Have you ever missed a deadline which you really wished you hadn't?

What has it felt like, being the subject of a BFI retrospective? Seeing your films again, which are you most proud of?

First Light would like to ask on behalf of our interested young people:
We’ve heard that you don’t always let your actors know what’s happening in a scene, why do you do this and has it ever gone wrong?
Is it true you shoot in the order scenes appear in the script and if so why?
Do you think it’s important to work collaboratively with a writer and/or producer or do you prefer to come up with ideas alone?
Thanks BFI!

How important is Authorship (Auteurism) in cinema? And is it even more relevant today when it is much easier for people to make films?
