @jutau

That's why Galactica asploded when they jumped to earth.

  • @piemanization It was damaged primarily due to the onslaught at the cylon colony. The jump, one way or another, puts immense stress on a ship.

  • @Helge129

    Yep.

I wonder why you have to retract them though... Drag issues?

  • @piemanization Stability. Extending the pods decreases structural integrity. The smaller an object, the more stable it is.

  • @Helge129

I see. Thanks. So, the smaller the object is when it jumps, the more stable it is?

  • @piemanization Yes, but overall a more compact object is harder to break than a large object. It's easily demonstrable: Take two pieces of wood of the same type and thickness, but one rather short, the other very long. The long piece will be easier to break than the short piece.

  • Excellent why aren't you part of someones' sci- fi show?

  • @jdreign

Haha, thanks. I wish I was.

  • niice :)

  • @Freddran

    Thanks!

  • how did you create the background?

  • @dabangginception

I took a high-res flat map projection of the earth, overlayed some clouds over it, and then keyframed its position slightly over time. Then I did a lot of color correction to get the colors to match the original scene as closely as possible.

  • Great job, would you create any of your own ships? think that you can make nice looked:>

  • @liroj10

Oh geez, that would take a crapload of work. But I suppose I could do it...

  • Great galactica model, could have done the jump better tho.

  • @Burn3h

Yeah, this is still a work in progress. The jump is one of the things that needs improving.

  • =.= ... 0,0

Dude, that was totally the shit!

  • @MusicMan53100

    Thanks, man!
