I was feeding in my windows partition in a raw direct format, so that might be why.

is there a way to decode a data signal from a wav file? I have a few wav files that I recorded from an old microcassette answering machine using my microcassette recorder hooked to my PC. this data signal is placed on the tape after the announcement and I want to decode that data and see what it is and if its anything useful. I've tried a few DOS and windows programs but all failed. do you know how to decode a data signal recorded in a wav file? I may make a vid on this.

I'm not sure what to tell you about that. You would have to do some sub sampling and some tolerance since it is coming from an analogue media. I'm only playing around in this video.
